- Here's a great arrangement by John Fahey of the traditional blues 'Poor Boy A Long Ways From Home'. It bounces along with some great bends and hammer ons whilst the bass line thuds away. I like to think of those bends as imitating the sound of a train whistle.
If you've not heard John Fahey's version then check it out here:

I joined your channel recently and was checking out the videos and there was this. I've been wanting to learn this song forever. My x-wife used to say 'great minds think a like". Another bit of wisdom she was right about, that women drove me crazy.
Glad I could help! Have fun plucking!
I'm on my 100th watch at least - and I am progressing thanks - I will nail this - thank you
Keep going! Patience is a virtue! Remember to enjoy the little successes you get whilst learning an instrument too!

Sounds great, very good teaching, neither too fast nor too slow. Appreciate the vids, keep ‘em coming please!
Thanks Steve! Glad you’re enjoying the vids!
Can u do a video on articulation pls, staccato in particular. I can play the notes to many songs but they don't sound nearly as cool without the articulation and I'm not quite sure how to make the notes shorter, especially with open strings. Thanks
Thanks! That’s a really good suggestion. I’ll definitely put something together on articulation and feel!
Hello. Just subscribed. Love your vids. However, I am not able to get the tabs from the link and it appears your patreon page is broken Is there a way you can send me the tabs? I especially want the Diddy Wah Diddy tabs. Thanks. Hope you post more and your life is great.
It should be on my website? Any joy?
This is Vestapol written 60-70 years ago by Elizabeth Cotten so Fahey stole it and gave it a new name!
Ah that’s good to know
