- Difficulty: Impossible - HermitCraft Vault Hunters - E03 - I've been busy at work playing Vault Hunters, but sadly most of what I've been doing is only recording vaults and just doing some basic things that aren't worth showing on camera. I have so much backlogged footage though that might go into future episodes! Today we're going to take a look at our base currently and how we've been dealing with inventory issues!

You can capture a slime in a bucket, and it will guide you to a slime chunk. That is one of the easiest ways to get slime in VH.
The scavenger items are only goos for being turned into soul dust once you leave the vault so you can just dump them all in there.
When scav item out of the vault it becomes (rotten) and can't be use in next vault so just throw them in vault recycler. ❤

Last I played, similar scav items from differing vaults don't stack, either (e.g. black goo from vault 1 won't stack with black goo from vault 2), so you have to remember to empty out the pouch after every scav run.

Thanks for cutting together a video! I'm glad this vault hunter experiment is working out. Was kind of worried that it wouldn't take off. It's becoming the dry season for content on UA-cam and I know it's going to be a little tough soon
Scav items are useless outside of the vault you find them in. You can’t bring them into a new vault. Their only use, once brought out of the vault they were found in, is to be recycled into soul dust.
If you’re doing a lot of vaults with multiple people, I’d strongly recommend taking rejuvenation totem and getting it upgraded a few times. It’s a great way to heal everyone in the room, which means you can play a bit more quickly and just tank some damage without much worry.
Get armor and health rolls on your gear. Find gear that has max implicit armor rolls, and then keep wild focusing it until you get a decent armor AND health roll. Only wear gear that is rare+ if possible. You can ignore all of that if you have a good legendary roll on a gear piece.
Also, in case you haven’t played with them yet, faceted focus can be obtained from recycling gear, and act like a wild focus, but guarantee a roll of whatever they say, so don’t use them on a gear piece that has a legendary roll, it will reroll the legendary roll to a regular roll. (You also can’t reroll and get a legendary roll. They only come from the initial roll.)
Personally, I’d suggest getting at least one black market and maxing out bounty hunter expertises for your next few. Outside of those, good choices would be infuser, mystic, and maybe divine. Unbreakable isn’t really useful since most of the time, you’ve found another, equally good or better piece by the time one is out of repairs, especially before max vault level.

Also forgot that catalyst fragments come from wooden chests, but are not shown in the loot table for some reason, so make sure you add those to your wooden chest pouch!
Regarding Scav Items: Once you leave the vault they get NBT tagged so they cannot be used in the next vault. If you look at the info on the old scav items I believe it says "rotten." Many first time Vault Hunters accidentally try to submit old scav items and end up dying to the vault timer. Good luck!
make sure to check the tier of the gear modifier, there your recycled a rare helmet where you hit a new armor tier, it had 10 armor and yours is only 7. That means that some of your new scrappy or common gear could be better than your old rare or epic.

Just so you know in your Impossible Challenge room, I believe that was the last spawner, doing that spawner would have given a "champion" of the room. Upon defeating that champion you would be rewarded the ability to put a new modifier on your potion, which would provide extra utilities apart from just healing. I think this is the case, and seeing as how it was an impossible room the reward would have been great. Please correct me if I'm wrong
i know its late, but its not just a potion modifier. its a chance to get either a potion modifier, or a gear crafting modifier.
Thank you for going through and explaining the pouch thing. I'd been curious how that works. Seems like a number of the newer-to-VH hermits could use information like that for their own inventory management, haha.
You can have a bag pick up unidentified gear, you just need to set the filter and tell it to ignore NBT data, be careful having swords in their, if you throw your weapon by mistake it will pick it up.
I’m really glad about this series. I’ve liked Iskall, Stress and Captain Sparklez’s Vault Hunters for a while. But most of the stuff they did beforehand was one streams I didn’t have the time to watch. It’s nice getting condensed down videos of Vault Hunters like this. So thank you!

You can mix colors on your pouches too! There are tons of color combinations, it's crazy how much detail there is in that. Thanks for playing, looks like you're really enjoying yourself in this modpack!
really exciting to see hypno taking to vault hunters!! its my favourite modpack of all time and i LOVE getting to watch the hermits play! definietly going to be checking out the vods!
Unlock the create mod, and you can make slime entirely through farming. Sea cucumbers you crush them down, and crush down your wheat I believe. Combine them in your inventory to slime.
I really love that you share your thought process when playing games. It makes understanding and enjoying what’s going on in complicated games (like this and Decked Out) much easier!
the vault hunters footage is great. great pack.
The pouches work like leather armor by the way, you can apply a second dye in the same spot and it mixes the colors, you can also wash them with a cauldron of water.
Great episode, Hypno! You and xB have got your base nicely set up and organized but yeah, a searchable database like Refined Storage will be needed soon.
gg to False for helping you with the pouches! It's great to see how you're prepared and your inventory is easy to de-loot once you're out of the vault. I was a little disappointed that the Impossible Dungeon wasn't finished but it's still early and you'll have plenty more of those to plunder!
i stronly recommend going dubble pouches pretty fast for extra storage and run 2 stack upgrades. it will make it so u dont need all those pouches and things will stack nicely. ofc in the early game storage system is important to upgrade so knowladge is important

Aawe!!! Yall should have finished that last Spawner in the Impossible Dungeon, that would have had a Champion mob which drop really good loot! And there might have been a Modification Altar or Potions Altar for discovering new Crafted Affixes for gear or a Potion Modifier to be added to your potions.
If you put your items into your next pouches you can go into the brain area and the items will be visible in the pouch, you can then click on them and it will save them. Saves searching for all your items
For the scav items. You cant use them in another Vault. If you bring them in, the items wont stack. So just turn them into soul dust once you get out. They dont have any other use.
This basically became a 1 episode crash course on a bunch of things and I really appreciate that. Sometimes it can take a while to go through VH and learn all the little ins and outs, so I appreciate the talking/explaining! Thanks!

Pouch Tip:
To open the pouch without putting it on your hotbar,
While you have your inventory open, hover/select the pouch you want to open and press B
Pouches are such a timesaver in this mod pack! ❤
That’s the hot key for the one on your back if equipped.

Try it while your inventory is open and you have your mouse on one of the pouches

I highly recommend refined storage over applied energistics. So much easier to manage the storage disks.
It’s also easier to craft all the parts. You don’t have to search multiple meteorites in hopes of finding all the inscribers.
Since i havent heard you talk about copiously yet i wanted to mention that copiously is a sort of fortune for vault ores which works with and without silktouch it gives a percentage chance to double the ores. meaning you will get doubled silk touch ores or double the mined ore if you dont use silktouch. it only works when you first mine it in the vault though. it wont work on the ores you took out with silktouch already!
If you're going the fortune route then skip the silk touch, unless you need the block you might as well save the space. Greed is good!

All scavenger items Cannot be used for another scav vault. They're best used to be thrown into a Shard diffusure to get more soul shards
You also might wanna throw a compacting drawer under your soul diffuser
It’s a waste of a knowledge star. It can’t be integrated w/ AE2 or RS. Doesn’t allow crafting w/in the GUI. Doesn’t have auto crafting. And if you take it makes all the other storage mods more costly.

It doesn’t have auto crafting, or even crafting w/in the GUI. It increase the cost of the other storage mods if you choose it. And it can’t be integrated w/ RS or AE2.

everybody struggles with figuring out how to present vault runs. some post complete VODs, some post supercuts, it's a tough nut to figure out

It's a good idea to have a pouch saved in another pouch. In case you accidentally throw one out,( With a fall inventory) then you don't lose your pouch and everything in it
There are two memory save slots.
You can't exactly put a pouch inside another pouch though.
