To be fair to Fox, this was one of their first tries at comedy. You could see the beginnings of Matthew Perry's rise but ultimately the writing was not quite up to the level of Married with Children. Comparing Chazz with Chandler you might assume Perry was a one note actor, but if you watch other performances (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, West Wing, Fools Rush In, Saving Sara, the Odd Couple and more) you'll see that Chazz and Chandler are only a branch on the Matthew Perry tree. It saddens me that I won't get to see what he could have done.
It is very brilliant, i agree with you! Maybe better for an hourlong drama. I think the snide 90’s humor was a bad choice…a more homespun or loving/friendlier group of players would help. The sarcasm is too overt here, like on most 90’s programming in the US.

Kiel martin who played older Chaz was 43 when he did this show. He was a heavy smoker like lots of people of his generation. He died like three years later from lung cancer. If you look at 40 year olds from the 1980s they look way older than 40 year olds today

Every scene with Chazz and Charles is GOLD. Theyre so funny together, especially Chazz. This is a pretty mediocre show honestly but I'm enjoying it.
