Yea what most people don't realise is if they say just play casually, one day they are going to AFK permanently.

Man first of all, much props to you for lasting this long.
I'm a Day 1 player f2p not a single cent spent.
1. But yah DreamRelms really have specify units and you probably didn't know which may have caused your units and resources gains at like 33% efficiency vs other people at 90%+ only cause they're forcing themselves to follow a certain meta. I've made it too top 100 in some of the dream realm not cause of skills, but because I did the hole meta slave route, it's payed off well. But it wasn't to fun.
2. The part of the game being competitive is probally no joke, legit only the most highest tier people are getting good resources and they're pretty much whales at this point, especially since it's character level gates (mythic, supreme, paragon ect).
3. And for all those, "just don't play the game" is legit a toxic mindset, it's like being pissed of when some one criticism them and feel like they just hating. Heck alot of people are now dropping like flies, so you went from a party to a like 3 people at the party.
4. Rewards? Lord I think it cause day one player legit got spoiled and later one didn't and people felt legit mad, so they upped it and now it's ok, but again it's probally has to do alot of being a meta slave or else your not going to have resources to spend
But yah the game is getting legit bland, and I'm currently have a heck of alot of resources, have 61B power so yah I'm pretty up there for a f2p player.
But if anything they could probally fix the game according to where they are
Early game players, just a good guide for what units to go for, especially for you my guy, since I saw the spell you had for the spiders and I'm like, oh god, he needs to be using the starshard spell( fire AOE damage shreds the spider levels). Something for them to strive for and no regret bundling the wrong units.
Mid players are not real, just focus on what needs to be done
And as an end player, legit just a reset on resources cause I build a few units that have such niche roles that now it takes so long to build up the more hungry units.

As someone on the first servers, it gets worse... I quit after duras trials 7 and 8 were being reached and the season seemed like it was dead.... And then there will be a new season that it will happen again...
I think seasons is the reason the game will ultimately die. They should have added to the core game over time and just rotated content in and out when filler was needed.
Which is opposite to most gacha as they tend to be what draws people in
I'm a day 1 player and I did buy the daily diamond pass thing one time at the start but stopped because it wasn't that great for me. I play about 10 mins a day because it's not interesting anymore. Now it's just login do the dailies, put the afk stage on auto and keep playing until it fails then rinse and repeat. The game isn't enjoyable, the free resources have been pretty bland and it's now getting to the point where it's a chore to play. I'm sticking around to get my final Hypo/Cele from the free banner thing (Berial) but yeah it's not fun anymore and I've been seeing guilds from servers 1-12 dying. I think the kicker is the season thing, you make all this progress for your season and then bam you're reset and have to do it all again.
From Sensor Tower, the game brought in USD 7m and Arena brought in $2m. For a new game to be just doing that much more is kinda bad and I personally don't see it lasting long given how the devs have pushed for some pretty bad things like time-gated events or A-Tier limited heroes.
I can't imagine being day 1 and seeing all this go down in real time.
I spent a bit, ranking top 20 most content...and my biggest issue is that the seasonal events are just not fun...the best part of Journey is playing through new zones...the reputation clans are boring daily minigames...the guild events are cool but drag for far too long...hell Guild Supremacy lasts 40 days...are you kidding me.
Next big thing for me...the released units are just meh...A tiers in rate up banners...the only actually good 2 units released are both Cele/Hypos...
And to think that all this progression being deleted when the season ends...the grind for Magic Charms alone...I'm holding out for now...but shit needs to get more fun and engaging.

the clan mission tired me out the most. i had to do 3-6 fetch quests every day to earn clan points. Why does this game have the afk label on it? its nothing like an afk game.
Big true, so much requires active commitment and time sink. I havent started the clan missions and ngl, not super excited lol
The game gives you resources to get about half the heroes you need, and gives you enough to get them halfway to where you need them.
If you want full teams with exclusive weapons, it will cost you.
If you want hypo/celes, it will cost you 4x.
But at the end of the day, they made a quality game with great art, voice work, and strategy. My money is better spent here than in other games, imo
It does have quality but cutting off that quality of life for f2p before they can make end game progression or requiring complete meta focus from the beginning is ridiculous. Spending money is your prerogative, and I dont think it's not well spent, in fact it's basically required, but requiring players spend money doesnt make it good reason to.
Complaint a lot, made a lot of sense, reasonable yet high expectations…
F2P here stuck with a chore I’ve spend over 195 days into enjoying it a bit and regretting a lot (pulls and choices). I understand and appreciate the effort cause whether or not it’s your videos there have been some changes in the game appealing to your content (which in turn is a lot of common sense).

Maybe its just my server, but I feel like I am doing ok, at least when it comes to my guild. Im completely f2p, but oftentimes make it to the top 5 contributions in battles. Feels good to matter without having to spend lots of money and time. Plus, as much as I like the game, I'm simply ok with being an average player. If your guild respects you and your efforts, then that is usually fine with me. As to attaining ranks, I cant remember a game where I was ever in the top bracket of anything. So I fully expect that will continue, no matter what game I try. But thats just me.
@@japan100100 I think I'm okay with never ranking, but if rewards are so small that it's either all or none, I'll stick to the bare minimum and not break f2p
This game is so low time invested, I love it. AFK is def the game cause you can realiticly do everything needed within half an hour & then wait till reset. Maybe an hour if you want to do EVERYTHING! I just do bare minimum (F2P player)

Both me and my friend only bought the noble path for S10 and .99cents on new player offers here and there. By day 60 were in a good spot, and that was after pivoting from our early game mistakes. It wasnt until the new season started that i stareted building into control with eiron, caroline, ardy, damian, and granny. I aslo started buidling into dream realm with marilee, koren, reiner, koko, and lucius. Working on temesia, vala, shakir, and alsa now. Not sure what went wrong for you to be this hard stuck on day 55. IMO, if you logged in 55 days to play this game, spend the little bit of money on the path stuff and gazette. The growth bundles get expensive, but worth it if youre invested into leaderboards, dream realm, and especially pvp. Even on my f2p acc, i finished this season easily, but that was mostly because i knew what to pull and had control early on. Made most content easy, but a little bit harder for learderboards. My only guess is you pivoted too much.
I do agree, early on spending can fix most woes and a plan early on can be key, but a game shouldn't base their entire player base off those two ideas. I mention that in my point about casual players and investing in metas points.
@@ShawnSetGO I mean the meta is $$$ lol. Jokes aside, 55 days log in doesn't seem casual. If a casual has logged in this many days, clearly the game is doing something right. So if you enjoy it enough, do some light spending. Day 80 for me, and I've only spent $30. Top 400 supreme arena, top 40 arena, top 30 dream realm. I could get higher after I finish my Mauler comp, and if I grinded harder. I'm always 20-50 levels behind haha. But ye man, game falls off hard in the end game once you realize you can't compete with people spending 100s, 1000s, or tens of thousands. But I'm happy with my ranks.

My opinion is that a player has to pick one of these options
First:
Spend or F2P - spenders can often do whatever they want, so now I'll carry on with F2P
1. Play for fun and don't care about meta. Just play casual and enjoy the character you like, but then you shouldn't be surprised if you're subpar or straight up bad. It's a strategy game, and anyone who has played any game similar knows that there will be a meta, and heroes are never created equally, though they can be sleepers at times.
2. What I did. I didn't know anything about the game, so I made sure to research for a few hours before I did too many of my first pulls, to make sure I had a decent rooster. Checking out like 5-10 different tier lists that are independent, you can figure out whats mostly consistent across them and what the best hereos in a game are. I do the same for recipes when cooking to get inspiration.
3. Play casual for fun. Basically 1., but the difference is that after you figure out the game, you start a new account that you can play more "hardcore" and streamlined.
If you don't spend you won't EVER be server 1 and high-ranked. Just impossible, so no reason to try. Thus one of these 3 options is the formula for every single gacha game at least.

@@ShawnSetGO Not really anywhere in particular, I just look for what I need, and evaluate if I think the site looks "good", as to if the information is up-to-date and useful.

I know that I am a very competitive person. I rank top 1% in most games I play like CS 1.6, LoL, HS Battlegrounds etc. without much effort more than just enjoying the games.
Therefore I know I can't do even a game like this "casually". I will want to have done whatever I can to give myself the best odds. I generally love min-maxing in games and theorycrafting. Sadly these games don't allow for much "trial and error" with different heroes as F2P, so I can only min-max them instead.
Figuring out that this game essentially "punishes" holding on to summons etc. is also a part of that, as I had not played such a game before, so I like scouting out games, and using my previous experience to "crack" how they are played most optimally.

Btw dont listen to the ppl who say your account is bad. Im 30 days in and I would be hype to have as many units as you do that are mythic lol. I have 1 mythic Thoran and thats it. Rest is L+ and below. I think people are just crying about optimization like how they would focus more on some meta unit instead of Cass or something. I get your frustration with how we should be able to build most characters and be happy with the end results rather than feeling like we screwed ourselves out of progressing by picking a character you like, rather than a character that is just "meta".

Its a afk(idle) gacha game.
F2P or spend is completely own choice but if you f2p you are competing vs other f2p.
With the wishlist and pity system you can't blame bad luck for having much bad roster compared to other f2p.
If you are 55 days into the game and not in early competitive servers
You probably can tell that only ~20 people spent more than $100
and prob like 3% spent less than that
and 97% is completely f2p.
At that point you are not unlucky you are just bad.
Same f2p resources in gacha, same 24 hours in idle game
Its like playing chess and crying that the game doesn't let you take back 30 wrong moves.
If the game gives all the f2p enough resources to make all the wrong choices and still not affect progression,
All the choices you make in the game is completely meaningless.

8:36 try replacing Thoran with Korin. Thoran is meta for Necrodrakon but only at M+
@riggo6830 yeah, as I had explained, my 3 attempts usually include either lucius, korin, or kreuger as well as Thoran no one or the other because I dont have Thoran mythic plus. Korin instead of Thoran is interesting though so I'll let you know
Rhys and brutus have the aoe to cleave thru the spider mobs, otherwise arden & cecia to lockdown the highly mobile enemies.
I have one copy of Rhys, Brutus is legendary so no can do brother.
I personally use an arden, parisa, damian (usually with eironn, reinier or thoran/hewynn for sustain. But like I've said, I could spend a lifetime talking possible outcomes, there's literally no point when people don't listen
I quit because they kept releasing exclusive banners for A-tier heroes. Also, this game needs more boobage.

Interesting, pretty well discussed video😂 i disagree with almost all 10 points.. 55 days in?? 😅 its laughable account- definately not hours per day, and deficit pushing.. well involves pushing a deficit.. im in a whale server and guild.. days that i work to much..15 minutes takes care of all my requirements.. 45 minutes a day keeps me top 20 in every game mode (cept honor duel- that can die) ppl are so quick to be angry afk arena had all these same videos its first months.. but 5 years strong.. journey is kinda awesome, some issues for sure- but game ending trajic?? I disagree
It's easier to keep rank than it is to earn it brother. I never said I need a jacked account at 55 days, but getting constantly roadblocked by the game and huge gaps between enjoyable gameplay and just farming nonsense is ridiculous. Then room temperature IQ folks like yourself claiming it's laughable or a bad account come in and dissect out what they enjoyed with their whale account have no actual perspective that isn't BATHED in copium. Also, afk arena exists in irrelevance or only for P2W whales who claim their game is competitive when it's literally just a wallet game.

The difference in f2p and p2w should be speed of access, but that does not mean f2p can't have access as well (nor would that effect ranking).
The mage build is the payer = skill doesnt matter if you're non meta can pay to be supreme+ and one shot.
The mage build can also be the f2p because the casual argument should allow me to play simply and still complete content effectively, even though it lacks complexity.
So what you have here is two meanings that can both exist simultaneously, you just chose to deliberately misunderstand me because you have the comprehension of a kindergartner.

I say to , I spent around 600eur on game, first month like 10× gazettes both and growth packs. Now I buy only 1.99 $packs only. Since maybe 30 eur monthly. Every single day, top 5 on arena and top 10 in dream realm. I pretty happy with that and love the game a lot.
Resources management most important thing in game. G9od luck bro, open new server and play again, no leave. It's nice game when u can be in top 10 everywhere:)
