What sort of clickbait misinformation is this? The headline blames China, but China isn’t mentioned in the video as possibly being to blame. DW’s UA-cam editor should be disciplined for poor journalistic principles. I might even flag the video as being misleading.

Not only did a Chinese ship cut those electricity cables around 2 months ago but they have admitted it after it became clear nations affected in question had overwhelmingly technical evidences. How about using open sources to find our this is public knowledge and openly admitted by China. They though then said it were a "mistake".
This time no one will believe them. Here are what were said by a Swedish minister last night.
Swedish minister for civil defence, Carl-Oskar Brolin, regarding the recent cable cut off´s in Baltic Sea between Sweden and Lithuania: "We can conclude that defence and coastguard through their information's about the situation at sea have recorded ship movement, that in time and space, corresponds to the arisen breakages" referring to the Chinese vessel YI Peng 3´s movements.

Now how is the reporting (not much journalism there) in China, let alone Russia (great job winning that race) or North Korea working out? We have a very flawed system. It is just the best in the world at it.

@@I922sParkCir Jon Anker Nielsen, the harbor master of the island port of Christiansø (located on the namesake archipelago 18 km northeast of Bornholm), directly stated that he had been forced to remain silent for the past two years about what he had seen before the explosions:
"In the first few days, the harbor master, according to his own statement, was told 'not to say a word.' But today, Jon Anker Nielsen can openly share that four or five days before the Nord Stream explosions, he went with the rescue service to Christiansø because several unidentified ships with their transponders turned off had been spotted there, not responding to inquiries. It turned out these were American military ships. When the rescue mission approached them, they were ordered by command to turn back."
Think about it: less than a week before the explosion, the U.S. Navy was secretly operating (with transponders off) in Denmark's exclusive economic zone. And all this time, a small Danish port's harbor master knew about it, but was silenced for years. It's interesting whether Swedish, German, and Danish investigators interviewed him. Are his statements in the investigation archives? Or did they cling so tightly to the version about the Polish-Ukrainian diver, Vladimir Z., that everything not fitting into that narrative was discarded?

What boggles my mind is why the Chinese ship that "mysteriously" switched off it's position reporting equipment when it crossed these cables was not forcibly detained and a forensic investigation of it's anchors made to determine if there were any trace materials from the cables to be found on them. If found, the ship's officers and owners would be in for a world of hurt! Ships from that shipping line should be banned from European waters for at least a decade!
Frankly, ships from China passing through European waters should have to pay the expense of an escort vessel that ensures they cannot get away with this kind of sabotage.

Clearly, the cable cuts originated with a Chinese vessel. It's a simple matter of time and place. In both cases, at the time the cable traffic was disrupted, the same Chinese vessel was located in the vicinity of the affected cable. Specifically, Yi Peng 3, a Chinese-registered cargo ship, was traveling from Russia to Egypt when it passed the two cables at around the same time each was cut on Sunday and Monday, according to Marine Traffic data. Something that seems rather too coincidental. Accordingly, it's reasonable to conclude the damage is the result of a deliberate act. The Yi Peng 3 vessel as “a standard 225-metre bulk carrier” with a crew of Chinese nationals. It's worth noting that China, like Russia, uses supposed commercial vessels for espionage and other nefarious purposes. This is not the first time a Chinese vessel has been implicated in damage to European undersea infrastructure. For example, a vessel known as Newnew Polar Bear seemed very active on the night of 7 October 2023. This Chinese cargo vessel is suspected of damaging at least two underwater telecommunications cables and a natural gas pipeline in the Baltic before scurrying to the safety of Russian waters. The sabotage's boldness, along with the Newnew Polar Bear’s murky ownership, suggests the depths to which China and Russia are now engaged in coordinated efforts to undermine the West. Again, it seems fair to conclude that all the damage to undersea infrastructure in the Baltic can be laid on the Chinese-Russian doorstep.
