This is legit one of the great online communities right now. I don't even play the guitar.... Just love an expert 'experting', Michael is amazing and of course I love music.
Love grace... remember seeing her back in college in upstate ny and have been a fan since ... her shows at the 8x10 in Baltimore ten or so years ago were the true magic moments when she commanded a room like no one I have seen... glad to see her return to a bit of her roots on this album. Her touch on organ is unique and entrancing...miss the nocturnals
Michael, thanks much for this one, LOVE Grace! First time I saw her in ‘07 she opened for Gov’t Mule at an OLD theatre, The Vogue in Indy, I didn’t know who she was, but she absolutely blew me away! That VOICE, and of course the music and her band at the time, The Nocturnals, were so tight, been a huge fan ever since and have seen her six times. So happy you love her as well, no one puts on a show like she does, she leaves everything out there, foot on the gas the whole time...again, thanks for breaking this one down, cheers!
Grace is an absolute God send for music lovers!!... I've been able to see her 4 times, the 1st time she absolutely blew my mind and I be damned if she just gets ever time I see her!!!! She should be a superstar!!! But kinda glad she not bc the true fans get to keep her!! In alot of small intimate venues!🙂😁
Dude I love the community you’re building on this channel. Really inspiring to see! Been following your videos for a while, great to see you hitting it big time with these react videos
My wife and I love Grace and make an annual pilgrimage to her Grand Point North festival in Burlington VT each fall. She played this one for the first time at the 2017 festival and it was mesmerizing. A wonderful talent. As an intermediate guitar player, I love what you are doing. I always come away with something new from your vids. Many thanks.
This is one song that's like a newborn baby and a wise old woman. It fills you with joy, brings a lump to your throat and a tear to your eye, and at the same time speaks to your soul with words and emotions as old as the hills.
Marcus King singing “goodbye Carolina” at the grand ole opry is another one of those songs that will give you goosebumps as soon as he starts singing. Would be a great song to react to!!
So glad you picked this up, I only became aware of her via an old clip of her on Daryl’s House, Things I Never Needed - it’s a stunning performance, hope you check out that one too.
What I actually love most about your videos is the authenticity of your passion, the way you understand music in its emotional complexity and the fact that you simply, in my eyes, have a good taste of music...
Just getting around to this video - thank you! This was right up my alley and I don't think I've heard grace potter before! The progression/passion reminds me of a great gospel hymn
I found you through Colter Wall and Shakey Graves videos and was impressed that the community around here have the same "playlist" of recommendations as I do hahaha to spread a little bit the range of singer-songwriters, I would like to recommend City and Colour's What Makes a Man, or Save Your Scissors. Anything done by Dallas Green is completely beautiful and satisfying to hear, and his musics took me from playing piano to learn acoustic guitar as well! Love your channel and the harmonic analysis, cheers from Brazil!
Great video. That why I'm here man, i love this community that turns me on to all these excellent artists. Really good music is surprisingly hard to find nowadays...
Thanks for sharing this, great teaching. And Wow, Grace Potter.. This is the first time I've heard her. The soft side of her voice did not impress me...until she showed me the harsh, gravelly side. Excellent vocalist.
Love me some Grace! From rompin' stompin' barefoot smokers to those beautiful, tender ballads. She's the real deal! Saw her here in Birmingham this past winter, in a music club that holds about 1,000 folks at the most, and she blew the doors off!
Y'all should see her cover of "Cortez the Killer" with Vai. The sax player is off the charts too. You ever hear a sax and guitar together? This was my first experience with it. Great video again Michael!
A wise man once told me, "You can't feed another person if your cup is empty." It's not selfish to take care of yourself so you can keep on going and taking care of all the others that need your help. Been a fan of Grace since the days of the Nocturnals and 'Paris'. I'm loving the new sound, too. Thanks for sharing this.
Dude knew this was coming! Phenomenal past monday performance. Seriously glad you decided to share this with 100k+ There's not alot of female artists that get to me, she does! Respect to all Mikey's subs that tuned in on Tuesday, had a blast Thanks again brother. 👍 Shout out to Chaz with that shiny new PRS.
Awesome Mikey... love it! Grace is a natural beauty with the voice of an angel. I had no idea that she was doing live streams...definitely going to check those out! “The 9 is the 5th of the V chord”... got it, sensei. I think the fact that you get all “nerdy” with the theory behind the music is what appeals to a lot of us so never change, brother! 🎸🔥
Great to see some people discovering Grace through this! I've been a fan of hers for a long time, and highly recommend her latest album Daylight, I think it's the best work she's ever done, which is saying a lot! If you ever get to see her in person - do it! And check out her channel, she's got most of her Monday night live shows on there.
Grace was a VH1 diva along with Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. She blew them off the stage. Her performance with the Nocturnals of "Paris" and her strutting the stage in a silver mini dress with her flying V electrified the crowd [a military base near San Diego]. Her segment also included her covering "Crazy on You" with Ann and Nancy Wilson guesting. Grace was on her B3 Hammond organ. Incredible. It's locked in a vault somewhere. It was long-ago scrubbed from UA-cam.
Fun show the other night Michael! Gotta say I wasn't expecting that. But , with that said. Oh shit , Grace is in the house! I love her to freakin' death man. Thank you Brother, PEACE from Southwest Michigan 🐉💀👽🎸🎶🎵🌎🌌🧠
Love your stuff and how you can pick up any song. It's amazing to me since I have no music theory knowledge and just have fun playing intermediate guitar...lol. About Grace Potter...what's not to love?!? I've loved her stuff for years also, but one performance that sticks out to me, and what helped me fall in love with her even more was "I Shall Be Released" during a tribute to the great Levon Helm. Oh my god! I don't care if you want to pick through it, but you have to see it...lol.
Hey Michael, Love all your videos. Have a listen to bucket head if you haven't heard of him already. He was a guitarist for guns n roses for a while. Awesome musician! The only live videos I have found of him haven't been the best quality. He wears a bucket on his head and a white mask so could make an interesting video haha. Has over 313 studio albums! This guy is a machine. Some are jam sessions but always finding new pieces of gold.
Wish I could speak guitarnese! I just about shot myself out trying to learn the basics. Much respect. Wonderful performance by Ms Gracie...and enjoyed your breakdown of the arrangement..even though I was slap lost at times. Thank you.
I got on today to request this song. So strange that he is doing a Grace Potter song and you made this request. I listen to it once a month or so for years.
Absolutely, and second this one: "I Shall Be Released. GRACE POTTER. Love for Levon. LIVE HD. Tribute to Levon Helm. " " ua-cam.com/video/CyLcyqrmF3o/v-deo.html
She's great. The first time I heard her was years ago when she opened for Gov't Mule. I don't know if you've heard of Jack Pearson, if not you should check him out. Look up the jam with Jack, Tommy Emmanuel, and Rory Hoffman.
You are so awesome! I have no idea what you're saying but I love it. " Well right there of course you got a 8675309 over a 24-7..." gibberish, gibberish. ;) This is of course only because of my musical ignorance, something which it's starting to change thanks in no small part to Michael. Think you. Love you, love what you do.
Great concert the other night. Always a pleasure to hear you play. I’ve been rewatching your Tyler Childers and Colter videos and thought you would like Ian Noe. He’s from the hills of eastern Kentucky and has a Bob Dylan sound time his voice. I suggest “Methhead” from the Chicago Music Exchange sessions.
That Silver Sky work something great with a delicate song. Grace is amazing. I would think her husband, Eric Valentine, is helping with that sound... not sure anyone else could get that great a live “back porch” sound. Loved the show the other night, it was great and you and the guys were awesome. Should I cross my fingers that it will be a Dead tribute or is that a forgone conclusion? Lol. Thanks Michael, much love from Tulsa.
You see... this is what I'm talking about. Before today, the name Grace Potter meant absolutely nothing to me, you could have convinced me that she is Harry's Aunt?!?! However, you know how this rolls... A Palmisano vid drops, the title of the video is meaningless. You've learned very quickly that if Michael Palmisano is involved then there's got to be something to this... you click in cold, Grace Potter??? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Woah man. If you're not touched by this delivery then you've got to be made of stone. Wow. This song/this video really helped me today. Thank you 🙏🏼
Regarding her impeccable feel: I remember her saying in an interview long ago that a lot of her playing and stage approach was influenced by her poor eye sight. She couldn’t see anyone distinctly in the audience so it allowed her to focus entirely on what’s she’s doing and hearing.
Hey man love the channel i hope this comment doesn't get over looked you need to do Shawn james Eat like kings theres live version from germany its right on par with tyler and colter wall you will love it he has tons of acoustic sessions and a monstrous voice i promise you won't be disappointed.
Love Grace and dig this track but cant help but think the song songs like a mash up of the chords & melody of Little Steven Van Zandt’s I am a patriot with Art& Paul’s Bridge over troubled water... but if inspiration comes there are few better songs to choose from, this is me wondering
Had the pleasure of seeing her a few years ago in Biloxi, Miss, one of the most passionate performers I've ever seen. Her emotions are on full display during her Love for Levon performance of "I Shall Be Released". -----> ua-cam.com/video/CyLcyqrmF3o/v-deo.html
Saw Grace for the first time at a moe.down in 2007 (2006 maybe?) and have been a fan ever since. The Nocturnals were a great band when they were backing her up too. Speaking of moe.down! You gonna do any Moe. or no? You didn't give me that PRS so I think you owe me at least a Moe. jam ;-)
08:35 Bb Major has b flat and e flat. Whereas Fm has A flat, b flat, d flat and e flat. We have G# and its relative minor is Fm. And we have Bb and its relative minor of Gm. Great video though!
Thanks Mike - this was great - love Grace! over to something very different. 13M views - Joe Bonnamassa with Beth Hart. Just love an expert 'experting', Michael is amazing and of course I love music.
She is perfection - always ❤goosebumps and often tears when I listen to her.
Grace Potter is the absolute best!!! Her cover of 'Cortez the Killer' with Joe Satriani is out of this world. Check it out sometime :)
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals in my opinion was the best rock band in the last twenty years, at least.
Amen 🙏🏼
I love everything about this. She's just fantastic.
Monday's with Grace have been one of the better things to come out of quarantine...she's awesome!
My wife and I love Grace and make an annual pilgrimage to her Grand Point North festival in Burlington VT each fall. 100% With you on Grace. I've been a fan of hers for over 10 years. Few artists make me feel music the way that she does.
How can you not love this woman?! She is not only an incredible writer/musician/performer... but she is a beautiful soul and a pure soul.
Love it. Thank you so much for sharing this moment with us.
Marcus King singing “goodbye Carolina” at the grand ole opry is another one of those songs that will give you goosebumps as soon as he starts singing. Would be a great song to react to!!
Beautiful voice and beautiful song!!
Loved the show the other night, thanks for all you do.
So glad you picked this up, I only became aware of her via an old clip of her on Daryl’s House, Things I Never Needed - it’s a stunning performance, hope you check out that one too.
Absolutely beautiful and great walk through. Thanks!
What I actually love most about your videos is the authenticity of your passion, the way you understand music in its emotional complexity and the fact that you simply, in my eyes, have a good taste of music...
I love ❤️ Grace! She is a Force Of Nature!
this song always makes me cry, i think about my dad passing away this year at 50 yrs old
Just getting around to this video - thank you! This was right up my alley and I don't think I've heard grace potter before! The progression/passion reminds me of a great gospel hymn
If you've never seen it, watch Grace sing "I Shall Be Released" at Levon Helm's memorial concert; Love for Levon. It's incredible

You are so right, Dallas Green is a tremendous singer-songwriter. I'll plug Day Old Hate, Hope for Now or As Much As I Ever Could!
I was stopped in my tracks when she sang this one too. Just, wow. Thanks for sharing these great moments and breaking them down a bit.
This is beautiful. Wonderful.
I have been in love with Grace Potter for years. She has immense talent!
I think you'd love Molly Tuttle. Good Enough is a great demonstration of her flat picking and Take the journey exemplifies her clawhammer technique.
Tuesday 🎶🎸👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽.... and Grace is tremendous a great song writer
I had no idea I needed to hear that today. Thank you.
Great video. That why I'm here man, i love this community that turns me on to all these excellent artists. Really good music is surprisingly hard to find nowadays...
I'm with you brother. I love Grace Potter.
Love what you're doing Michael, I'm in for the whole project.
Ugh this song RIPS at my heart every time I hear it. Man it’s so good. Grace is a goddess
Dude this channel is blowing up! So glad to see it. It's already made me a much better guitar player.
Thanks for sharing this, great teaching. And Wow, Grace Potter.. This is the first time I've heard her. The soft side of her voice did not impress me...until she showed me the harsh, gravelly side. Excellent vocalist.
Grace is incredible. The shows with the Nocturnals were always fantastic.
Beautiful song, delivered perfectly ♥️
Love some Grace Potter❤
Love me some Grace! From rompin' stompin' barefoot smokers to those beautiful, tender ballads. She's the real deal! Saw her here in Birmingham this past winter, in a music club that holds about 1,000 folks at the most, and she blew the doors off!
The melody reminds me so much of "If I Go, I'm Goin" Gregory Alan Isakov. Two great songs!
Phenomenal track, bro! I love Gregory Alan Isakov!!
Y'all should see her cover of "Cortez the Killer" with Vai. The sax player is off the charts too. You ever hear a sax and guitar together? This was my first experience with it. Great video again Michael!

YES! Thanks for tuning in!
I felt that big time!

Whoo, VT artist represent!

That’s Alex proctor! Her sound engineer! He is playing a Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesizer
I forgott: if you have a time listen to Cedric Burnside.... Amazing how he put his individuality in this stone old genre.... Love him!
Hey Michael, Love all your videos. Have a listen to bucket head if you haven't heard of him already. He was a guitarist for guns n roses for a while. Awesome musician! Oh man, I love Grace. Her White Rabbit is killer, look that up.
Grace Potter is a rabbit hole all on her own.
React to Cortez the killer with grace and joe?
I got on today to request this song. So strange that he is doing a Grace Potter song and you made this request. I listen to it once a month or so for years.
that whole band on stage with her is badass. The fact that Steve Kimock is up there and playing a backup roll says something.....
Yes, yes, and yes.
Absolutely, and second this one: "I Shall Be Released. GRACE POTTER. Love for Levon. LIVE HD. Tribute to Levon Helm.

My fix when I need one!
Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky (you must check this out)
As a guitar teacher- I don't see him doing this one- but it's one of the best songs in the last 20 years.
Still crying is that okay
She's great. The first time I heard her was years ago when she opened for Gov't Mule. I don't know if you've heard of Jack Pearson, if not you should check him out. Look up the jam with Jack, Tommy Emmanuel, and Rory Hoffman.
Jack Pearson is the man. Here he is with Billy Strings covering the Allman's Elizabeth Reed: ua-cam.com/video/XPx7P-cYY1U/v-deo.html
Grace with Joe Satriani did a great cover of Neil Youngs ' Cortez the Killer' a few years ago, well worth a listen.
Your intro ‘sounded Phrygian’...great banter from your singer during the live stream!
Could you do a video on Doc Watson? My personal favourite is Summertime.
We love you Mike Parmesano
You are so awesome!
I have no idea what you're saying but I love it.
" Well right there of course you got a 8675309 over a 24-7..." gibberish, gibberish. ;)
This is of course only because of my musical ignorance, something which it's starting to change thanks in no small part to Michael.
Think you. Love you, love what you do.

Michael, can you imagine marrying the voices of Grace Potter and Travis Meadows together on stage?
Hello from mexico
Awesome content brother
That Silver Sky work something great with a delicate song. Grace is amazing. I would think her husband, Eric Valentine, is helping with that sound... not sure anyone else could get that great a live “back porch” sound. Loved the show the other night, it was great and you and the guys were awesome. Should I cross my fingers that it will be a Dead tribute or is that a forgone conclusion? Lol. Thanks Michael, much love from Tulsa.
