I have few queries regarding the fashion industry. I am from IT background with 10 years experience. But I want to get into fashion industry. I did few short courses of shoe designing and fashion designing here in India. But I want to relocate to UK. I had applied for fashion design masters but couldn’t get the course as I do not have bachelors degree in it. I got some Luxury brand management courses but not sure if I wana do that.
Can you suggest me some Masters courses which will help me to enter the fashion industry? I can’t do 2-3 years degree course if wana start from scratch. What are the alternatives?
As an American I find it hilarious that you think $14,000 for a degree is expensive. Here a Fashion Design Degree can cost $90,000 - $100,000. If college was that affordable here more people would go to college.
that would be because in America u have more chanes in life for a better pay - if that makes sense and in the uk the average salary of a middle wage is 30k though half of the people in the uk aren't even working at a minimum wag e and are being payed 100-500 a month so ye.
Thank you for this video. Does the UK really not have open enrollment universities with a BA in fashion design? I would like to learn, but I have no experience and therefore no portfolio. I just like the simplicity of being able to enroll into a school without having to prove that I’m already magically a professional designer in order to get an education.
I could be wrong here but you can always apply for a Art and Design Foundation diploma to build your portfolio. Like the woman in the video mentioned, some unis might want you to do a foundation diploma beforehand.

Hi Kim. Thanks for the video. The British Academy of Fashion Design classes are part time, so international students do not qualify for a student visa. I already applied for this and have hit a roadblock on what Visa to apply for. Can you please help with any information that could help me

Congratulations on your admission to London college of fashion. Yes you will be able to apply to almost U.K. universities after your diploma if you meet her qualifications. I hope the helps.

Yes you will need to do a foundation diploma. I had to do same with a degree in Microbiology.
