  • Hey guys, thanks for tuning in. In this episode we're installing a new Pioneer head unit in a 2008 Z06. This thing is a beast, but its factory radio is very lacking! Thanks for watching!
    Here are the links for everything we used:
    Headunit - amzn.to/2SVDJnz
    Harness - amzn.to/2SUNS3V
    Bezel - amzn.to/2Dstbb3

    Thanks for the video, y'all gave me the idea of running the camera wires under the carpet and through the tunnel. Beats others running outside the car or along the panels. FYI, you can run the red and ground wire of the camera and connect them along with the PAC harness. Connect the red (hot wire of the camera) to the accessory on the PAC harness and black ground to the ground in on the PAC. This way you won't have to connect the short wire near the yellow camera RCA. It'll allow you to use the camera when stationary and still comes on whenever you go into reverse.

      Also won't have to mess with the wires bear the tail lights.

      This method also lets you use the camera while going forward. On an Alpine ilx w650

    Is he able to use the rearview camera feature while driving forward? The pioneer system I have (AVIC-X930BT) shows that being a feature. It's typically used for monitoring a trailer whilst towing but none the less I was curious.

    How exactly do you pass the wire through under the hatch carpet? Does it just pull right up?

    does this affect the heads up display? i keep reading articles on the internet that it affects HUD, does the HUD still work normally? Thanks

      The only thing this effects is the built in navigation that would display on the HUD. That won't work anymore with an aftermarket unit. All other functionality will work fine.

      Yes but you need the PAC harness that includes those. That is the blue box he was showing in the video.

    Can you use the stock mic?

      You might be able to by finding the right wire but honestly it might not be worth the hassle.

    How does this work with the factory subs? I’m thinking of installing the very same headunit in my 05.

    would the camera and the unit also work on a 03 c5 vett?

    • @spraynpray
      @spraynpray 2 роки тому

      So they don't really mention the head unit install, but I started doing my own and figured out how it works. You get your head unit out, pretty much any 2 DIMM head unit will work in your c5. You need the unit and a wiring harness that is vehicle specific that you solder or crimp same-color wires together. I got two harnesses and neither worked in my car, but I got one from crutchfield on the way. Car stereo stuff is made by and installed by idiots, so who knows. It's likely I'll have to stare at wiring diagrams for a while and make my own harness.

      @@talhajaved5886 Hey Talha, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I believe it was a purple wire that we spliced into. How did the install go?

    I want to do this install on my 2010. How much would this cost??

    • @danh1060
      @danh1060 4 роки тому +1

      You could prob install yourself since there's a shitton of tutorials out there + vetteforums. Only cost would be that of the unit.
