It's amazing to see how much brake travel you have in the real car. It seems that many sim racers tend to think that the brake needs to be super stiff and barely move!
The real race car is stiff as well. The reason why you see the compressions are due to the force and inertia in real life aka g-force that helps with the foot pressure to the brake...I think
My G920 brake makes me want to hurl. Can't modulate the pedal like in real life. I don't want it soft like stepping on an orange but I also don't want it like stepping on a brick!

Great video! I would love to see a video going into more detail on what kind of training sessions you do with the sim (e.g. hotlaps, taking off lines, racing AI or other people)?
Nice comparison, but i would have used a sim with a good physics and more complex tyre model than iracing. rFactor 2 IE would be way better for a real vs sim comparison
How do you know what is a realistic sim? Have you driven a race car before? I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but your claim needs to have first hand substance. Just hearing that one sim is better than another is why this world is so messed up lol.
As we know, there’s a big debate between ACC or iRacing being the best sim. We know your opinion on the matter. I’m curious though, you say the Merc is excellent in iRacing but the Porsche is trash. So, would a Porsche GT driver disagree with you on preferred sim choice? Is there a chance you only prefer iRacing because they happened to nail it on your preferred car?
Thanks for this comparison! We need more of this Real versus Sim to understand where Sim can improve. You simulate with a moving platform. How do you feel when you lose grip on the rear axle ? I use a seat traction loss with my moving SFX platform and am thrilled to be able to feel the loose tail so early. Only when the angle of rotation of the entire vehicle becomes too large due to oversteer do I feel it in my DD-Whell system.
I've been on the fence about buying the Merc GT4. First I bought the McLaren and it just understeers so bad everywhere. It pushed me away from GT4 and I haven't been back yet.
I'm not professional driver... but I'm not surprised by your conclusions. Iracing remains the king in term of braking/turn in phase/front end load feeling. If one day they could finally improve the "battle" with the car at the limits, they would be untouchable. I may add collisions physics to the wish list. Too many times the small hits are killing the race for no reason.
wow, that was very interesting. did you ever use rfactor2 ? there are so many teams, that are using it because of the tire simulation. by sitting in a porsche at the vln or nls in a real racing car the rfactor2 simulation was really so close to the real live, that was awesome... of course there is no g-force in your racing seat, but what you feel in movement of the car is still the best for me. feel free to say that iracing is better, if you tried both. best greetings from germany. ps next saturday, i am at the nürburgring again. the nls is my favourite event, because it is only 60km far from here, just like spa francochamps. beest regards from trier!!!!

Kiss the Bricks! Congratulations on the win and thanks for sharing this content. It is very interesting to see how close the sim really is. Any chance you can share your force feedback settings would be great to get us sim racers to be able to feel the reality of a GT4 (or GT3) racecar! Thanks again!
I actually made a video about this :) thanks a lot. You can check out all the videos on my channel if you need more help :)
Nice win, good to see a positive view for sim training - Kissing bricks..
Great video! I would love to see a video going into more detail on what kind of training sessions you do with the sim (e.g. hotlaps, taking off lines, racing AI or other people)?
Thanks for the idea!
Kiss the brakes, punch the gas!😂 Oh bricks you said. 😅
Now this gonna be an interesting vid
Nice comparison, but i would have used a sim with a good physics and more complex tyre model than iracing. rFactor 2 IE would be way better for a real vs sim comparison
How do you know what is a realistic sim? Have you driven a race car before? I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but your claim needs to have first hand substance. Just hearing that one sim is better than another is why this world is so messed up lol.
@@danielmorad you're right about this, I never tried a real race car. But have you compared Rf2 and iracing?
Kiss those gorgeous bricks! Congrats on the win!!!
Thanks so much
Kiss the bricks! Congrats on Indy and great content on all videos
I've been running the GT3 AMG in iRacing, hands down my current favorite car on the platform. Kiss the bricks.
Thanks a lot man. Yeah lots of fun!!
Great content and congratulations on your win.
Much love and appreciation for uploading this video. Now go “Kiss the Bricks”…..
Great video. I’d bet this topic is on every sim racers mind.
Oh, and Kiss the Bricks!
Kiss the Bricks. Another great comparison video .
Love seeing the comparison videos
Interesting info. Thanks.
Can you mate similar compare in rFactor2.
Thanks so much
Daniel promised to do that this fall, let´s wait and see
@@stefanwehinger1235ok, thank you for info.
Keep waiting for it. 💪
So next time we need the real word pedal telemtry so we can compare with the one in iRacing to see if you braking the same.
wow, that was very interesting. did you ever use rfactor2 ? there are so many teams, that are using it because of the tire simulation. by sitting in a porsche at the vln or nls in a real racing car the rfactor2 simulation was really so close to the real live, that was awesome... of course there is no g-force in your racing seat, but what you feel in movement of the car is still the best for me. feel free to say that iracing is better, if you tried both. best greetings from germany. ps next saturday, i am at the nürburgring again. the nls is my favourite event, because it is only 60km far from here, just like spa francochamps. beest regards from trier!!!!
Kiss the bricks! Great vid and congrats on the win! Coming from an Indy native!
Thanks for the video, great info.
It took me 3/4 of the lap to notice you were alternating the audio between the two!
Love these comparisons! More please 🎉
Kiss the Bricks!!! Great job gentlemen!!
Nice video Dan!! KTB ;)
Thanks! Love the acronym
Kiss the bricks! Congratulations on the win man!
