Bo doesn't repeat himself often (repeat stuff literally makes fun of the laziness of writing that way) but he repeats, "my love is the type of thing you have to earn and when you earn it, you won't need it". There's a lot in this song, but that line honestly sums up the "perspective" of this song.

Appreciate your responses! I like hearing how some of those powerful lines hit home and you give them a nice, serious thought. Also personally as someone with severe depression, anxiety, and other mental health stuff right now, I appreciate you having a personal look at some of Burnham's big themes. I recommend "Welcome to the Internet" and "All Eyes on Me" (maybe with the little bits leading up to that second one) if you're able to. I know they're on youtube and you might really dig them! (also go White Sox lol)
This may have already been brought to your attention Cliff, but while it was widely believed when the Kanye Rant song came out that the Pringles and Chipotle parts were believed to be metaphors, me being one of those people, Bo has since come out and stated that they weren't actually meant to be metaphors. They really were just there to be funny parts of the song. While this does take a little bit of the substance away from the song, it's still a great song, and the second half of it still has great meaning and feelings behind it. Personally I like to think that Bo chose those lines subconsciously, and the metaphors were there, but unrealized. : )
@THEANSWER A small correction first, it's not what is the metaphor, but what I thought the metaphor was. Just making sure I clarify that. If memory serves, what I thought when I first heard the song, was that the Pringles that he couldn't fit his hand into was a metaphor of how Bo didn't quite fit in the Hollywood and entertainment industry. Basically at first he couldn't quite get to level he wanted, but then when he did, it came too fast and it was just too overwhelming and lacked substance. Just like when he tilts the Pringles can and it goes pouring all over his face. Essentially the Chipotle part falls under a similar vein as the Pringles did. But I won't bore you with that one.
Such a brilliant fucking song, and after hearing it, it really makes you want to change your ways. Unfortunately, I heard it when I was deep into addiction, but hearing it now has hit me in a whole new way.

Hey, man, just wanted to drop some helpful tips about Bo. I'm terms of what you'd need to watch to be "familiar" with Bo, all you really need to see is the first three comedy specials before Inside: Words Words Words (his first comedy special circa 2010, lots of allegories and wordplay), What (The same special this song is from, which features more social commentary and criticism about harmful cultural practices, circa 2013) and Make Happy (his introspective comedy special that explores the parasocial/self-destructive relationship between a comedian or content creator and their audience, circa 2016). A lot of Bo's content is specifically written and produced to try making the audience think about larger and more nebulous concepts and their place in them, as well as encouraging them to question social norms for various economies of industry. Bo's both thought provoking and critical, yet humorous, all at the same time. As far as reactable content goes, I recommend the following songs: "Words Words Words", "Oh Bo", "What's Funny", Ironic", "Eff"( the rant from WWW), "Art Is Dead", "Sad", "Left Brain, Right Brain", "#Deep", "We Think We Know You", "Repeat Stuff", "Nerds", "Channel 5", "Hell of A Ride", "Straight White Male", "Pandering", "Kill Yourself", and "Are You Happy". These are definitely his best works. Each one has something different to note and critique while still being (subjectively) hilarious. Please check these out. It doesn't have to be in order, of course. Piecemeal is fine when and as you find a video to react to, just stop long as you look further into the world of Bo Burnham. :)
It hits with both believers and non believers because it isnt a positive or negative view of god. Its simply neutral. How we ourselves feel towards most of our own creations.

Watching intelligent people understand and enjoy Bo is my only comfort these days. Goddammit I think I need meds.
Just watch all of Inside! Do it in the channel!
You should react to repeat stuff, such a good song and comment on pop music industry.

Hey cliff! Love your stuff! Check out Manchester Orchestra - The Silence
It hits with both believers and non believers because it isnt a positive or negative view of god. Its simply neutral. How we ourselves feel towards most of our own creations.
That would be the only god that could save me.
Why does this feel like something whatever god that exits in the universe would sing
You should check out country song
