    That 4th and 2 play is insane. Just natural, instinctive play you don't see often. He didn't have any of the short routes, the box was stacked so he couldn't run. He went deep and bang!

    Please stop comparing any “athletic” quarterback prospect to Jalen Hurts. Before his success was apparent (Eagles wanted Russell Wilson) everyone knew Hurts was mentally and physically tough and was a relentless worker. The only doubt was if he was talented enough: drive the football and throw with anticipation. Hurts didn’t have the mechanical flaw that Richardson has, kinda loopy and scattered arm. People say you can fix that. History and biomechanics say no. Which is why it’s crazy to draft a raw developmental prospect 4th overall and you have to play him because Richardson’s so raw that he won’t learn nothing by sitting. He’s an “underwear Olympic” prospect. He looks good and he’s “toolsy” but nobody (including Richardson) has any idea if he can actually quarterback. Gl to him and colts fans. JoM

      I agree to a degree neither are 1st round QBs but I only see 1st round QBs deserve a sure thing QBs who are HOF to borderline HOFers. As you only play 1 unless injury. Value of the position is highest when playing but in the draft they are extremely rare. Where OLine you need minimum 5 and you will likely pay 8 or 9 a season. WR you Need 3 and will play 5 if not 6 or 7 during a season. TE 2 and possibly 4 will play. RB while easy to find you need 3 or 4. QB max you will normally play a whole season 2 and only 1 on the field at a time. Skipping on other positions for a QB in the first and not a sure thing is a horrible choice unless you have absolutely no holes on your team. Why I say modern drafts are horrible because how QBs are pushed up when they should not be. While 1 team may get lucky another will be shit for 5 year and start again. Teams should you a metrics system like this I have a Value System.
      1 QB that P Mannings these QBs often are 1 or 2 every 3 to 4 years at best. Look at Manning the next year Tim Couch a bust but everyone would have him as 1 as well. The next year the best QB was Brady the 199th pick in the 6th round. Last year it will likely be Kenny Pickett or Brock Purdy. QB is a must get right pick meaning it isn't a pick you should be drafting ever 5 year in the draft only when a Manning like QB who everyone believes is a guarantee HOF or will at worst be Philip Rivers.

      You don't take Project QBs in the 1st round. 2nd okay 3rd round yes absolutely fine. Mean 1st round is the floor is Pro Bowl player minimum Ceiling is HOFer. Too many players are Projects being taken. Which is great for other teams. Anyone looking at Mahomes saying Project is full of shit. His tape is GOAT arm talent with no talent around him. Josh Allen almost the same story but even less talent and Will Levis had top 20 recruiting talent at Kentucky and Penn State and he wasn't that guy.

    As a Giants fan I feel the Colts are the best team Anthony Richardson has ever played with. He is coming in to a stacked team with 2 really good receivers and a good rook at the slot with a solid O-line and great RB. You got the former Eagles O-Coordinator as a new head coach who did wonders with Hurts in a very. short period of time and that alone will help Richardson tremendously with his mechanics. Richardson is already showing signs of big improvements in accuracy and pocket movement. I think the Colts will be a playoff team this year.

    I've been meaning to find some videos to take a look at some of the higher qb draft prospects the Colts can potentially get. This is my first one I've watched and I like your argument, tho it was really sketchy in the first couple of minutes. It's always an iffy proposition isn't it? Wentz's mechanics went back into the crapper after his first injury with the Eagles and he never seemed to completely recover, so there's that comparison. However, what I really like as you've shown is Richardson's willingness to look downfield even under pressure and his ability to diagnose defenses. If he stays on it, he can have a really bright future provided he ends up with a team and coach that know what they're doing. That's the other big kicker. Anthony definitely looks like he has the talent to succeed at the next level based off this video.

    Fair assessment, but if you watched all of his games you'd know that most of the positives you highlighted are things that Richardson is still learning (especially throwing with touch) and is not actually consistent at yet. He's shown the abilities though, if he can put it all together he can be great.

  • @ethanwilliams2428
    @ethanwilliams2428 Рік тому +1

    First throw you blamed AR mechanics for a miss. They issue was the receiver. Richardson attempted to lead his receiver upfield for a gain but the play was sniffed out fast. Receiver got caught lookin at the defenders closing in. WR didn’t trust the leading pass and took his eyes off the ball to look at the defense. Not great mechanics but ball was where it should be in that situation.

    • @ethanwilliams2428
      @ethanwilliams2428 Рік тому

      And second throw he threw it to the dirt. Bc once again play was snuffed out before it began. He hits his receiver there he takes a massive hit for a loss. Might have been a miss, but if it was any other place than the dirt much worse things would happen than just an incompletion.

    Thanks Cian. I began reevaluating after watching Joe Klatt's video on Richardson being a good fit for the Raiders. He's right in distinguishing him over Jamarcus Russell, and I would also add Terrell Pryor. I'm understanding how our views of him as Raider fans can be jaded. However, your excellent breakdown further enhances my enthusiasm for this unique opportunity that Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels have to go for the Home Run Swing here. In the best division of QBs in the NFL, now is not the time to play Prevent Offense! Stop handing the bal off or throwing checkdowns. Al Davis' old AFL legacy calls out. Bill King's voice is still not extinguished. Kenny the Snake Stabler's clutch comeback drives beckon to all red-blooded, true Raider fans! Go for the jugular. Guys like Cam, Lamar, Fields while not finished products at all used their incredible physical talent to take over games over and over because college athletes just couldn't stop what they had.
