I like the wide range of the gear box, it gives you a lot of room to tweak the motor to propeller matching. Another cool feature is the amount of strain relief by means of the flexible coupling and also the thrust bearing rating (300 lbs) nice setup!
I found a few forklifts at a junkyard....yup, I used their motors. I got that going.

How much power does the AC converter use versus a normal 48 volt DC motor?
lithium batteries. Calb CA series seems a particular obvious choice. but you can't use a lead acid charger on them. you have to treat them right
I was thinking of replacing the yanmars in a Lagoon power cat. I don't need lots of speed just cruise along at around 5mph or so is fine.
I am working on a 46 foot steel hulled cutter that is 18 tons. It uses a GM 2-53. Can you directly replace that GM diesel with your electric and get the same torque and HP? I have tons of room for batteries, and I will have a huge PV array and aux genset, besides 2 1500 watt wind turbines.
heaven forbid you should actually tell anybody WHAT you used. Poor sods are trying to make choices and desperate for data! What motor did you use? Where did you find your gear reduction? What batteries did you choose?

what is the length and displacement of your cataramaran? When are you planning your conversion? How do you plan to charge the batteries - solar, shorepower, generator?
So the motor is a modified alternator?
Why not use a DC motor instead of having to use an inverter controller to provide 3 phase for the motors.
Its much stronger than a dc motor
Is there a place to mount a machine gun?

I wish I was better at understanding the physics involved in building a system. Electric power would extend the boating life of many people. How much mechanical and electrical know how is required to keep a system running safely and reliably?

You said nothing about the output of the motor in knots, very important. Also heaven forbid you should ever get water in the bilge, because the motor is not sealed and would definitely short out if any water got into it.
