      If one will both do singing and acting like voice acting to read in scripts for audiobooks and such but also do Stand Up comedy and want a mic I can bring with me, can I use only this mic for all these things?
      How to compare this mic to the 440 Pure mic or perhaps better compared to the Flex 441 for singing and voice work?!
      Please help me understand the differences and what I best get out of this mic compared to the others better so that I can make an educational purchase!
      😄🙏🏻 Thank you 🇸🇪

    I'm still thrilled with the Samsung QU2. Even compared to some high-end microphones most people don't hear the subtle differences guys like us hear. I'll never be convinced to spend anything over a hundred bucks for a good mic thanks to this channel lol

    Very nice option. Lewitt sounding good again. Thank you for this detailed review. Standalone, I'm more inclined to go smooth such as the KSM8, but in a mix, I see this microphone shine without needing tons of compression. Great room rejection. Damn.

    The Shure Beta 87a i think it has the best sound/price ratio i liked it even more than the lewitt at least in your voice, of course doesn't compare to the neumann or the earthworks those are incredible

    Thank you Bandrew. I have ordered mine within 5 min after watching your review. I’m traveling around the different countries every 3 months in this corona world, and of-course I never have/had a treated room for my vocal and acoustic guitar. So maybe this is an only best option which I could get(except muddy SM58). Problem is I have NT1KIT which I bought after watching your reviews before as well. ;( Anyway, thank you!

    Hi Bandrew, wow this was the review I was looking forward to, for a long time. Handheld mics are getting popular for youtubers. They sound good, are petite & cut ambient noise. I'd love a review on Audio technica elite series family of handheld condenser & dynamic mics. I believe they are the best sounding, have reduced pop & handling noise. Cheers.

    I have the 740 CM which is just a cardioid only version of this, it's really great in the studio for recording scratch vocals or in a reflective room. The only thing is the proximity effect can get really strong pretty quickly but nothing that can't be fixed by backing away a little or EQ.

    Thank you very much, Bandrew for this again informative and entertaining review and comparison!
    I really liked your voice best on the Lewitt. What I didn't like was the sound of the acoustic guitar, I found it unbalanced.
    PS: I'd love to see you testing the Sennheiser MK8 multi pattern microphone.

    I like the format of your videos it's fairly consistent and well done. One minor cratique, or thought: Could you leave the text up on the screen that describes the gain you add in post on the screen for a little bit longer after you say "check the dubly due to see what I didly did". I guess now that I've watched your videos a few times I'm looking out for it but I think that might help new viewers and me as well if I'm not paying as close attention. Overall great videos, I really appreciate them, thanks for all the great work your doing for the community!

    Hello from Portugal! First, I'd like to thank you for the excellent job you do in your reviews. I was completely blind when I decided to make a podcast, and now I see!(not the best joke, I know). The point is that I really learned from your videos, and I even watch them just for entertainment. I would like to request a comparative review on the RODE M3, I know you have a video on the RODE M3 but I would really like a more thorough review on that one. I feel that mic is a really good one for its price but I would like to see it through all the tests and comparisons you might do. Thank you for making the internet a better place.

    Bandrew, this is a difficult review but I would give this one a "yes and no" recommendation. As you note, how good it "sounds" is a matter of personal preference but my gosh it is so close to the much cheaper Lewitt 350 and I thought the 350 sounded as good if not better. Obviously the SM58 had a darker tone, the v7 brighter, etc. The Rode M2, a noisy microphone (I have one), sounded awfully good by comparison. Maybe the Beta 58a and a Fethead would have been an interesting comparison. Maybe the Blue Encore 300 (smooth but watch the plosives) with the Fethead Phantom. But go back to the Lewitt 350 and the Rode M2. They are a fraction of the price so the question really boils down to whether at $600 you're getting four times the microphone? I think for most people the answer would easily be "no." Of course, if Rode could find a way to get the NT1 into a handheld but I digress...

    • @dickginkowski6071

      OOPS...forgot to mention that the Shure KSM8 sounds a bit smoother for less$.

    • @rainy2299219
      @rainy2299219 2 роки тому

      I think in this kind of technique area when you reach a price point, price and quality will not be just simple math. Even just slight improvement may be involved engineers lots of hard work. So yeah sometimes 4 times of price doesn't mean 4 times better. But 940 do offer me more options and more detailed sound than m2

    btw.. I have been buying and testing a few "decent" mics for setting up a work-from-home place, and.. I was amazed to see how badly the popular work communication apps (especially MS Teams, also Zoom) compress and ruin a good input signal when sent over to the servers and back.
    In local recording, I could easily hear a huge diff between, say, webcam mic, Snowball, a usb condenser mid, and a usb dynamic mic. When doing a Teams "test call", *all* of them sound bad, and not that distinct from each other. Honestly, now idk - what aspecs of a mic should we even be looking at, when choosing it for Zoom/Teams use? Because the normal voice signatures, warmth, nasallyness - all these differences completely disappear / get changed when going through the network transcoding/compression :(
    So now I kinda feel I wasted my money with the Audio tech. condenser and dynamic mics, mic arm, shock mount, pop filter, when the result is still so bad and a cheapo headset probably would've sounded 99% similar on Teams/Zoom...

    Bandrew you are the best, thank you for all your videos ! It would be interesting if you reviewed on of the best handheld condenser microphones: Sennheiser e965 like Lewitt 940M it also has 1" capsule., cardioid and super cardioid polar pattern but made in Germany! (at least mine is ) - I prefer it to Neumann Ksm 105

    • @rainy2299219
      @rainy2299219 2 роки тому

      940 provided high pass and low cut, and wild cardioid which 965 doesn't have, and I own both, yes they have different "personalities" but incorporated to "quality"... I have both of them almost in the same time but I sent 965 to prepare once and 940 still working perfectly... So I guess where it made just bring different preferences into the products but nothing means in quality. Oh maybe because Hewitt gives me a hard carry case for perfect protection which Sennheiser only gives me a canvas poach...

  • @MatthewDouglas805
    @MatthewDouglas805 3 роки тому

    Although not as feature filled as the MTP 940 CM, I prefer that the Earthworks, Neuman, Sennheiser, etc. are not made in China. I'm not saying that I wouldn't buy a mic made in China, but at $700+ COO becomes a pretty major consideration. At that price point I get pretty selective about where it is coming from.
    That being said, it sounds great... as does most of Lewitt's line.

    Really appreciate your reviews and have purchased some Mic's based on these reviews. However.....for my use......Mic's over $200 are not worth it IMO (for gigs or studio ) . Let's face it, the audience ....half listen, are either eating, dancing , using their phones , looking to pick up a date.....and /or drunk. For a pro recording studio or podcast I'd be a little more picky but still wouldn't pay a ton of $$. It is what it is. ....just my pretzel logic.

      Impossible not to have at least components made in China in microphones, regardless if the "Made in.." label says Germany, Austria, UK, USA or Russia. Same for the device you posted your comment on. The current reality is that China is the work bench of the world, and changing that won't be easy because it isn't economical to do without a severe change in how Capitalism works. And I don't see companies, politicians or consumers currently willing to do so.

      @@jcstrabo It isn´t that black/white like you described it. I know for sure that Neumann, Schoeps and Microtech Gefell produce all of their mics in Germany, Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser at least most of their mics. Of course, China is the current work bench of the world and we all can see where that leads to. So I´m making my small contribution to change it and try to avoid products made in China, what means no Lewitt, no Behringer etc.
