I mean, if you want to create an Alicorn OC with a backstory, there is always the "different universe" card. In my experience, this is very much acceptable, even among Alicorn-OC-haters.
my OC's cutiemark is Borage flower, because it symbolises Courage, he got it when he decided to not let others continue to abuse him, physycally, verbaly or emoutonally
I never got, or actually believe there ever was, alicorn hate. I think it’s just those reasons you mentioned why you should think before you want to one, but I think most people want to be a regular pony because they’re more relatable.
My oc is actually an alicorn of a special race that resides in a different realm. I think because everything about my oc, kingdom, realm, and even the language is well thought out people tend to like her. Not once have I gotten any hate or the Mary Sue comment which makes me truly happy.
To me its always about the color matchings. Really the show thrives on this with some exceptions.

Beyond this, I still for one would like to see more of something discussing by or between people the perhaps still lingering ties one can or could make between MLP:FiM and something of if not "the" Yog-Sothoth Mythos / Mythology, aka the "Lovecraft Mythos..."
To say how it still would seem to have a feel to things in the series 'hay day,' so to say of a kind of way about things such as with the Castle, the Tree, and the Box that along with the Elements, there is something somewhat 'more' to things than what we can directly see or perceive.
We get a piece of this with S.5 's finale where various parallel timelines are if briefly seen or explored, such we can understand these all exist and had always at some level existed and will have continued to exist after shows events, Sans perhaps now with a pedestal that would not have before been there possibly connecting them all now together and to the 'mane' timeline as we understand things..... so to say.
Though by this point in the show's degeneracy of writing quality if scope of depth at least, it is clear they are looking more to 'wrap things up' than they are concerned with reaching for the stars that would help in her escape, or even perhaps beyond into the truths of all things for their world and the greater verse it is a part of. tis' a real shame . . .
(and I very doubt G5 will do more than play it safe if it really gets made)
I’ve been stuck between a unicorn or a bat-winged pegasus whenever I think of what my character would be. I funny enough made art of both variants (a unicorn who focuses around Fear Based magic, using it to help ponies conquer their phobias, an a brown furred, scarf wearing bat pony with a cute little fang that pokes out).
Sadly, while I love both those designs, I don’t fully relate to either. Yet I love those two species the most. The only thing I can POSSIBLY think of is a bat winged alicorn, but I am unsure about that. I finally decided that if I do give the character a cutie mark (since I still haven’t quite found out myself still, even in my 20s), it’ll likely be something relating to gaming. Whether that is like a card, similar to Yugi Brony’s cutie mark (though I’d likely have several cards since I play several games, being Yugioh, MTG, Vanguard, and Buddyfight, not to mention some Pokemon between both cards and Video games), or, the more likely one as of now, a D20 that has rolled a 13 (I’m currently world building a campaign to dm for some coworkers, while we’ll also be players together under a separate dm. As for the 13, that’s simply my lucky number, while also being the typical number of misfortune. Possibly meaning I sap the luck away from others. Which, seems to be the case. If I leave a room, someone playing a gatcha game or scratching a lottery ticket, even if they’ve done it 5 times with me in the room and lost every time, will win something even small. Meanwhile I have awful luck with things unless I’m in the same room as others. As proven by my luck with booster packs. I have to be near someone else when choosing my packs even or else I’ll jinx myself with bad, easily repeated pulls.)

In the comics, we had kelpies, which I really liked, and abira, from Arabian myth.
Also be careful about recolors. Recolors can come across as kinda lazy.
Good advice. Well if you start making a of think indeed of what you connected more and which colours you like and try to combinate to colours on a good way. I have only one question for you. What about saffron masala? She is also a interesting pony character.
I have a changling OC which I love because it allows me to have two OC’s one which is the main changling OC and a earth pony OC which I have as my changlings disguise
How to make a alacorn oc
1.pick five or under strong magic spells
2.keep your stile less power and more small power
3.also add the wings and horn make it look like its natural
4, don't spoil it
5. Add a good back story like my gacha life oc kai
6.have a right cutie mark!

My OC is an earth pony because I have always seen them as the more creative and artistic. The vest, hat and boots are because I am absolutely in love with all things western. The glasses are simply because I wear glasses in real life. My OC is various shades of blue because blue has always been my fave color while the mane and tail are yellow because I have blond hair in real life. I am also a bit more on the stubborn side which is also why I went for earth pony as well as because I have a love for gardening. We grow our own cucumbers every year.
I'm here for Tricky. Who cares about Ponies when we have a multi-tailed fox?
This is why I have my alicorn oc be from another world, and his power came from there, cause I knew an explanation for this in fim would be difficult

I have a half pony half dragon OC, aka a draconequus, who does not have discords powers, they have a unicorn horn and dragon wings but they're NOT an alicorn, their father is a unicorn and their mother is a dragon and the reason they have wings is because of the molt (the thing that gave Spike his wings), and I'm still trying to figure out the cutie mark

I have an Alicorn Princess Oc but everyone loves her. And they always tell me that they love that she is so basic. Still they always seem to draw the Earth Pony Form of her (she was an Earth Pony bevor she bcame an Alicorn). She still only learns to control her new body parts. She starts with flying which is why she isn't using magic yet.
But... Zebras... How could you not mention Zebras? We're cool, too!!
Well because technical speaking Zebras are not ponies XD And since Zecora is our only point of reference so far I don't have much to say about them
@@TrickyFox93 I will give you Zecora as our only point of reference makes talking about them a bit difficult, but Zebras are as much ponies as sea ponies or kirin. Just saying. ;)
Honestly, I just hope we get at least one episode in Zecora's homeland in this final season. :(

0:00-0:35 I don't see why Tricky shouldn't mix things up. If he wants to do something other than pony videos then fine, he can do something other than pony videos. I read MLP fanfics, but i'm also doing a readthrough of the Big Hero 6 and Inside Out crossover story Empathy to keep things fresh. It's good to have variety in UA-cam videos is what i'm saying!

Very intersting video, that was nice to reamphise on the specificitie of each ponies but I think you forgot to talk about crystal ponies, I know little is know compare to the tribe (exempt the crystaling state when there are happy )
