Nimoy is awesome as Xehanort and will never be topped in my book. Although I was one of the few who didn’t hate Hauers performance as Xehanort but Lloyd is probably close as we are going to get as a successor to Nimoy but that is fine with me. What voice do you like the most?
NImoy is the best, that deep gravelly voice, perfect, hauer, it was closse butnot very good comparatively. Lloyd did fantastic though, getting a mix of both in
Nimoy will always have the most unique voice, it's downright iconic! But, my gut says Lloyd is my fave. One, his voice just naturally lends itself to the role, he sounds like an old wizard! And two, he's just a damn good actor. He was thrown into this role out of left field and he sold every line he was given! And for posterity over here, none of this praise discredits the other two. Xehanort has been given nothing but good actors for his english roles.
Leonard Nimoy will always be the true Master Xehanort for me.I like Rutger Hauer's performance,I think he did a fine job.But Christopher Lloyd as Xehanort was much better than Hauer,he totally nailed the role like Nimoy did.I love the way Lloyd said some lines, especially during the Data fight, for example:"Give me power" or "Enlighten me" and many others.
Leonard Nimoy REALLY knew what he was doing when voicing Xehanort. Hauer's performance, while not awful, just didn't seem to be on par with Nimoy's. Listening to Christopher Lloyd was by far the best replacement, so good that at times I called Xehanort "Rasputin" as it was a character Lloyd voiced over 20 years ago!
I think Nimoy and Llloyd both added a certain sort of theatricality to their portrayals that shines through while Hauer played it slightly more straight.
I think considering how little experience Rutger Hauer really had as an actor despite technically having a long career, and how much less experience he had voice acting, his performance is admirable. But Nimoy is definitely better. Rutger's performance is mainly made more awkward by the fact that his voice doesn't match very closely with Nimoy's at all.
Isn’t it weird yet awesome that all older Keyblade Masters are voiced by Sci-Fi Legends? Xehanort: Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Rutger Hauer (Roy Batty), Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) Eraqus: Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) Yen Sid: Corey Burton (Count Dooku)

Hauer actually does make a really good Master Xehanort. The problem is that he comes in after Nimoy and has absolutely none of Nimoy's inflections or tone of voice, besides being an old man. I know I'm stating the obvious, but if Hauer voiced Master Xehanort since BBS, it wouldn't be so awkward.
I didn't say Hauer is bad ... But his sound is too young, if I'd say, and not passionly wicked enough ... I know Lloyd still can't compete with Nimoy, but he was close, atleast closer compared to Hauer ... If he ever voice acting another character that a little bit younger like 50-80ish, and a formal cunning villain, I bet he'll fit there ... But MX character is much older, and more insanely evil ...
@@kyestar88 and both Nimoy and Lloyd nailed that aspect perfectly. They made Xehanort sound like a twisted, psychotic, but eccentric old man. Especially Lloyd's. Hauer's voice is just a little too soothing and calming.

I imagine Hauer saw Master Xehanort as someone who believes he has absolute control, and that he had all the time in the world to achieve his goals.
I gotta say I love Lloyd as Master Xehanort. He has that campy, menacing bravado to a very VERY dangerous foe that I felt Rutger Hauer was missing. Although to his credit, I find Hauer's voice to be very soothing and nice to hear.

I remember when we were all wondering who would originally replace Leonard Nimoy, I had Christopher Lloyd in my wishlist of actors to play Xehanort. I was surprised to hear his voice when watching the first cutscene lol
I thought all three were phenomenal and I enjoyed their performances. Of course, none can top Nimoy's iconic voice, however I can applaud Hauer's unique approach, and Lloyd stepping in was a treat to us 90s era folk. Overall, it has been quite the LONG journey for us all, and voice actors were coming in and out through the years. The role of Master Xehanort has by far been the most interesting story-wise and casting.
I think the true Master Xehanort will always be Leonard Nimoy,he sounded so evil, calm and creepy at the same time.I like Rutger Hauer's performance as well,he did a good job, especially during Master Xehanort's death scene.Christopher Lloyd is my second favourite Xehanort,he nailed the role like Nimoy did.Lloyd sounded like Judge Doom while delivering some lines, another pure evil villain like Xehanort that Lloyd portrayed.
I have known Xehanort since BBS, and I feel that the three actors featured here have all brought their own range of talent to this character. Though if I had to choose a favorite version, I'd say Christopher Lloyd would be it.
I love every voice for different reasons, but I feel like Hauer’s is woefully underrated. His ending speech after his defeat truly feels like the emotional unravellings of a tired old man, and I’m not sure that would have come across as much with the other actor’s more exaggerated and theatrical performances.
Nimoy was phenomenal for xehanort obviously I loved hauer performance in kh3. Especially in the ending But Lloyd is probably my favorite xD idk how to explain it but i love the personality his voice gives to xeha However Hauer has the most emotional MX out of the three It's hard to rank them xD
Rutger is perfect for the poetry side of the voice, Leonard for the sinister and devious bits and Doc Brown does the grader of final speeches so perfectly
imo Nimoy Was and forever will be Him no Matter What. Rest in Peace Nimoy as we Know this day was Him the Lord Xehanort... we All know it as he Made Him...
There’s no one like Nimoy who does Xehanort better. Hauer did a fine job but I think Lloyd makes a better replacement. Doc Brown should’ve been the one to do Xehanort’s voice from the start of Kingdom Hearts 3 since they both have to do with time travel.
I think had Christopher Lloyd started doing it from the beginning I would think he’s the best. Nimoys voice was so perfect for the part and it sucks he wasn’t able to finish playing this iconic character, but I think Christopher Lloyd is a fine replacement.
Nimoy: The OG and trailblazer, and a guy who made me really wish he did more video games before he unfortunately passed on. Hauer: Depicted the sadness and weight of a man lost in his own schemes, and the heaviness of his age. Lloyd: A synthesis between the two, with a more humanistic edge, even a mischievous malice that SHOULDN'T fit him, but somehow is made to fit by the actor. Great Scott!
And, perhaps quite fittingly, Lloyd also played Kruge, the Klingon villain in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, the film that saw Leonard Nimoy take the director's chair _and_ return as Spock after the previous film, The Wrath of Khan, had killed the character off.
I always thought Cyberchase and Kingdom Hearts would make for a potentially good crossover. Christopher Lloyd (the Hacker's voice actor) does not disappoint. ;)
Lloyd's "what?!" Is kinda a bit iffy but I didn't mind it. One thing, out of all his planning, decades of it, so close to victory, he didn't expect them to have a trick up their sleeves.
I got attached to Hauer's voice after Re:Mind. I loved him in Bladerunner, so maybe I'm biased, but I just found his voice to be sinister in a sort of passive-aggressive kind of way.
Rutger Haur did a fantastic job following Nimoy’s voice, but Loyd captured the essence of Xehanort’s personality more in my opinion. They were all great. Leonard Nimoy, Rutger Hair and Christopher Loud are such legends and no one would be worthier to do the voice work for such an amazing villain. I hope we see Mark Hamill return to voice Luke for Kingdom Hearts IV.
Lloyd is honestly my favourite. Raspy like Nimoy was, but with more of the devious tone the original japanese voice had, you can feel that Xehanort loves what he's doing, and his inflexions fit the facial expressions really well. Perfect choice, better than the previous two even if they were great actors as well.
Haur was a good actor, but sadly he was more tame than Xehanort should have been. "Show me the world to come" should have been shouted. However, he did an excellent job at the final battle. Christopher was also pretty good. He sounds more like Xehanort, and has the aggression down pat. RIP, Nimoy & Haur 😢
What's so wierd that Lloyd voice does not sound in place with the cutscenes from the base game from 3 in Remind but when you hear his voice in Melody of Memory it's perfect.
I like Lloyd the best. Mainly because I hear two of my favorite characters he has played when listening to his xehanort. I hear judge doom and a little fester addams in his voice
I'm just going to go ahead and say this but I swear there's a curse on whoever voices xehanort...that at some point in the near future that they will die.... Every single actor that played him has died I don't understand
I do think Lloyd is the ideal successor to Nimoy's Xehanort. As others have said Hauer's performance is by no means bad -- but I think it doesn't follow how the character's cadence is already established. Lloyd not only soundsvlike he has more boom but also has the cunning sinisterness of Nimoy's Xehanort. Hauer's voice lines make him sound a little too calm and satisfied.
I had watched WAAAY too much Cyberchase when I was younger, so when I first heard Christopher Lloyd's Xehanort, all I could hear was THE Hacker. A lot of people are bringing up his role as Rasputin which DEFINITELY is a better mental image than the green man from Cyberchase. With all that being said, while Chris' Xehanort felt off to me at first, I actually can't hear any other voice actor play Xehanort now, he gives him waaay too much character for me to go back to the others. He legit feels like a Disney villain now.
The reason Rutger sounds so different from Nimoy and Lloyd is he doesn`t smoke, doesn`t play up the rasp as much but it`s still there if you listen closely and is clearly trying to suppress his thick Dutch accent to an extent to sound more like his predecessor and successor.
I loved all 3 versions and would order them: 1. Nimoy 2. Lloyd 3. Hauer Nimoy's low, gravelly and menacing voice for Xehanort was so difficult to replace that I think Hauer attempted to go more subtely menacing rather than try a direct impersonation. With Lloyd he really leant into the evil side with gusto.
There was no way they were going to replace Leonard Nimoy in a way that felt right. However, I actually think Rutger Howard wasn't a bad actor for Xehanort when considered on his own and not as a replacement for Leonard Nimoy. He brings this subdued and sinister tone that I think works well for the character. I think if he had lived long enough to continue playing the character then we might've grown into the role a bit more and made something special. Christopher Lloyd isn't bad either, he definitely brings more energy to the role than Hauer did. However, the two performances between these two are so different and it honestly feels like they were both given very different direction on how to play the characters.
I love Nimoy (RIP), Rutger Hauer (RIP) wasn’t a bad voice for Xehanort. But damn does Christopher Lloyd take the cake for the best Xehanort. I’m slightly being biased but that voice of his intimidating af. Also I can’t help but not think of Doc Brown when I hear him lol. Doc Brown unlocking Kingdom Hearts lmao
I didn't play Re:Mind, so I didn't know that Christopher Lloyd voiced him after Hauer's death. I actually first saw Lloyd on-screen as Kruge in The Search For Spock.
Sora: "This is for Kairi! This is for ruining the worlds! And this! This is for you! Dosvedanya!" What? People have made enough Back to the Future and Roger Rabbit jokes in regards to Christopher Lloyd. Any reason I can't throw Anastasia into the mix? ;)
I ADORE Rutger Hauer, but given his vocal range, this did feel phoned in. I've heard him in audio dramas where he's sounded more like Xehanort than he did here... Lloyd lacks some of Nomy's gravitas, but he still does a stellar job with the role.
Tbf Nimoy was the best for old Master Xehanort. He really brought in that villainous flair to him. Hauer, not as much, even though you can tell he was trying his best. Lloyd also did a very good job, but was missing the gravelness of Nimoy.
Rutger Hauer was a truly fantastic actor but it was a bit weird to have a Dutch actor replace an American one, probably should have gone with Lloyd from the beginning.
I didn't know that they brought in Chris Lloyd for Master Xehanort. And since this game deals with time travel all I can see now is Doc Brown with a Key Blade in his Delorean. Screw Mr. Fusion he can cast Thunder!
1:26 Nimoy
10:52 Hauer

I like Lloyd the best. Mainly because I hear two of my favorite characters he has played when listening to his xehanort. I hear judge doom and a little fester addams in his voice
i swear Xehanort became Hacker from Cyberchase
Oh man! Talk about blast from the past! I forgot Lloyd voiced Hacker lol
THE Hacker is in a bit of a higher register and is full of ham and cheese, but I made the same comparison at first too
Nimoy is my favourite exclusively because of the iconic way he says Keyblade at 1:01
I really like Hauer’s performance, but mostly because of the ending of KH3 with how human Xehanort felt when he lost. It was refreshing.
Christopher Lloyd makes an excellent Xehanort btw so much closer to Leonard Nimoy's performance
I'm just going to go ahead and say this but I swear there's a curse on whoever voices xehanort...that at some point in the near future that they will die.... Every single actor that played him has died I don't understand
Mickey: "Gosh! I wonder who he really was! Oh wait now I know!"
1:02 JUST A PANCAKE ANYONE???!?!?!?! 😂😂😂😂
2:41 Never saw that before.
xehanort won't say dead while his voice actors keep dying
Nimoy was the best version i just wish the games didnt come out so far apart so that way he could finished dubbing before passing on. :(
The reason Rutger sounds so different from Nimoy and Lloyd is he doesn`t smoke, doesn`t play up the rasp as much but it`s still there if you listen closely and is clearly trying to suppress his thick Dutch accent to an extent to sound more like his predecessor and successor.
Doc Brown really went down a dark path after BTTF 3
I loved all 3 versions and would order them:
1. Nimoy
2. Lloyd
3. Hauer
Nimoy's low, gravelly and menacing voice for Xehanort was so difficult to replace that I think Hauer attempted to go more subtely menacing rather than try a direct impersonation.
Its just not the same without leonard nimoy. RIP Leonard
I like how Llyod grunting as Xehanort is powering into Armor Xehanort than how Hauer does it.
Also Christopher Lloyd bent on destroying a group of characters that includes Mickey, Donald, and Goofy...Well gee. Where have we seen that before?
Roger Rabbit reference. Nice
My god I love this guy! I can’t understand his motives, but he’s still so cool!
Any reason I can't throw Anastasia into the mix? ;)
Dues vendanya. That's two vendanyas
I ADORE Rutger Hauer, but given his vocal range, this did feel phoned in. I've heard him in audio dramas where he's sounded more like Xehanort than he did here... Lloyd lacks some of Nomy's gravitas, but he still does a stellar job with the role.
I can't help but imagine The Hacker during Lloyd's performance
Tbf Nimoy was the best for old Master Xehanort. He really brought in that villainous flair to him. Hauer, not as much, even though you can tell he was trying his best. Lloyd also did a very good job, but was missing the gravelness of Nimoy.
Rutger Hauer was a truly fantastic actor but it was a bit weird to have a Dutch actor replace an American one, probably should have gone with Lloyd from the beginning.
Great Scott !!! Xehanort is Doc Brown !!😱😱😱😱
Christopher Lloyd play Master Xehnaort in KH3 Remind.
Great Scott!
aw Leonard, we miss you
Is Christopher Lloyd that person who also played as judge doom from Roger rabbit
Would love to see Christopher Lloyd do the live adaptation of KH before he passes
0:21 Behind xehanort there's fenrir the keyblade of kh2 after beating sephiroth
I think Rutger did an acceptable job, but Lloyd knocked it out of the park.
I love Leanord Nimoy but I enjoyed Christopher Lloyds voice alot too.
RIP Rutger Hauer
Leonard Nimoy definitely takes it when voicing this character!.
I didn't know that they brought in Chris Lloyd for Master Xehanort. And since this game deals with time travel all I can see now is Doc Brown with a Key Blade in his Delorean. Screw Mr. Fusion he can cast Thunder!
If Christopher lloyd dies, i don't know if they're gonna find another voice actor for xehanort
At that point this role is freaking cursed
Not worried about Bem Diskin?
@@cunningsmile4166 I think they're just on about Master Xehanort and not his younger self or any other versions
The Xehanort saga is over.
0:26 UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS CONFIRMED!!!!!!
Leonard Nimoy voice is evil and menacing. Christopher Lloyd's adds wisdom and a feeling of foreboding to the voice. I can't decide.
