I appreciate the honesty in regards to your irregular chronology and how it helps to enhance your mental health in using a journal; I am a perfectionist, and and lifelong journalist, and this really helps.

Absolutely! It still is like that a lot for me, and I never shy away from switching up how I’m doing things if I feel stuck. Thanks for sharing ❤️

This is a really great idea! I can see how this can be so freeing! I feel like we should all have a journal like this, with zero pressure. I am definitely going to give this a try. Thanks so much for sharing yourself, Rikki! 💚

I have a Moleskine expanded as well for this same purpose… just a brain space for me…all the things …no pressure just be…❤ also random placement with the date is a super idea…I get completely overwhelmed by “catching up”

I love it! Yes, it does get overwhelming. I found myself struggling with journaling growing up because it was this all or nothing attitude. I felt bad if I missed days, it felt pointless, a lot of negative self talk that defeat the purpose. Randomizing entries helps to take that factor away. If my kids ever decide to flip through it years later they’ll be like what was mom doing 😂😂😂
I definitely have my journal where I do spreads and it’s all aesthetic and everything but day to day this has been so helpful!

I use my TN for similar journaling. It’s kind of like a common place book but also a cute trash book lol. I really love how you prepped ahead and doodled. Thanks for sharing!

This was a heaven-sent video for me. I am loving Moleskine expanded, I have a few both softcovers and hardcovers, but I did not dare start using the hardcovers because I feared the covers would break from the huge bulk that I intended to fit in them. Now from yours i can see it won't break, so good news! Also, I love that you just open the book wherever and jpournal there, and you don't go page by page.

Thank you! I will say I haven’t used their hardcovers for this type of journaling before; so I can’t attest to how the hardcovers would do but the soft covers are perfection 💫⚡️

Thank you for showing that your journaling hasn't been in order. I struggle with things needing to be in order and perfectionism with journaling. I have stopped journaling because of this and I have missed it but it stresses me out of i don't do it in order & now I'm going to journal like this. Thank you for showing your process and how you have done it in random order. I'm thinking of looking for a moleskine expanded. I recently bought a moleskine daily planner and I love it. Before that I had a nanami b6 slim for a planner and wallet, but I've been struggling with the creative aspect of the b6 because it's dotted paper. This expanded journal has inspired me to journal regardless of what it looks like. Thank you sooooo much for this. 💕

It’s been wonderful so far, and there are weeks that I turn to it more than others. I think it depends on the amount of ease we need for ourselves in a given time

new Subscriber ♥ I love your journal and your style … looking forward to seeing more of your creativity!! I just posted a video showing a flip through of a journal. I am still developing my style, figuring out what I like. I have started other journals where I am doing freehand sketches. Thank you for your great ideas … very inspiring. Take care 😊 Like number 181 👍

I've been feeling pulled to go back to a journal like this (alongside my other journals) that's a bit freer and I don't have rules for. That I can journal as many pages as I want. It can be decorated or not. It can be just decoration if I want. For notes, musings, research, quotes, pictures, random stickers, swatching, brain dumps and everything in between. I like it. Thank you for sharing!

Yes!!! I think there is a place for me to do journal spreads and art journaling and what not, but sometimes working in a place where there’s no pressure and no expectation just feels good! Thank you 😊

Thank you!! That’s totally the idea too! I had all this random stuff and things to remember and write down. Housing then in one place just makes sense!

This is absolutely lovely!! I'm in a current state of reflection caused by fomo and all the journal and planner comparison I put upon myself. I love the moleskines and I love how free form this all is. I have a couple moleskines and one is an expanded. Maybe I let my rules go and enjoy it like you are enjoying yours. Thank you for sharing.

It’s been great. I still have an insert in my travelers notebook to make a spread when I feel called, but this process has brought me into a more intimate relationship with my journal. Thanks for watching!

Hello, love this journal. I have a journal right now that I write randomly throughout the book. It's nice to not have rules on ourselves. But, I do have a lot of journals that are aesthetic too. It's just fun to journal every day. TFS. Keep on having fun with this journal!!! 👍 Sylvia

Thanks! I definitely have my aesthetic journals as well! It’s great when we can hold space for both I think…our need for no rules and our need (or want) to make pretty things ❤️
