I think in terms of sheer effort in worldbuilding and hilarity, this one beats the 1965 and the 1997. Like, I want a movie about every one of the “girls”, particularly the one who wishes she hadn’t married “Sam”, and the one who is a scandalous loose woman with bad morals who shows her legs and drinks! It’s also funny to look at the little kids, and think they’re in their 70s now. The little girl is hilarious, she’s giving 110% but is definitely not used to being on camera lol. And finally, the blonde who says “why shouldn’t he propose to me”, is absolutely gorgeous and a stone-cold fox and I agree, he should propose to her. I want to propose to her!
I love this song JUST LIKE THEY WROTE IT. This version - and the version in the 1965 Leslie Ann Warren version are wonderful. In the past two versions (Brandy on TV and then the Broadway version) they doctored and doctored it up until it was almost unrecognizable. Complicating things does not make it better.
Star Sky I didn’t see anything wrong with the Brandy version at all. I’ve seen all of the versions and I love them all in there respectful places. In fact, since you mentioned the Brandy version in all caps for emphasis, I will say that I am glad that the Brandy version had a multicultural flair to it. Our world is a very colorful one and so should be the theater 🎭! At least that’s I’ve viewed and loved the theater for most of my life.
@@MotivationNAffirmations4YRLife thank you. The Brandy version was perfectly fine. In fact, it's the one I listen to more frequently than the others. This version is still impressive however. It's got clever humorous set-ups and broad characterizations that are just perfect!
Love this show and the incredible, Julie Andrews!
One of my favorite songs!

It is great - what did you think watching it in stereo for the first time ever?
