Even though kid me was also kind of disappointed by generic attacks, I somewhat find it kind of "endearing". Like an obvious sign of it being the first Tenkaichi game. At least they did Ginyu's ultimate justice, meanwhile 2 and 3.... are pretty disappointing.

I remember having an Xbox until I was out of high school and my friend gave me a ps2 and I bought this game, I was so exited since the only Dragonball game on the Xbox was Sagas. I played this game everyday feeling so happy to be able to play this game. Then I got Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and it was GG for my social life

It's me or some of the stages in BT1 are slightly cooler looking than some of the ones in BT2-3? I love the aesthetic of the 1st game. Something about BT1 goofy ahh controls and very different soundtrack makes it special for me.
Zarbon's second form reminds me of a toad with a green wig on.
I wish I can relived this game bcuz I beated the whole game and there were certain characters I didn’t have and there was an option where u fuse the potara earring together to unlock an secret character 😔

I’ve been playing through the story wondering why it was so hard, I realized I had been playing on the hardest difficulty the whole time lmao. SSJ2 Vegeta vs Kid Boo took me 2 hours to beat

I'm extremely surprised yall had issues with this game entirely back then, but the most annoying bs was fighting guldo who kept running away. Using gohan was weak asf fighting most enemies but all still fun

Collect the dragonballs dropping after destroying objects (rocks, houses etc)
The way i kept cheesing the ai is by gut punching them after an attack chain over and over. It's broken as hell cuz you can just keep doing it til they die.
For a more boring run though but effective especially against giant enemies or "survive till the time runs out" missions Basic Attack followed by Dash stuns enemies ESPN if you only keep it in one hit intervals. They also didn't have an anti-infinite system in this game so yeah. Really poor game design but those are computers

Me, as someone who's been asking for classic DBZ game content for ages: *is glad Tenkaichi 4 was announced just so it gave Steedoj the urge to go back to the original Tenkaichi games*

13:55 I think the thing too about Asuras Wrath and even some of the Naruto games is that you had QTEs with the cutscenes that were sometimes challenging and would tire your fingers out, some people don’t like that but it helps me become more immersed in the struggle of the fight, but I will admit if they were ever to make another Asura it would need more fleshed out base gameplay
You tried tenkaichi tag team before? That game is like tenkaiachi 3 with xenoverse like tag freedom
I saw a modder make "Tag VS" for that game, it's literally a mod that turns Tag Team into pocket BT3, with soundtrack and all. Like 90% of the BT3 roster is also modded into the game

Tenkaichi 1 was cheesy. You could loop a combo with a uncharged strong punch and trap an enemy in an infinite loop. If your character is potara boosted in speed you could do it faster. No there wasn't mid fight transformations until 2. But ones music was so good!
i remember playing tenkaichi 3 and cheesing story by just unlimited gut punches its how i beat the hardest levels

This is an old PS2 game and he's using an emulator. Kinda difficult to do that on old technology, especially when it's not even a physical copy of the actual game.

All the difficulty options do is make the AI spam surge more often and thats it.
