- Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your TOSHIBA A105 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

I just have to report that this procedure here was responsible for the resurrection of my A105. It had been in CONSTANT use from August 2006, and just today, July 12th, 2015, it started doing all sorts of godawful things that smacked of total breakdown. It wouldn't allow me to log in to my system. The password panel kept flashing numbers and letters randomly without my touching a thing. Even booting in safe mode didn't help, and none of my anti-malware programs, which were all updated this morning, did a bit of good. Phooey! Then I came across this, and I decided, well, it can't hurt to take the damn thing apart and clean it, which is what I did. Man, I never imagined that much crud could gather on the circuit boards and, well, everything. It was FILTHY. With a fine camel hair brush, felt and compressed air I took over two hours cleaning everything I could. I put it back together, and it works like new, even better than I can remember. Just needed to share that....Thanks!
Dan Berkey Hey, thank you so much for such a positive story! There are always people who actually does things and not just complaining that my antistatic wrist band is not grounded. Thank you for sharing your experience!
It is amazing that the A105 will still compute today without any problems. It is now 9 years old. The fan was replaced in 2012. Upgraded the RAM in 2008. SOLID
+aducksecho I have a 6 years old laptop. Still works. Easily see it running another 3 years.
Laptop DC Jack For TOSHIBA Satellite A100-786
Just cleaned out the dryer lint out of my heat sink and replaced the on/off switch. Thanks for the video to help me along.
Really helpful - it's the plastics that are always the big puzzle!
John Vickers - yeah, plastic parts in this old toshibas are just ridiculous.
I have one of those computer's and want to get into it and this video will help me out. I want to check the fan assembly and clean it out the apply fresh paste on the affected parts before reassembly.
Thank you for taking the time to share this know how, much appreciated.
Toshiba Satellite A 100 serii Bios resetleme işlemidir. Kesinlikle Bios pili ile oynamaya gerek yoktur. Bios pili sadece sistem tarih/saat ayarlarını kontrol edip, bios şifresine müdahale edememektedir. Bilgisayarın klavyesinin altındaki wi-fi kartını çıkartıp ardından videoda gösterildiği noktalara herhangi bir iletken ile bilgisayar açılana kadar kısa devre verildiği taktirde bios şifresi devre dışı bırakılmaktadır. Ben birkaç deneme sonrası yaptım türkçe olmadığı için bu yazıyı yazıyorum teknik servis arkadaşlara kolay gelsin... Amazing video this is great.!!
Cool. I have the A105-S4324 version, which was my very first laptop back in 2006 while in school. This thing is still running but I need to upgrade some components. I was wondering how to get to the wifi adapter. I was just pulling it apart and working with what little room I had. I also need to change out the keyboard as a button broke off. the DVD drive stopped working awhile back and never really looked into it. It plays CDs fine.
I think cheapest way will be to find similar motherboard but not working one. Take out this clip and place it on your motherboard.
Thanks for posting this. I need to change out my power switch. Now it wil be easy.
Thanks for making this video. I'm hoping that my Toshiba will be fixed soon because of it. This was helpful for determining whether or not to take it to a professional, and we think he'll be able to handle it, based on having seen this video.
Saw what I was looking for. Thanks.
I saw one video from a guy who had a plastic container to keep the screws in and I guess he had taken many laptops apart and separated the screws in each compartment according to where they came from That sounds like a better idea to me so you don't leave any out when re-assembling the laptop.

keep track of all screws - whatever is works for you - is for sure a GOOD idea!!!
btw, thanks for telling me that, recently I found one of my videos first two minutes are still picture with sound and after 2.19 finally video starts. Video was about 2 month and 1k+ views old and nobody told me anything :)

The three clips that connect the three flat wire bands under the keyboard were brittle and broke...where can I get replacements and what are they called?
were you able to resolve this issue and where did you locate the parts. Ran in to the exact same thing. all three snapped with any type of pressure.
You are welcome!
