- I flew to the Yucatan peninsula with nothing but a backpack, sleeping in a hammock in the jungle in search for cool ants. Will I succeed? This video is only a taste of everything I found on my 9 day trip, so stay tuned! It only gets better from here!
You may notice the audio quality on this video being a little better - I finally started using a real microphone!
I'm from Mexico and I'm just going to Yucatan in a few weeks because it's an incredible place to look for ants!
Hopefully you have a good time! It was really dry when I went, but I was still able to see amazing things.
Wow i like your video!!! It’s cool!
Boopis is such a silly spider name I love it
Love the video. I hope you show how you lived/slept while there!
Mexico is the best, and the ants are amazing. I went there last summer and planning to go again and catch some ants. Great video (thebean)
YO!!! We use the same deodorant man!! Rare ant keeping win!!!
Had to make sure I wasn't too horribly stinky after 12 days of not showering lol
Killer Video!
Awesome ! I like it ! thanks for posting👍60
Hopefully if you guys ever go to South America you can check out camponotus mirabilis. Absolutely awesome ants.
They're a weird one for sure. South America is definitely high of my list of places to travel to next, but I'm not sure when exactly I'll be able to make that happen.
@@ArthropodAntics indeed. I don’t know if only the queens have that long face but the majors as well. Also some really cool camponotus in Africa. They’re like fur bears over there.
Cool! Awesome videoooo
Hopefully, you did your research about criminal activity in that region. Remember the botanist killed a few months ago doing research in Sonora? "Gabriel Trujillo, a 31-year-old American botanist and UC Berkeley graduate student, was shot and killed while collecting plants in the Mexican state of Sonora in June 2023." Good luck!
Well thankfully I am already home safe, but also yes, I was in the state of Yucatàn, which is on the entire opposite side of the country and quite safe. I'd love to visit Sonora one day (especially considering it's right next to Arizona) but it's not known for being particularly safe at this point in time.
you: "so glad to see this ant"
ants: AHHHHHHH
