On UA-cam see "NOAC 2024". This was my first NOAC. It was awesome! They "sucked me in" and (before I knew it) got me hooked on patch trading. It was a great scouting experience, and a ton of fun. At the trading post, I picked-up a copy of "The Life of E. Urner Goodman, A Thing of the Spirit" and it has been an excellent read this summer.

Having never been to NOAC, Im excited that there was the recent release of NOAC 2022 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville! My question is what are the benefits/pluses and minuses of going with your contingent versus serving as a staff member? Keep up the good work and hopefully see you at NOAC 2022!

Hi brother, I often think that it's better to attend it than to staff it first. I staffed our districts/councils Introduction to Outdoor Skills many times then discovered that I had to take the course as a participant in order, to get credit for it. This may be true in the experience too. It would be an honor to staff such a wonderful event. No matter what, you're not working all the time and can enjoy a lot of the events. There's nothing like your first time at anything, so gathering up the experience that makes a good memory is important. As an example; it would be difficult to be Meteu in a Brotherhood induction ceremony as an Ordeal member. Whatever you choose it will be up to you to decide. . I don't know if I can get the time to attend NOAC 2022. That would be a nice vacation. YIB ⚜

I was finally inducted into the OA back in September, and hopefully I can join you, especially as I live on the oplosite side of the state.

The patch you have on your sash is that legal to wear cuz I have one

The 2015 Centuries of Service anniversary patch is issued to be worn above the arrow on the sash. Only brothers who had completed the requirements in 2015 and filled out the paperwork for the lodge can wear this award. This is an anniversary patch that can be worn on the outside of the sash above the arrow. This was issued in 1965 (50th), 1990 (75th), and 2015 (100th). You can sew patches on the inside of the sash which I have done with my Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil lodge flaps, and legend. Good point, not many people have noticed. Thank you for being a subscriber to our community. YIB ⚜

I am a recent member of the OA with my lodge. is it too late to apply and pay for NOAC?

I would say it’s not too late. But this is up to your contingent leader and the deadlines schedule. There may be other limitations like transportation seating and room assignments. Contacting them should be the first step. YIB⚜
