    Matthew was so dreamy here, so witty, lovable and handsome. When Conan said "they're sad that you're leaving now" at the end, I thought I was going to cry. We are certainly sad to see you go. You will be missed.

      True. But it didn't buy happiness or solve the kind of problems *money can't buy*. It didn't help him in sobriety. He had what lots of ppl think is "having it all" but he really had nothing, he spent his life painfully lonely. He said so in his book. Looks, talent, money & fame are superficial, he thought it would solve all his problems, initially. If only he'd understood when young that true happiness & contentment doesn't come from that😔.
      He was so enjoyable to watch or listen to, like this.

    Despite all the heartbreaks we endure this time around with Matthew's passing, there's some joy to be had in knowing that towards the end of his life before his passing, it seemed as though he finally conquered the demons that he struggled for so long throughout his life and managed to pull things together. So he was fighting through it all and never completely gave up and got beaten, he in a way won.

    Matthew Perry carried Friends in those early seasons before David Schwimmer really got out of his shell and found his groove. Perry had it all and he was just playing every single episode. Incredible to watch him back then - Haven't seen such comedic in a sitcom acting performance apart from in Frasier. RIP to the legend, Matthew Perry

    • @mallurypollard7815
      @mallurypollard7815 9 місяців тому +18

      It was more the show’s narrative that drove who was funny when. Seasons 1-3 were all about Ross and Rachel drama so Chandler/Joey stuff had more room to be laugh out loud funny. Watch season 4 again and once she’s not in a relationship, Jen Aniston/Rachel is really hilarious. She got to shine once she wasn’t the love interest anymore. Once Chandler/Monica got together it handicapped Perry’s talent big time and once the 3 divorces happened to Ross he was a walking punchline and couldn’t miss. Also, Kudrow is pretty solid throughout and it’s not a surprise she’s the only one that won an individual award for the show.

    • @MichaelHolmgaard
      @MichaelHolmgaard 9 місяців тому +8

      @@mallurypollard7815 It was really a let down for the show's comedy when Chandler got with Monica. It happens a lot in these types of shows - Niles lost a lot of his funny bones in Frasier after he was coupled with Daphne. The writing has a lot to do with that and the show held up in the end primarily because David Schwimmer was set free. I think the show runners knew that David was needed at that point because it was difficult for Matthew to deliver those jokes in a couple setting.

    It's really amazing how ahead of its time the show was, can't believe it started in 1994. Recently watched the first season and it mostly feels like a modern sitcom even though it's 30 years old and the jokes are just as funny now. Also, because it was shot on 35mm, the HD scans look really high quality, so it looks modern too. In 1994 this was groundbreaking TV. Finnish TV broadcasts two episodes of Friends every night and six episodes in a row both on saturday and sunday. It's a series that has come on practically non-stop since it started in 1994, and since then it has been my favorite comedy series along with Seinfeld. Chandler is allways be my favorite character alongside Joey. It is very difficult and hard for me to understand and process in my mind that Matthew Perry has left us. It just doesn't feel real.. You were a super good actor and comedian and person. You will be greatly missed by millions of people. thanks for everything!🌟

    What a great person we lost. He might not like this, but he WAS Chandler Bing. I can't imagine the character played by anyone else; it wouldn't be belivable. And how incredibly funny he was. Thank you Matthew, for carrying your load and turn it into pure fun for everyone else.

    Really funny interview! Matthew was a gifted comedic actor, and he left us way too soon.
    Hopefully his memoir helps many people to better understand addiction.
    RIP Matthew Perry

    god.. he was so funny, this man made me laugh my entire life and just when i started having problems with my addiction using opiates, he released the best memoir i've ever read and God knows how many people he helped with just that memoir or making people laugh on Friends or by making he's old house in Malibu a REHAB and he sponsored so many alcoholics and helped them... i miss you Mathew Perry and i will be forever grateful for what you did and the effect you had on this world, no enough words can describe how sad i am.. rest easy Mattman

    He was so happy lucky going, how did his life change coz of addiction.
    Just imagine if he didn’t get the ugly addiction how happy he would’ve been today. Married and with kids
    God did give him everything but internally didn’t give him peace.
    I hope he is at peace now
    Thanks Matthew perry for everything
    You will always bring a smile on my face 💗
