Probably 2 these are strong
both my Nero 5's broke down after 2 years of use without means to repair them cost affectively. They would move then stop with a flashing red light error. At their price this is a pass...
neewb question here, the Nero series, do they work with IceCap batterie backup? I wanna set one up, but all the info on compatibilities are kind of confusing.
They do not. Buy an Octopulse. Better value, way more reliable and quieter.
Is this going to be too big for a 100 gallon?
These are definitely on my upgrade list. But honestly, how hard would it have been for Ai to name them based on their flow? Lack of forethought I guess. Nero3-3,000gph, Nero4-4k, Etc… seems more logical
Just bought 4 of these the day BRS listed them. Going to replace my Ecotech MP40QDs so I will have directional control and so that I won't have to wake up to 2 of the 4 MP40 wetsides falling off three times a week 😂
Is this really happening so much? I was looking for the MP40. Now i am not sure 🙈
@@eldenfuerst69 I think they've improved them. I liked the MP40s better now that I've used these Nero 7s. Nero are good, but MP40s are better.
I've been hoping Nero pumps would drop in price. They're WAY overpriced. 180 bucks for a Nero 3 wave pump?! Hard pass.
Edit: According to the BRS reviews they are overpriced and unreliable (they break easily and last only a few months.) Mine is still going strong in the two years of owning it. I've been wanting to buy a second but they're just too damn pricey for a wave pump. Overpriced and bad quality is not a good sign from what was once a respectable company.
I have a Nero 3 in my nano and I gotta admit, it looks pretty sleek and does its job well. That being said, if I needed something as big as the Nero 7, I would just spend a bit extra and get an MP40. No cords in the tank means less potential for your livestock to get zapped, and they seem to last forever. They're also a damn cool piece of equipment.

Good product but not a fan of their wire being inside the tank wish they recreate new ones with wire outside the tank and take advantage of that magnet capability
That child parent thing. Does it actually work now? Didn't work with Nero 5s
I’ve had 5 Nero 3’s at this point. 3 were replaced before a year under warranty because they would bind up even with regular cleaning. Will never buy them again. My Octopulse is quieter, more powerful and WAY more reliable.
