How do you teach a velcro horse to step away when asking them to start a circle? Mine always comes at me. It’s like trying to drop your kid off at daycare for the first time he just doesn’t want to separate. Once I get him started in the actual circle he is wonderful. It’s just the initial getting those front shoulders to step away and go.
This is a great comment! A big part of communicating to your horse to move away is having them understand boundaries and spatial awareness. I have a horse that does this and I also come across this a lot when training horses. You want to be clear with your body language. This will be a good video for me to make!
