Just some context, the previous round the track was slightly wet here. It started to rain harder while they were driving, but it wasn't too bad. The other side of the track was still dry though, and that's where they were coming from. They went from dry into heavy downpour. It was like they hit a wall of water. They just started aquaplaning and their visibility was instantly gone. It is dangerous to brake way too soon if there isn't a full course yellow, so there was literally nothing they could do. The full course yellow was called very quickly, but it was sadly too late. In fact, full course yellow was called while the cars were aquaplaning. Within 2 minutes it went from dry to undriveable. There was no rain in the forecast and it hit everyone unexpectedly. They're lucky this isn't F1 since they go faster and are even worse on sudden lakes. If they didn't have all season tires there probably would've been serious injuries or people could've died right there and then.
