    Ugghhhh....... Seeing the white room with different colored spots I got an amazing idea. It would be really cool if you'd just start off with a plain white room and then give every person who goes there a sticker or a bit of paint so that they can put it wherever they want to.
    .
    .
    .
    And then I got to the part where they explain the idea of the room.... fml

      Nah! When you're trippin' the things that actually trip you out the most seem to be ordinary or mundane. We see things like these exhibits and think to ourselves, "This would be awesome to look at while trippin". But if you actually did look at it after takin' shrooms or some other mind-altering substance with visual hallucinogenic properties, it would seem normal. Everyone else would be amazed at the art. But you would be standing in the corner staring at a chip in the paint with a scuff mark from someone's shoe intensely fixated on the floor molding. LMFAO

    I see this as the blank canvas of life. Everyone is invited to leave their mark show thier talent and individuality, their unique creativity. The problem is that the world is filled with so many people, so many colors, so many little stickers. And here the artist is saying "you have one chance, how will you stand out?"

    One day entire cities will be similar to her vision, using AI deep fake software and architecture modeling and the right AR smart glasses just imagine what you could come up with if we all had the ability to sticker our world in polka dots - take the glasses off and the world remains unchanged. To walk down a street enter an alley and suddenly an artist has recreated chapels and greek columns and infinite loops of galactic spirals. Take your glasses off and you're about to walk into a puddle of trash and an overflowing dumpster. Glasses back on and that plane overhead resembles an eagle or flying squirrel, look to the train station and a giant rollie pollie is screeching through a subway tunnel.

    Errr... I was about to upvote her work by saying this is what modern art should look like but when it got to the part where people put the polka dots on the wall, to me that's a turn off - it's a product of random chance like a scatter plot and not the product of the artist. Those other art pieces look wonderful.

    • @KrausHyperOpera
      @KrausHyperOpera 6 років тому +5

      I had sort of the opposite reaction myself. I think there's something very interesting about the way that the dots still cluster into aesthetically pleasing groups, even though they're all placed by random people. I doubt that most of the people who go to the exhibit place them in an entirely mindless way (for instance, the dots on the hanging lights in the back are placed in a roughly symmetrical fashion). So you get patterns emerging from nothing more than the aesthetic proclivities of those seeing the exhibit.

      It's amazing. She's created an experience that the viewer can directly interact with. It still has a meaning and a creative process, and she's engaging you personally. It's art, maybe more like performance art, but it's art.

    • @ederadee
      @ederadee 6 років тому +2

      Lol bye. The randomness and input from the viewers transcends that stupid boundary in the art world we call "the artist and the beholder are two separate people." I appreciate how it breaks that.

    • @YourMajesty143
      @YourMajesty143 5 років тому +2

      And what is art but an interaction between the artist and the spectator? And isn't all interpretation of art, individual and random? Why do the dots have to be placed strategically in order to be considered "true" art? Where did you get the idea that art is supposed to be so rigid? I don't think you quite understand how art works. It's meant to behave or look how the artist wants it to appear and be represented how the interpreter chooses to view it. It's a dialogue, and yet you want to impose your language on it. How limiting.

    • @Evtrex13
      @Evtrex13 Рік тому
