I just had to tell you that I made your 1) rolls ( using 10 cups of flour) and 2) carrot cake with cheese frosting for the family gathering this Chanukah. The rolls were a hit. The cake was even a bigger hit. I had my children and their spouses and 12 of the 15 grandchildren over last night. Everyone begged me for the recipe. Holding out for a while. Thanks for sharing .
Interesting note: this is exactly the same recipe for what my husband’s mom called Pumpkin Crisp. She always topped this with a cream cheese type frosting. My husband prefers this to pumpkin pie, so she taught me how to make hers and I have made this every year for our Thanksgiving meal (24 years married.) My mother-in-law passed away in 2017, so I always think of her when we enjoy this dessert. So glad to see it is being enjoyed in your kitchen also. Happy Thanksgiving!! Melody B in NC

Our family has made this for over 30 years . It’s a dump cake recipe . My mom always called it pumpkin dessert . Funny how it has so many names but, the recipe hasn’t changed . Always the best tasting dessert on that dessert table ( omg serve it warm ! It will melt in your mouth )

Pumpkin crunch looks good. I’ve used bar keepers friend inside my pans before if something is burnt and in my instant pot. Never hurt me and I rinse thoroughly and pan/ pot comes clean. I’m sure some one may say not good to do that but, I do it. Happy Thanksgiving.

That’s such an interesting idea to sprinkle a cake mix over the top of a filling. I wonder if it would work with other flavours. We don’t like pumpkin as a dessert over here. We eat it as a vegetable and I love it roasted or in soup. I would love to try this cake with an apple and rhubarb filling instead. I think that would be delicious. We don’t seem to use cake mix in any other way than the directions on the box. I love to try out new things.

Ummm. . .reserve one cup of yellow cake mix for topping. With the rest of the yellow cake mix, add to it 1/2 c. melted butter, and 1 egg. Pat this on the bottom of your pan for a crust. Then add the pumpkin mixture, then top with the crumble which is: one cup yellow cake mix, 1 c. pecan pieces, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. cold butter cubed all crumbled together. You will LOVE IT! Made this every Thanksgiving for the last 30 years.

This is kind of like the fruit cobbler I make. My mother taught me. We use a box of Jiffy yellow cake mix and a melted stick of butter with a can of whatever fruit pie filling you want

This could very easily be made semi diabetic friendly using splenda blends 1/2 sugar half sweetner on both the white and brown sugar then use a sugar free yellow cake mix and sugar free cool whip. Its all in portion size you cant eat half the pan 😁

French Toast Casserole 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1 stick butter, melted 1 T. cinnamon, divided 1 T. vanilla, divided 12 slices bread, divided 5 eggs 1 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. granulated sugar In a small mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract together. Pour half of mixture along the bottom of a greased 9 x 13" baking dish. Lightly press 6 slices bread into mixture. Cover with remaining brown sugar mixture, then cover with remaining bread. In a small mixing bowl, combine milk, eggs, sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract together; pour evenly over top. Cover; chill for 24 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool completely, then serve warm.

I have made this every year at Thanksgiving for many years. You might consider making the whole dish and freezing half. This dish freezes great.
