You guys really should have done the research first. It’s perfectly fine to go in blind, but if you choose to do so, then don’t make such sweeping assumptions about who they are , what they do, and how they do it. 90% of your assumptions were completely wrong. It’s not just a formula. Ignorance about K-pop is extremely rampant in the US because, for the most part, we think everything good must somehow come from here the US. The best entertainment these days is not coming from here. Those of us who were willing to check out what else is out there discovered that the best content is no longer American. We have fallen behind exactly because of that attitude. Blackpink is so much bigger than you realize.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Thank you!
Totally!
*these who make these mistakes are mostly African Americans*
Please PLEASE do more blackpink and do a little research. This channel is the only channel I've ever backed as a member but this reaction was hard to watch. I'm really hoping you get to watch more of Lisa and Jennie's rapping. Lalisa. Money. They trained for ten years together doing a lot of their own choreo etc.
As i am korean like both teddy and jyp get lots of inspiration from American hip-hop and r&b music of course. They never denied it they just wanted to localize with their own style or the way koreans likely like more.
Blackpink's popularity is no joke. As the President of Korea recently said at the US Congress: "You may not know my name, but you definitely know bts and blackpink." Their influence is so high that it has long gone beyond the usual music scene, they were personally invited to perform by the first ladies of France and the United States (by the way, I recommend watching their performance in France Le Gala Des Pieces), their concerts were attended by the royal family of Thailand, the President of France with his wife, their songs were used by the Vice President of Taiwan for his video. By the way, they have many joint songs with artists you probably know, for example, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, etc.
I am guessing you are a blink hey I am ur fellow blink .I feel reassured when I know there are supporters of blackpink and kpop . even if ur not a fan Tnx for spitting some facts slay.. Borahae 💜
Thanks
BLACKPINK is totally different from the other kpop groups since their concept is totally urban and international, they have a high influence of HIP HOP, EDM, POP, R&B, INDIE, COUNTRY and their concerts look like ROCK concerts since they are with a 100% band live, that's why in just 7 years of career they are already the biggest girl group in the world and in history.

BLACKPINK with 88 million subscribers on UA-cam is officially the artist or singer with the most subscribers in the world.
He is also the #1 most streamed artist in the entire history of UA-cam with over 30 billion views on his channel.
It is also the girl group with the most streaming in the history of SPOTIFY with 10 billion views, the merit is that they only have 38 songs (adding SOLO, group and collaborations) and 7 years of musical career, quite a phenomenon.
Kpop Idols start as a trainee in their young ages
and are trained for 4-5 years
to be an idol
Being an idol is more than just singing and rapping
the biggest thing i like about the training system is it thoughly prepares these individuals for life in the entertainment industry
BLACKPINK is currently on a world tour "BORN PINK WORLD TOUR" and when it culminates in June 2023 it is estimated to gross 260 million dollars, being the biggest girl group tour of all time, and it will also be the kpop tour most successful in history.
In addition, they have already announced an "ENCORE TOUR" in the USA for the month of August 2023 with 5 concerts at DODGERS STADIUM, ORACLE PARK STADIUM, ALLEGIANT STADIUM and 2 dates at METLIFE STADIUM and their tickets are almost sold with 4 months to go. perform.
My daughter saw them in London a couple of months ago ,said they were amazing . She is seeing them again in July
@@leafie1970 By any chance, is she going to Hyde Park or Paris Encore? I am seeing them again in July in Paris :)
Hyde Park:)
@@leafie1970 😍
Two stadiums are 100% sold out plus additional tickets added at Oracle park.
Total - MetLife day one was added later so it's 90% sold out.
I think out of 250k tickets for USA encore only 10k-15k remaining after 1 week of sales. Still 3 months to go for concert.
There are no weak members in BP. Quite the opposite. So as to your question, who is Beyonce? Well think of a Beyonce (Lisa, greatest raps and dancing and stage presence), Rihanna (Jennie, rapper singer extraordinaire), Taylor Swift (Rose, Australian indie music guitar piano player with the best vocals), and Lana Del Rey/Adele (Jisoo, with the strongest vocals, bluesy vibes). They have all come out with solo songs with each breaking records. Jisoo, the member with the least English speaking skills, and arguably the least popular internationally, just came out with her all-Korean solo, having a totally different vibe than BP songs, and has broken the record for sales by a female kpop idol, and is the first Kpop female idol to break into the UK top 40, and the fastest Kpop female idol to reach 100 million streams on Spotify (32 days, Lisa is second with 37 days), and only second on the global charts to Miley Cirus Flowers. And Jisoo has won numerous Lead Actress awards for her Kdrama Snowdrop (on Disney+). Think the Korean combination of Jennifer Lawrence and Adele. They are all global ambassadors for the most successful French fashion houses and jewelry designers (Dior, Channel, YSL, Celine, Cartier, Tiffany, Bvulgari). As to the "wheels coming off", well Lisa just turned down $80 million contract offer with a Chinese music agency (Lisa is huge in China having appeared a Judge on Chinese talent shows) so that she could sign another 5 years with Blackpink, while the rest of members also extended their contracts for those 5 years. These girls went through 4 to 6 years of hell together as Trainees, they are tight.
Thanks for explaining to the new one!
Todos sabemos que la mejor rapera y de mejor presencia escénica es jennie
wow well explained😍
This! I scrolled down to the comments to say exactly this when they said "Oh, it's just like Destiny's Child".... Oh no sir, this ain't 4minute, this is YG's precious gem, there's no weaknesses in their game... Their meaning both BLACKPINK memebers and YG company.
BlackPink has no bots. Headlining Coachella with over 125,000 people watching them live on consecutive Saturdays showed no signs of any bots in the crowd. They just sold out Dodger Stadium. And they'll soon sell out Oracle Park in SF, Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, and two shows at MetLife in New Jersey. They sell out stadiums in Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan, while also selling out arenas all over Europe, Australia, and the rest of Asia.
Wow, you're literally telling us six ways to Sunday how you're prejudging them before and during the music video. Also wonderful hearing you teach us Asian culture. Embarrassing, the Anthony Ray mention was the first warning.
One thing i want to make clear ia that blackpinks fandom is diverse . Not ONLY YOUNG Girl's support them . Im 20 years myself and my aunt 34 who introduced me to them . They have massive fanbase with all ages fandom. They are selling out stadiums . Currently on tour and they headline mexico Foro sol stadium for 2 nights . They are gonna be back American for encore shows . Met life, aligiant , dodgers etc stadium in on their list. They are on their way to be the highest grossing kpop group of all time with over 300 million USD.
(Ignore my mistake it's not my first language)
I am a 31years old male, extremely into rock more than pop, and still spent 1k for a VIP ticket for their concert. Blackpink is just different.
@@mabel3989 woah you're lucky to see them 🦋

Don't you see their duality. They are cute but also they are tough too, that is Blackpink. They can be sweet but also can be savage too for breaking the records other artists.
These girls are professional artist. Give them an assignment....sing, dance or rap, and they can pull it off
what’s with american men their obsession with asian women because we’re apparently “submissive” 😭😭 creeps me out
@ambriaa's island it's gross and the tattoo comment too. So many people there with tats. It's giving me the ick.
@ambriaa's island no I wouldn't put it that far. Homophobia and colorism are dumb terms that are thrown around way too easily
Ignorance at its finest. If it's not your cup of tea than move on. You bozos are right maybe you should stick to destiny's child because they write their own songs (wink)
BLACKPINK's music videos are the most expensive in the industry since they don't use green screens or cgi and everything is 100% real, their budgets for each music video are millions of dollars.
BLACKPINK is the most sponsored artist, celebrity or singer in the world and each of the girls are fashion icons.
JENNIE: ❤is the global ambassador for CHANEL and CALVIM KLEIN, and an alliance with PORCHE.
LISA:❤ is the global ambassador for CELINE, MAC COSMETICS and BVLGARI
ROSE: ❤is the global ambassador for YVES SAINT LAUREN & TIFFSNY %CO.
JISOO: ❤is the global ambassador of DIOR & CARTIER
In addition, the girls work with the United Nations to fight climate change.
Sounds like you just admitted that you don't know what you're talking about...
By the way, Blackpink are the only k-pop group, all members of which are global ambassadors of luxury brands such as Dior, Chanel, YSL, Celine, Cartier, Tiffany and co, Bvlgari and so on, partners of various but global brands and companies such as Porsche, Oreo, Sprite, PUBG, Calvin Klein, Adidas, etc. (the list is very long, but I want to add that they are also partners with Korean airlines, which include the Blackpink greeting to passengers)
So many american and other foreign celebrities are huge fans of blackpink. Blackpink is biggest girl group in the world. They did collaborations with cardi b, selena gomez, lady gaga, dua lipa. They are all aces. Singing, rapping, dancing, saveges, cuties everything . Never disrespect blackpink
All four ladies have had huge success as solo artists as well.
LISA the one who kicks in the door is very popular with everyone.
They headlined Coachella for both weekends. They have collaborated with Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Dua lipa Selena Gomez and others. They have individually as well as solo broken world records.
NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM
in 2022 TIME magazine listed BLACKPINK as ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR 2022, and is the first girl group on the planet to headline the cover of the magazine.
He said so many dumb things in this reaction: like saying they're similar to destiny's child and nicki minaj, like what?! made zero sense. questioning the 1.7b views even though blackpink is the biggest girl group in the world right now. and saying how masculine women originated from america and how they don't have tattoos and shit like that. Bro thinks america is at the center of everything and every other aspect of asian culture is influenced by them. Lol 😂
Exactly, this is why Americans are stereotyped whenever we go outside the country, because of dumbass, ignorant people like this who thinks they know everything, but in reality knows nothing and are arrogant about it. Shaking my damn head. I don't know them, who's child is this?!
@xgoldenxchildx im from usa and confidence is more valued than knowledge here
BLACKPINK last month broke a Guinness World Record for the artist with the most views on UA-cam, surpassing Justin Bieber.
2 years ago they also surpassed JB to become the most followed (subscribed) artist in history, with 88M subs currently.
It's surprising you've never heard of them, considering they are literally the biggest artist in the world on YT😅
Blackpink has already sold over 1 million tickets on their ongoing bornpink tour,
It's highest grossing world tour by any girlgroup.
They headlined Coachella festival,
They are coming to USA in August - MetLife stadium, Dodgers stadium, Oracle park, and Allegiant stadium.
Two are already sold out within a week and other stadium are 93% percent sold out, still 3 months before concerts.
Their Asian stadium concerts gets sold out in minutes 😅
Just look at the subscribers, they are highest subscribed artist on UA-cam.
BLACKPINK was the first kpop act to sing at COACHELLA in 2019 (in that year he participated as a supporting artist) and their performance was so successful in this 2023 BLACKPINK was invited as the main artist at COACHELLA (first kpop act to headline COACHELLA in the whole history) and its 2 presentations in 2023 were so successful that they were watched by 500 million people live on UA-cam live, a historical record for the festival.
the best thing is that BLACKPINK will also be the headlining artist in LONDON HYDE PARK music festival 2023 and will also be the first kpop act to headline the festival in all of history.
You say you've heard it before? I'm 70 and love Blackpink. I saw the Supremes live at the height of their popularity and listened to Destiny's Child.
These women bring their own unique spin while incorporating what came before.
As they've grown, they've become more involved in the music writing some of their own. Actually they did in the beginning as well, but weren't allowed to take credit.
They are also involved in choosing their own fashion.
I won't repeat much of what others have commented, but i suggest listening to more of their music and learning more about them before making quite so many blanket generalizations.
I appreciate your work. But k-pop especially Blackpink is something different.
This reaction is sooo American. Lol! God complex at its finest. 😂
Blackpink is one of the group that speak more then just 2 languages .. they’re all in one!! They can sing dance, rap, they all look gorgeous!! lol his comment about boys in japan trying to be masculine ang girls trying to be feminine is so cringe to me, here in asia we don't care if you're feminine or masculine we care about your manners. Not y'all trying to point out some american stuff in their video it's cringe it's very American.
Good reaction. Blackpink is to female Kpop what Destiny's Child was to American female groups, the best and never matched. Teddy Park is their sole producer, a Korean American who was a hard-core rap star in Korea in his youth. So, you get that vibe in their songs, but his genius, and you will see if you listen to more BP, is blending various genres like traditional Korean and Middle Eastern instrumentals with R&B, Rap, EDM, Country acoustic guitar riffs and even Classical music in their latest all rap song. You said you heard it before, well you are 40 something, that means very few listeners under the age of 25 have heard what you remember. And guess what, you haven't heard it in decades. And furthermore, you didn't really hear anything like the melding of genres, you just heard a single genre version. If you haven't' figured it out, listeners today, especially Americans, are bored to tears with single-genre music with half-assed music videos that could have been better produced by a high schooler. Americans have basically heard the same songs regurgitated over and over for decades and are looking for something better and more interesting. That is why Blackpink just finished headlining the quintessential American music festival Coachella, to critical and popular acclaim. Yes, they sell out stadiums in France (National Stadium this summer), Brazil, Wembly this summer in England, Mexico City, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Saudia Arabia, Dubai, Canada. But they are big hits in the US with a sold out American tour that included multiple days in Houston Atlanta and Dallas, not just LA, NY and Chicago.
BLΛƆKPIИK is a Hiphop/Bass/EDM/Pop genre with a Girl crush concept girl group. They basically have 2 side of their genre which is Black = hard slap song, Pink = Soft/ballad song. Most of their songs have rap line in it including the Pink side of them.
Pretty sure based on the style of music they make and their general aesthetic, BlackPink refers to the duality of their existence. Pretty and pink and feminine on the outside, but there is a dark side within.
TIME Magazine has named BLACKPINK as the Entertainer of the Year for 2022.
Most if not all of them are trilingual. You guys should look into what goes into being a KPop star. I had the same thoughts you did, I absolutely think differently now that I’ve gotten into it. I have so much more respect for them and what they do.
I stumbled across your video today. I'm a Korean adoptee so it was a fun reaction to watch and nice to see someone closer to my age reacting to some Kpop. I've followed the Korean music scene for decades (since I was much younger) and watched it grow and change. I looked at your other newer videos and looked through the top comments and didn't see anything addressing some of your questions, so I thought I'd drop a long comment. South Korea takes its entertainment industry very seriously. Music and movies made in South Korea have equivalent budgets to most big Hollywood movies but without some of the entrenched hierarchy. As far as the music industry goes, it is a meat grinder. Prospective artists essentially go through an academy where they train their vocals, their dancing, and work on their 'look'. Most (probably 75% wash out or quit before they are ever picked up by a label. Those that do are usually put in groups for more training while the label decides what genre or look the group will have. Almost all Kpop groups have no control over their music which leads to very cookie cutter careers, but every now and then a particular group will break out. These break out groups, like Black Pink, Mamamoo, Twice, EXO, etc. will often get more control over their music/appearance/schedule as they get more and more popular. Since Kpop started the labels have tried to expand into the US market with little success beyond one-hit or one-record wonders. PSY was really the first Korean artist who broke through to become a true international success and that was by accident. BTS and BlackPink are the largest sustained successes and they have achieved more than the labels could have hoped for, for different reasons. BTS really succeeded through sheer determination while BlackPink's success is more a unique combination of personalities, skills, and charisma. Each young lady appeals to a different demographic in the world. Lisa and Jeannie really hit the American and European demographic, while Jisoo and Rose sort of cover the Pacific demographic. Rose is Australian, Jisoo is born and raised in South Korea, Jeannie is Korean but was raised overseas, and Lisa is Thai. In real life their personalities compliment each other and they are great friends. In South Korea its not uncommon for individual members to have solo careers along with being part of the group, sort of like Phil Collins. There are strict rules though that Kpop artists have to follow and tattoos still have very negative (criminal) connotations through out Asia. its changing slowly.
South Korea has a long, sad, and bloody history with both China and Japan. Though the Korean generations that really remember this are dying out and to the younger generation its just history even though much of the conflict and bloodshed only dates back to WW2. After the Korean War, the United States had great influence in South Korea with troops stationed there since the cease fire along with UN troops. Officially, South Korea and North Korea are still at war, there was no peace treaty signed - just a cease fire. Most younger Koreans speak at least 2 languages and many speak 3. South Korean culture was very influenced by American culture earlier on. Now they are working on creating their own culture.
As for Passport Bros.. submissive is not the correct word. I've been to Thailand, Korea, Japan, and its not submissiveness. Women are more feminine and take pride in it. They are also very family oriented and believe in harmony within the family. So what appears to be submissiveness is more about being accommodating when its appropriate but they aren't submissive like western women seem to believe. And I've known a few guys who were surprised when they thought they were submissive and learned the hard way that its not submissiveness. There is a difference.
Great reaction. I hope you do take the opportunity to learn more about South Korea. I love my birth country, the food is amazing, the music and movies are amazing, and the culture is so unique from Japan and China.
Thank you for taking your time to educate potential newbies :)
Thank you for taking time out to give these guys a lesson, I see that they respected you so much that they did not take the time to comment at least thank you. I hate to say it but I will, I don't think these two have what it takes to be Blinks, to much Ego and arrogance to recognize true and pure talent. I hope I am wrong and they spend some time with BP, they probably need to hear Pink Venom, the Hip hop section will blow their little minds LOL. Again, thank you for taking time. I want to chime in with my age, 59 so they can see a middle aged white guy likes them as much as a teen likes BP, maybe even more since I have more time in the world and more background in music.
please be a little more forgiving towards these 4 very young girls. Even if you say you don't understand their popularity or don't believe in them, spend a couple of minutes on what I want to say. In fact, Blackpink, although they are the biggest girl group in history, have come a long and difficult way in an era dominated by many male groups (Blackpink debuted two to three years later than BTS). Back in their homeland of Korea, fans of other groups have been constantly attacking them since their debut for various reasons: nationality - one of the members is Thai, many non-Korean (in English) songs, excessive "Americanization", accusing them of deviating "from the Korean course". Literally until the end of 2022, they did not have a single major award for creativity (daesang) in Korea, while other groups had several dozen. Recently, another scandal occurred: the first lady of the United States sent six invitations for BLACKPINK to perform at the White House, but all of them were ignored by South Korea's head of national security. When this scandal came to light, this ignorant politician was defiantly fired, this situation could potentially damage the respectful relations between the United States and Korea. All this information is in the public domain, you can check it yourself. This is just a small part of everything that surrounds them, they have a lot of both fans and haters. Just have an idea about this and I ask you to be gentler with these girls, they have achieved everything with their own work, they have the fewest awards at home in Korea, but the whole world loves them, I won’t list other commentators tried.
Dude the vid is 6 years ago 😒 That’s how they started react to recent MV
They became expert on blackpink, all k-pop, entire Asian culture, asian women based on this one video.
Just too self centred American way of thinking.

thanks for reviewing my favorites😄 They are without a doubt the biggest girl group in history🤩 There are only 4 of them in the group, Jisoo (born and raised in Korea), Jennie (born in Korea, raised in New Zealand), Rosé (born in New Zealand, raised in Australia) and Lisa (born and raised in Thailand). Despite all their popularity, these are the most modest girls in the world😇. I love them for this quality🥰, please see more content from Blackpink, I subscribe and will wait🤩
Rose' born in New Zealand, raised in Australia. Her parents are Korean.
I love them so much too😍🖤💖
They said Asian girls are submissive!!!
Looks like creepy men to be honest.
“Mundane”??? Seriously? I think I know what you meant, but wow was mundane the wrong word to use. Yes, they are very kind, humble, generous, caring, and they never let fame and fortune go to their heads. But mundane literally means boring, uninteresting or dull. They are the most interesting girls I have ever discovered. I know you really are praising them, but please be careful with your choice of words because you accidentally used a word that was the opposite of what you were intending. 👍
@@patnham sorry, i fixed it, thanks)
3/4 of the members were raised outside of Korea so their english is really good compared to other kpop artist/group. Between the members the can literally communicate in at least 7 languages which is wild.😅 smoothest group to transition between languages from Korean to English which makes it easier to take in. Lol
Excellent honest reaction)) I want to tell you one thing - Blackpink's popularity is unprecedented. And just because you haven't heard their music doesn't mean they aren't popular. Listen to their other songs, for example, How do you like that mv, Pink Venom, etc., I saw a few youtubers out of a thousand who said that they had never heard them, and there are a lot of those who said that it turns out they heard this song (in the radio, tiktok, youtube, etc.), but I didn’t think it was Blackpink.
They headlined Coachella for a reason.
FYI, Jennie is about to make her acting debut in The Weeknd's new HBO show out next month. They also have a collab coming out. Yall should tune in.
I think the difference with these KPop groups is that they go to these training places at young age and devote every single second to the music. They are held to standards that most Americans would get in a tizzy over. They have to act respectful, humble and kind when they are out. Yes tattoos are taboo however getting more acceptable. The beauty standards are insane too. I love Black Pink. Stray Kids are my Favorite they are self produced too. Write and make their own beats.
The most annoying thing about this video was the comments on America's influence on western culture and America's influence. "Thy don't have any tattoos that's interesting" like bro it's not about America at all it's not linked to America.
Facts: those numbers dont lie its real we are not bots we are blackpink soldier we call ourself blinks..... And we are huge... And blackpink is the 1 top subscribe artist in youtube. And others streaming platform
These people are consciously ignorant, acting like if they don't know the artist then it must be fraud, like people in Asia don't exist!!!

You guys are about to attract the whole Blinks community with this reaction! About to grow the channel
the most impressive thing about kpop is the talent of the members, before debuting in a group they enter at kpop companies and start training in a kind of "traine school". some idols has training for 6-7 years, and others are luckier to debut after 2 years of training.
In this "trainee school" they study music, singing, dancing, rap, stage presence, languages, global influence and many other things. they go through weekly and monthly evaluations, presentations where they write their lyrics, arrangements and so on. many idols help produce their own music. even though they are handled by professionals, they still have a say about what they want and are free to use their creativity
Blackpink is different from other groups, their are from a company call "YG entertainment" from South Korea. YG has a lot of hip hop influence, because it was created by "Yang Hyun-suk" who is the CEO of YG. and he was part of a group when he was young, he was a rapper and a really good dancer, that's why all the artists of YG are big and powerful
My wife is Chinese. I got to laugh how. the stereotype asian woman is more submissive. Good luck with that, if you ever decide to go that route. ;)
They have all released solos, and Lisa owns the UA-cam record for most views in 24 hours. She beat Taylor Swift with like 77 million views in 24 hours.
The whole Asian women are submissive is a fallacy. Once you get to know the cultures and the people you will find that there is a whole amalgam of personalities. Also it really does depend on the individual ethnicities even within the same country. Especially now. In general the "passport bros" tend to go to south east asia as the more of what you term traditional women's role is more prevalent. Oh and traditional and submissive are not necessarily the same thing.
Don't compare American music to kpop they're not disteny child and there's no beyonce in the group they are equally talented and equally good musicians their company had iOS certification so they are 99.9% organic
they literally look like every rap video I’ve seen in America in this. That’s why I Like August D,, i’ve seen him incorporate traditional, Korean fashion, and culture in his videos. I was just making commentary on everything I saw in this video.
@@BlackPegasusRaps lol You just saw one video of them and now you're saying that they're like every rap video in America they have always put a touch of their traditional Korean culture in their music videos check out pink venom or how you like that by them don't judge a book by its cover
@@merna.pink1998 that’s what I’m trying to explain. I’m just reacting to this video. When people give me recommendations, I’ll react to more and I will give a non-biased opinion. I’m not saying this is all they can do. Just saying that’s what I saw from this video. Also, I highlighted how talented they are and beautiful. They’re amazing.
@@BlackPegasusRaps then i hope you watch pink venom and see for yourself and i will watch it
@Slay Couleé I'm sorry you feel that way but I disagree it may not be my favorite but i chose it specially because he thinks that they don't put their traditional culture in their songs and copy the American typical mvs so I suggested pink venom because it is most suitable song that has the Korean culture touch in it especially the instrumental part and i also suggested how you like that so
American? No, they do it better!

it's 4 members (Lisa, Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo)
the name "BLACKPINK" show the two different sides of the girls. "black" means that their are savage and powerful, and "pink" means their are pretty, cute, sexy and funny
their literally have a song call "pretty savage" (the lyrics are fire)
Who said they can't write? Rosé wrote all her solo songs. Jennie wrote her rap verses and her new solo song as well. The thing is their company yg is really controlling so they don't let them write or produce to their group title tracks
The breakout member is definetly Jennie, she's the IT-girl of the group.
Always the most mentioned member no matter where they are,Coachella for example shows that perfectly.
She's the ACE of the group, meaning that she's talented in every aspect: Singing,Rapping,Dancing,Songwriting,Producing and Composing.
She's recently been invited to the met Gala, other than that she's putting out a collab with the Weeknd and starring in the Tv-show "The Idol" which will have its first screening at the Cannes Film Festival which Jennie will also attend.
She's the Global ambassador of various brands like Chanel,Calvin Klein Gentle Monster, Tamburins, Hera and so many more; she has designed two Sunglass collections, one Calvin Klein Collection and her own Porsche Car in Collaboration with Porsche.
As you see Jennie really is thee IT-Girl.
Dude!! Most mentioned in coachella or in any other occasions it's Lisa, the most tweeted and most popular member of the group and any female idol
Blackpink sold out worldwide during their most recent tour. Broke records at each location.
the name blackpink meanis "pretty isn't everything" and symbolized that "they are a team that encompasses not only beauty, but also great talent."
Tnx fellow blink 💜
please make your reactions to blackpink much more you will find the answer why they have billions of views
BLACKPINK IS THE HOTTEST GROUP NOW 👑
Regarding the use of english, the ladies normally perform in either an english-korean mix (some tracks are entirely english) or a japanese-english mix for their japanese performances - Japan is the second biggest music market after the USoA.
You may think their use of two, let alone three, languages is something special, but between them they cover at least 8 languages to at least a basic level - 4 fluently, partly because they're from 3 different countries and learned Japanese as part of their training.
They have all released solo work but they all make the group their priority, usually turning up to support each other during the filming of their solo M/Vs.
You may have heard of some of the people they've worked with - Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez (on a song co-written by Arianna Grande), Dua Lipa and Cardi B.
Incidentally, regarding Miss Grande - remember back in '19 when she set all those viewing and down-load records on UA-cam? The records people said would take a long time to beat, but only lasted a week? THIS is the video that broke her records just a week later.
Oh, yes, 1.7 Billion isn't really that extra-ordinary for them - they have at least six vid's with over a Billion views with one being a DANCE PRACTICE, but they've just the single M/V with over 2 Billion...
Don't let the views mislead you, some people watch many, many times - look at the 'likes' number to get a better idea.
Or, look at the subscriber base - over 88 million - that's the #1 of any artist(s) by over 15 million, and #11 of ALL YT channels - not just in Korea, not just in Asia - that's of ALL YT channels.
They are very active in producing content - check out their channel www.youtube.com/@BLACKPINK/featured - and interacting with their fan-base, which helps.
I'll let others tell you about their Coachella shows in '19, their head-lining this year, their global charting and chart toping songs and albums...
I'll give you a good example. Their most popupar song internationally is called DDU-DU DDU-DU. On UA-cam it has 2B views currently. The reason why is that it essentially pushed girl crush kpop into a mainstream international audience in 2018 when the fervor for kpop was getting explosive. UA-cam algorithms in 2017-2021 also allowed for videos like this to reach more people. Despacito has 8B views because it was an international hit. BLINKs, their fans, are super loyal, and called "monster streamers" so we keep the views coming.
the members are: Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo
Only rosé, jennie and lisa are fluent in english. And only jennie doesn't have a tattoo. Lisa has 4 tattoos.
Jisoo and Jennie are actresses.
You got it right. There's a team behind them. BlackPink are performers. But let's get off our high horse. It's simple pop. Pop by its own meaning is meant for popular audience.
Every k-pop group has a team of producers and writers.
Some get credit for being involved, some don't get credits, some idols write on their own entirely. But majority have a team of producers and writers.
It's not a bad thing.
Even western artists use writers and producers, lady gaga always has 3-4 writers for songs.
In India, lyricist write the song and vocalist sing the song.
Nobody calls them just performers.
But it's highlighted more when it comes to K-pop.
They don’t have tattoos bc tattoos were not allowed in their companies and tattoos are also considered as something bad in east asian countries
but now almost every idol got tattoos but they have to hide them
It’s not allowed for an idol/artist to show their tattoos openly
You are spot on that American women being masculine. Here in America, men have not only women but 100000 other smart ones that get offended if misgendered to worry about. 😂😂😂😂
Blackpink is different than any other kpop group. The reason Blackpink has billions of views is that they are the only band that is popular in almost every country in the world.
Im also 40 years old you seen those kind of setup of a group but i will guys destiny child, spice girls etc... Dont come close to blackpink when it comes to live performance music video is different from live
The stupidity of this comment made my IQ drop several points. We are all stupider now from having read this.
It’s funny you mentioned seeing them as more American than Korean. They are pushing boundaries.
BlackPink members are alL ambassadors for LUXURY fashion brands and jewellers.
Jennie - Chanel
Lisa - Celine
Rosé - YSL
Jisoo- Dior, Cartier
BlackPink are the top most followed Kpop artists on instagram and the MOST SUBSCRIBED act in the WORLD surpassing Justin Bieber
They’re all “Beyoncés”,
they have solo projects that go just as crazy as their Black Pink group, it’s as crazy.
Stupid numbers
Speaking as a western supporter of Blackpink, they are indeed a supergroup that is built to be successful, not something that came up by chance. But honestly, I don't really care, as long as I enjoy the final product they are selling. And yes, kpop (and south korea in general) is heavily influenced by usa's culture. It's the country more similar to the West in Asia and they have a huge entertainment industry (both music and movies) and technology (Samsung for example). I love kpop because they successfully blend a lot of genres that, taken by themselves, I don't really like. But I love the mix. And another thing that it's harder for newcomers to understand about kpop is the connection to the idols, they put their life in display since they still have to debut, and you get to follow all their struggles, so you form a bond with them. Plus, the idols usually are extremely humble people, very down to earth, much much different from the usual huge western star. All these factors contribute to the kpop popularity. Oh, and you asked about who's gonna leave the group to become a star... Blackpink members all have also solo projects, and they have been extremely successful also as soloists. They are all huge superstars, not just as a group.
BLACKPINK also set records (that are now broken by BTS) for views within 24 hours (86.4M) views on their song How You Like That.. That song broke 100M the next day... and 6 days after that broke 200M... BUT ... almost all of their music videos have 1 Billion Views.. DDU-DU-DDU-DU has over 2 billion views... their producer's name is Teddy Park
They headlined Coachella 2023 THIS year ... yes the music festival in Arizona... THAT COACHELLA..
Jennie (The first girl you saw) is the global ambassador for Chanel (YES, THAT CHANEL, (the Luxury Designer brand) AS well as Calvin Klein and Porsche
Lisa (The girl in the shopping cart) is the global ambassador for Celine (Luxury Brand) ALONG with Bulgari (YES another Luxury brand) and is also a global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics
Rose (The girl singing and running away from the car while simultaneously driving it) is a global ambassador for Yves Saint-Laurent (Another Luxury Brand) (she showed up at the Met Gala in 2022 with their creative director in a custom made outfit She was also named a global ambassador for Tiffany&Co in 2021
Jisoo (the girl firing the burning arrow) is a global ambassador for Dior (YES that Dior) AND she joined Cartier (YES you guessed... another luxury brand) as one of their models in May of Last year..
As for the BLINKS (Blackpink's Fandom name) I know people that are anywhere from 5 years old to 45 years old of all races, sizes, and BOTH genders that are huge fans of them WORLDWIDE.. AND yes you guys are right... these ladies SELLOUT every SINGLE venue they perform at for their performances regardless of where they perform at in the world.
Furthermore, the girls have singles with US or American Pop Superstars...
Sour Candy - With Lady Gaga
Ice Cream - With Selena Gomez
Kiss & Make up - with Dua Lipa
Bet You Wanna - With Cardi B
Furthermore , 5 days ago on May 11 2023 Jennie was at a party for one of the brands she represents (Calvin Klein) and she released a 40-50 second snippet of an unreleased single that is coming out at some point (no confirmed release date) BUT It's her and The Weekend.
So... yes BLACKPINK is in fact the female version of BTS and they are MASSIVE.
The members of BP worked for YG for almost five years, with no guarantee that they'd ever be "released" as a group... YG didn't just pick the best at the time and throw them together,
For what it's worth, hip hop and rap did as much to dishonor 65+ years of black musicians and singers, who had actual talent, as Covid-19 did to humanity.
BlackPink is so popular even among the kids who rule UA-cam views. Some even want to grow up to become a K-Pop artist. That is how crazy it is
BLACKPINK write their own songs, but their company YG doesn't give them credits for it always. In a V-Live, Jennie mentioned that she had a journal/notebook in which she had written many lyrics by herself but one day, she couldn't find it. Later, she got to know that the staff took it away from her because of YG's orders.
More blackpink! You won't be disappointed!!
Kpop means Korean pop.
And Korean culture is very different from China and Japan even though it is the same East Asia.
These guys think that black pink is an extention to american pop!
I have no idea why he is talking Japanese culture as if it would be similar in South Korea. That's quite ignorant generalisation of two different cultures.
I cant wait to see the next video where they found out all the members are extremely popular each 4 of them
Elon was right when he said " World will end if we develop Immortality, Because ppl don't like to change "
What was the age? 40s? Umm... Sir... It's never late to get rid of prejudices, and it's never late to be Mentally in 40s too💀
nah Asia just dwarfs US population by a mile. So when Asians get known world wide they get Billion level views.
I really don't like lazy youtubers!😂 look up what you're reacting too!! #Firstandlasttimehere
Almost the polar opposite of Ren. It's cool how you can appreciate both at the same time.
The Korean on his ask a Korean website did a great series on Korean popular music from 1945 onwards. It's a really fascinating story.
i mean they even headlined coachella 😅 and they all have their own solos
Okay so you guys are 40s and are at least open minded. While BP has been modeled after girl groups of the 90s-2000s, they are the best at that genre at the present. Nobody does it like they do which is why they are refreshing to the eyes. They dont have to strip naked to sell, but their songs are all bangerz. Yes, they do get writing credit for the songs. Yes, each member has solo projects so they can prove to you they are all talented and they shine on their own, but as a group???They are majestic. Watch their live Coachella performances or other BP music videos and u'll know what I mean.
Also, the name BlackPink refers to two side of femininity. The dark and light side, because while they are all beauties and feminine, they still give off a rock IDGF vibe (yessss they have explicit songs too). BP has been making hits since 2017 and they definitely dont need bots to rank up the billion views. The amount of reactors and soldout concerts wud just tell u why they dont need it
Modern doesn’t equal American. Korea is very modern and there culture is evident in their songs, outfits, and style. Being female with attitude, very Korean. You have so much to lean about other cultures
One thing you should consider when talking about the size of the views/ fan base for Asian boy/girl groups especially, is the population of Asia. China ALONE has almost a third of the global population. And they're neighboring Korea, so it wouldn't be unusual for them to share some pop music. That's a HUGE target audience right there. And that's not including western audiences or others who enjoy their music as well.
AMAZING BORN PINK ALBUM
i felt like they were just giving back handed compliments such a weird video reaction
BP 4th gen YG try Babymonster 5th gen YG whole new level of K-pop. 300m views in 6 months debut sheesh in 3 rappers 5 vocalists. Every song is a hit. Flawless live performances. I believe 4 Koreans, 1 Thai, 2 Japanese. BlackPink helped train them. They go nuts for Blackpink in Japan and Korea. Babymonster did Japanese concert about a week ago. Volume of the crowd was insane. They did some evaluation solo stuff. Ruka, Asa, Rami, Ahyeon, Rora, P,harita, and Chiquita. They will be the first truly international K-pop group imo. Rami and Ahyeon did covers during evaluation that made billboard charts.
Anthony was trying to help your channel out by putting you onto BP reactions and the blink fandom. Sucks that your first video started off so poorly.
Blackpink sure thing Miguel cover plisss!!!
Greeting from Europe!
BLACKPINK is made up of Jisoo who grew up in Korea, Lisa in Thailand, Rosè in Australia and Jennie was born in South Korea but studied in New Zealand for a few years.
OMG I've been watching your HMack reactions for so long, but now that you're also doing BLACKPINK I'm fosho gonna sub!
