I think Samsung and (maybe other Android OEMs) are trying to devalue the iPhones in the used market which is a risky, but great strategy. I think it's great for competition and it boost other people with Androids to trade for newer phones better and more exclusive. IMO

The iPhone 13 Pro Max in Canada is already like 1.5 times more expensive than the Note 20 Ultra and Samsung is still giving you like $400 more in trade-in value for the Note phone than the iPhone. That's really crazy but kudos to them! Honestly, if you're an iPhone user, there's no reason to even sell the phone on Samsung's website, just sell it online.

Samsung can reuse the old Samsung phone parts or replace other parts they can reuse some apple products but not much

They want to horde the old galaxy phones so there are less of them on the market so you have to buy the new one. I was waiting for the note 20 ultra to go on sale when the new s22s came out but they are no longer selling almost any note. Maybe the base 128 model. But the 500gb is hard to find, and only in black. That is not the case with any other phones except since the note 10. It's crazy.

What up boy! So check this Through T-Mobile I traded in it is in these 4 phones for my family for my family for S22 variants. I traded in my note 10 plus for 1000, my sons S 10 for 800 my wife S10E for 800 and my other sons note 8 for 800. This was all pre order yesterday so throw on top the Samsung credits that's like 3600! I was like where do I sign? 🤣🤑😆

I don't think that's what they're doing! I think they're paying so much for their own phones because they turn around and resell them as refurbished.

They want the Samsung phones because they have the parts to refurbish and sell for less of en expense. iPhones get sold to a third party for more than they give you but it still a hassle to resell the iPhones for Samsung.

Samsung is just doing the same thing that Apple is doing. On the Apple site, they're only taking previous iphones as trade-in.
I was going to switch from the s21 ultra to the 23 pro max, saw that they didn't want my s21, and said forget it.

Samsung immediately lets you know they don't want ur iPhone, they short change you from the gate with an iPhone . You're better off selling it on your own and then using that money toward a purchase.

I wonder if part of it is staying within their brand allows them to resell better. Apple's website has terrible trade-in offers on their website if you have an android device.
Also, I got an ad for the smallest of the new Samsung tablets for $99 with the lowest specs and a trade-in. Not a bad deal if you already have a device, but they don't go very far back on what trade-ins you can make for previous tablets. And I don't particularly want to trade in my phone for a tablet! 🤣
