Please stop comparing any “athletic” quarterback prospect to Jalen Hurts. Before his success was apparent (Eagles wanted Russell Wilson) everyone knew Hurts was mentally and physically tough and was a relentless worker. The only doubt was if he was talented enough: drive the football and throw with anticipation. Hurts didn’t have the mechanical flaw that Richardson has, kinda loopy and scattered arm. People say you can fix that. History and biomechanics say no. Which is why it’s crazy to draft a raw developmental prospect 4th overall and you have to play him because Richardson’s so raw that he won’t learn nothing by sitting. He’s an “underwear Olympic” prospect. He looks good and he’s “toolsy” but nobody (including Richardson) has any idea if he can actually quarterback. Gl to him and colts fans. JoM

You got the former Eagles O-Coordinator as a new head coach who did wonders with Hurts in a very. short period of time and that alone will help Richardson tremendously with his mechanics. Richardson is already showing signs of big improvements in accuracy and pocket movement. I think the Colts will be a playoff team this year.

I've been meaning to find some videos to take a look at some of the higher qb draft prospects the Colts can potentially get. This is my first one I've watched and I like your argument, tho it was really sketchy in the first couple of minutes. It's always an iffy proposition isn't it? Wentz's mechanics went back into the crapper after his first injury with the Eagles and he never seemed to completely recover, so there's that comparison. However, what I really like as you've shown is Richardson's willingness to look downfield even under pressure and his ability to diagnose defenses. If he stays on it, he can have a really bright future provided he ends up with a team and coach that know what they're doing. That's the other big kicker. Anthony definitely looks like he has the talent to succeed at the next level based off this video.
Fair assessment, but if you watched all of his games you'd know that most of the positives you highlighted are things that Richardson is still learning (especially throwing with touch) and is not actually consistent at yet. He's shown the abilities though, if he can put it all together he can be great.
Frfr it reminds me of Chris drafting Pat to the Chiefs. People thought that was crazy 🤪 to but 2 Superbowl rings later not so much. Pat had a similar record at Tech to AR (Pat threw for almost 4,000 yards though)at Florida, but AR did it in a tougher SEC so Im optimistic.😊
First throw you blamed AR mechanics for a miss. They issue was the receiver. Richardson attempted to lead his receiver upfield for a gain but the play was sniffed out fast. Receiver got caught lookin at the defenders closing in. WR didn’t trust the leading pass and took his eyes off the ball to look at the defense. Not great mechanics but ball was where it should be in that situation.
And second throw he threw it to the dirt. Bc once again play was snuffed out before it began. He hits his receiver there he takes a massive hit for a loss. Might have been a miss, but if it was any other place than the dirt much worse things would happen than just an incompletion.
Thanks Cian. I began reevaluating after watching Joe Klatt's video on Richardson being a good fit for the Raiders. He's right in distinguishing him over Jamarcus Russell, and I would also add Terrell Pryor. I'm understanding how our views of him as Raider fans can be jaded. You don't typically get a large sample size with college prospects no matter who they are. In 13 games you'll likely see the same as you'll see in 30. It's all about projection of what they *could* be and whether they're likely or not to become that.
