Just wanted to thank you for your lovely recipes!! I made your chocolate cupcakes and they turned out DELICIOUS so I'm super excited to try this chocolate cake. I love that you don't use exorbitant amounts of sugar and butter in your recipes yet they still turn out super decadent and tasty! Thanks once again!
Just tried this last night and it was the most heavenly deliciousness ever! I don’t usually bake cakes but my husband wanted to eat chocolate cake and this seemed like an easy enough recipe to make. Beginners should definitely try this. It was so quick, simple and fuss-free! I used my stand mixer and added whole milk instead of buttermilk and it came out perfect, if that helps anyone :)
@@TheMhean12 Yes, it's correct. I halved the recipe and used raw cacao powder and milk instead of processed cocoa and buttermilk and it turned out great.

It's my first time to bake using this recipe and my husband loved it. Though I did not cut off the sugar to 1 1/2 instead of two cups coz I thought it would be too sweet. But it was still very sweet. Next time I will use 1 cup only. Thank you

During this virus lockdown this has been my favourite thing I’ve made. After several dry cakes I’m so pleased that 4 days after baking it I’ve just had another slice and it’s still moist and delicious!!! Thank you
@@yanlz42 you can get buttermilk at stores..it is basically fermented milk (Chanch in Hindi) You can replace it with 1 cup of lukewarm milk + 1 TSP lemon juice (or white vinegar).
For the first time i made this today as a birthday cake and it was easy to follow, the result was great! Instead of buttermilk i used evaporated milk and added 1 tsp. of vinegar. I'm also short on 1 egg so i wasn't sure what will happen but thankfully it was great! It was moist and has the right softness for a moist cake, there's no break, and the taste is good to me not too sweet or strong. Then I covered it with a simple ganache recipe i found somewhere online and it totally looks perfect for me. Definitely will bake this again, still new to the bake-ing world so i will try more types of cake. ( The texture of this is almost 2 step away from a Brownies ) I'll rate it 9.5/10 thank you Yummy Treats!
I also put it back in the oven twice in 100°c for 3min. because when i flipped it thinking it was done the mixture leaked out somewhere like lava haha ( i did the toothpick test in one place only maybe that's why, so be sure to test all corners of the cake every 10 mins. )
Tried this recipe to the dot on father's Day (had to make buttermilk with milk and vinegar as mentioned and I didn't have baking soda so I used twice the amount of baking powder and reduced the quantity of salt in the recipe) and it turned out soo sooo good!!! I could have eaten the whole huge cake on my own but everyone loved it soo much. It's fast, easy and absolutely delicious ❤️ ( I topped it with an easy chocolate ganache made with dark baking chocolate and cream at 2:1 ratio)
I tried the recipe. It turned out so good. I took the exact same measurements.. and I did not use water. Everyone liked it so much.the taste, the texture everything was up to mark and the fact it was soft and spongy. Thanks for this recipe.. recommended ❤
This is a great recipe! I was worried about the amount of sugar but it doesn't taste extremely sweet. Moist and 'spongey' and delicious. Kids and hubby love it. Thank you!
Just made the recipe as-is and it is, indeed, very moist and spongy with a dense crumb structure, almost like a cake with pudding mixed into the batter. It’s not exactly what I was looking for, but for those who like a moist, spongy cake, this is a very good recipe. I might suggest adding more than 1/4 cup cocoa powder though, to get a more chocolatey flavor.
I'm a big zero in baking, and confused also after surfing different channels, do this, do that, this first , it's in batches and lots of instructions. Keeping my fingers crossed, tried this one. Do we have to use buttermilk. I only have regular milk, will there be any big difference. Is there any type of way I can make buttermilk at home
Emilly De Souza if you have white vinegar or 1/2 lemon just put some in a cup of milk and let it sit for 10 min then you’ll get buttermilk
Flavia M’peti thank you so much 😊
Want to know more secret? : You can use Mayonnaise as a fat content in batter it gives more moist ☺️

Perfect and yummy cake. What is the size of the mould you used, is this recipe ok for 9 by 2 inches cake pan?
Yes, it is.. fill only 3/4th the pan.. and bake the rest in another.
mine is 12 inch
I seemed to see you in another video ( comment section) pls subscribe to my channel too!
Mine is 6 inch...so how much quantity should I use?
@@jojivarghese689 half of the ingredients she used.
Thank you for sharing it inspired me to bake it after I watched the video. It was good I had to improvise with the buttermilk and used 3/4c of sour cream and 1/4 c milk to substitute and didn't use as much sugar I put half a cup less but made up for it by making an icing on the side of cake not on it.
