Great playthrough, great history lesson! When you talk about how people were gradually deprived of freedom, it reminded me of how (if I remember correctly) wool became extremely profitable in the 16th century, which in turn led to peasants being brutally driven off common land. Eventually, this development led to the creation of the modern wage laborer. And here we are now.
How about "Radau" for the German village, which means "Radau-Caseritz" for the area? The place for it was carved from the forest, which is where the first part comes from - prefix Rade- is used for a "clearing" in the woods (cf. English rod, rode, royde), suffix -au is Slavic one (from Slavic -ov, -ów, used by Polabian Slavs and West Slavs in general to refer to a village or place, common in German village names in areas that used to be Slavic). Radau was built mostly by Slavic villagers/workers from Caseritz and Germans were always telling them to go work on the "wood clearing" (go cut down trees) and they added their suffix to it to label the place amongst themselves "Yeah, I have to go to Radeau/ Radau today."... and maybe it stuck?

38:05 This “erosion of rights” is a constant throughout history. It is based on the material interests of the owner class (the lord) and the working class (the peasant). This contradiction within Feudalism is what drove medieval history and led to its eventual collapse. This allowed for the rise of Capitalism (with its inherent contradictions) in its place. The setting of Manor Lords is so interesting to me because it is set at the beginning stages of this qualitative change in society. You can already discern elements of the new system within the old. Fascinating!
This game is so freaking cool, the level of detail is insane considering this is an EARLY ACCESS VERSION. Cannot wait to see what happens in the years to come!
20:17 To make beer, boiling water must be added to the malted grain (this is the main reason beer was safer to drink that water in the medieval, because the process sterilised it). That oven should have an opening in the top you could slot a large boiling pan of water into for a brewery.

The granary mispronunciation as "grainary" is a mistake I've heard native English speakers make, so don't worry too much about it. Great series so far. Loving the historical take.
Yes, the United States did have a job like locators, but it was not quite the same. (Though I can't remember the job title,) this job was paid by the Federal Government to relocate families. Many people were lured out west with "Manifest Destiny," where they were given something like a $100 check (quite a lot of money back in the mid to late 1800's) and told that they had to police themselves so they would not be paying taxes like most people on the Eastern Seaboard. So, in modern terms, you are given $3,000, told to settle both uncharted and unclaimed land, then to develop that land as you see fit, and you don't have to pay taxes, not to mention that you must also administer the law of natural rights as necessary for protection of persons or property.

If you want to be able to focus on esthetics without as much stress you could make an extra log/plank camp and a row of houses who’s whole job is to make war bows then the export them for infinite money. This would make it easier to build out villages. Basically turns free wood into infinite money! Just a suggestion before it gets patched.

I am absolutely going to make a Witcher 3 style map with tiny settlements dotted all over the place with just two to four houses in each. A Witcher game in this genre would be a dream come true. Imagine you're just focusing on making a village somewhere and you get a notification that Ghouls have attacked one of your farms, or a Noonwraith has appeared in one of your fields. The settlements become abandoned if the threat isn't dealt with. Everyone has to chip in to pay a Witcher to come and slay the beasts before that settlement can recover. I want that game so bad !!
6:25 Obviously rumors spread of the house that's bigger on the inside than the outside, and that sounds like the work of the devil, so no one would move in until the place was burnt to the ground.

Maybe you should let viewers suggest names for the villagers (only if they are authentic)
I really love the gameplay and can't wait to get my hands on Manor Lords myself, but more than that thank you for giving the context that you do for what you are doing, it really is quite fascinating and I love your passion for the topic!
Summoning the modder community....! (Keeping my fingers crossed!)
Best manor lords UA-camr
I can’t wait to see the next update to this !!!
I was eagerly waiting for this upload!
About fields being long for oxen, an acre was around the size of land that an ox could plow in an hour with no break.
These can’t come out quickly enough. Love the channel!!
I would love to see you build and talk about other vilages, french, italian, hungarian, etc :D
Love how informative this series is
I really love the historical insights.
A documentary and a gameplay at the same time. Super neat ❤🎉
New settlers arriving at the village looking for work: "Senk you for traveling to deutsche barn" :D
6:25 Obviously rumors spread of the house that's bigger on the inside than the outside, and that sounds like the work of the devil, so no one would move in until the place was burnt to the ground.
damm I really like this content more than I thougth
