Thats fantastic Joe, I saw this months ago and was very tempted, now even more so.
You videos are getting better every time mate, very nice indeed.
As usual, just blown away! Thanks for sharing Joe! Certainly a "a must do project" as soon as health an work issues are solved.
Thumbs up from the looking glass
Of recent, there has not been a lot on UA-cam that made me have a serious belly laugh. This is terrific. I am totally going to build this. Thanks Joe for showing this off. Your enthusiasm about this is infectious.
Awesome robot !! Thanks Joe for letting us discover this.I think I will try to build it as well.
This is wicked cool great job!
Very nice video Joe. Love these projects! Thanks!
Vorpal is a totally awesome project. Built it with my son this Christmas from parts sourced from AliExpress/eBay. Some of the parts were a bit different so we had to do some small modifications, but wasnt too hard. Also the code is easy to understand and to mod. We built with a joystick as the key D-pad didnt arrive in time.
Awesome build. I'm loving the addition of microcontrollers!
thanks, trying to find as many projects as i can :)
What an awesome project. Sure kids will like it. Thank you for the share.
Whoa! That's cool! In Philadelphia, there was a robotics/3D-printing class that I attended, and Vorpal Robotics was teaching it! I got to 3D print my own attachments for the drawing-contest, and my robot got first place on one of the three trials because of the intricate design of the attachment! :D
That intro was great man!
not uncle jessy great, but i'll get there eventually :)
Excellent video my friend, really made me smile like a kid. Thank you.
that's what it it's all about :)
I have always wanted to build one of those! You're killin' me Joe!
haha, sorry buddy, just trying to up my game :)
what a tune for the weekend nice one joe and great vid
thanks buddy :)
Joe this robot is awesome that intro was so fun to watch
thank you :)
that timelapse stop motion style at the beginning is sweet
Love your videos! I had my daughter watch this and now we are going to have our first project together! She is 8 so this is going to be fun and a great learning experience for both of us.
Awesome! My daughter is about to turn 8 and these projects are the kind she absolutely loves too!
that is adorable, may we get an update? how'd it go?
Wow!!! In love with your channel!
Thank you :)
Omg! That is just soo cool!
Cool video Joe! Thanks for the detailed list.. I am out shopping$ Damn! It's Chinese New Year...
Fortunately I found almost everything locally. :) One question remains.. Is there a tutorial to flash the arduino panels with the correct code? Because if you dont get them from vorpal robotics then you have to deal with that problem on your own...
Thank you for this great video. Can you tell me how you pair the HC05 Bluetooth Modules?
Cool editing 😎 love it
Thank you :)
Great video. Going to do this with my daughter and son. Thinking of PETG for the parts. What do you think?
Look at those moves man ... so funny😂
Awesome!
That's just so cool! My lil dude uses scratch Jr so it might be time for him to level up for something like this
Theressa how old is he im 14 and im doing fine
lord dumbness my kiddo is turning 8 soon
Nice moves!
Looks delicious~!
hi, good job
you buy a kit, or you buy diferents pieces and do it?
the HC05's, you config it first,?
my vorpal, do test, do demo, but not conect with gamepad.
thanks
i probably have all of those parts on my inverntoy, well servos have been coming for a month now and, well only thing im missing is that 12 port pwm driver, but i got few 2003 that i could use instead. but what i dont have, is time!! :/
Very nice project , seen this in the previous year ,but definitely building it this year .
Thanks for the links to order the materials , the only thing i cant seem to find are the ceramic magnets. If anyone has a link to those please share.
Cool video Joe if i buy parts from banggood pls can some one tell me how i program the Arduino Nano thanks
Looks cute
Just found your channel bro. Its awesome! i have been 3d printing forever and just got an ulimaker 3 extended and im printing in PC and copolyester and TPU. do you even print in pla or abs anymore? can you give me some wisdom on when to use with material and why? thanks man! cheers!
I usually print in PLA for prototyping and fancy stuff, ABS for customer prints usually when requested more if I am printing something functional that needs to withstand high heat. Alternatively PETG for functional part. Nylon and ASA for stuff that will see outside elements :)
Zooo nice made i go to make him myself
How do I get the electronics for this?
Thank you,
Kevin W. Ray
Very cool
Do you have a specific link to buy the battery? Thanks
great video Joe, Jerry looks awesome, if you had some ninja flex maybe making some boots or sneakers for him he might get better traction on hard surfaces?. If you had to sum up the time spent making his parts and putting him together how long would have taken? love the content.
Hehe I actually taught of the boots, will have to design something :) the parts took about 2 - 3 days on total to print at 150 microns and about 2 hours to put the whole thing together
I have one of these little fellas myself :D
Great video again :) I watched your video on the Rubik’s cube solving robot and then had to build one, I have watched this video and now have to build one of these, you are costing me a small fortune!! One question if I may, are you using protected 18650 batteries?
First of all, sorry not sorry hehe 😜 as for the batteries, no they are not, however the battery holder I listed is protected itself :)
3D Maker Noob lol keep the projects coming, these electronics and 3d printing combined ones are the best and you present them in a way which makes it hard for me to ignore! Am I right in saying if I buy the kit from the store then the battery holder is not protected tho? So your set up has neither protected? Like you I have many batteries from vape mods but just trying to get an idea what I need.
That is correct, if you buy the kit I’d suggest getting protected batteries for it just in case :)
Which magnets do you need?
I cant !!!!!! wow
can you give the link for your custom 3d printed parts????
Thank you
Awesome video! JGAurora A5S review coming soon?
Soonish :)
太赞了!
The switch size is bigger than the holes in the model on Thingiverse .. anyone have an updated model for the base that fits the switch in the link here?
Did u use pla or abs filament
Now I know how you managed to write such long Patreon posts in the last weeks. You printed yourself a secretary ;)
No one was supposed to know ;)
Are the robots movements realtime?
Can you use C / C++ to program that?
Bummer parts links don't seem to be working.
hi , the codes dont work on arduino can you help me ??
you also need a 9v snap plug for the controller
Thank you very much! completely missed all those and have now updated all links. thanks once again!
Planning on building this, but what batteries did you use for it?
18650 for the main unit and a 9v battery for the remote
Which 3D printer is that you have in the background of the video on the top right of the screen?
It’s a folgertech FT-5 :)
It's soooo cute❤❤😍😍😝😂
This is really an awesome project. I am sort of obsessing on the idea of this. I would love to know how they created the remote. Since I am JUST starting to get to know a bit about Arduino I dont quite get the connection. Can you point to where I can see how the target is controlled by the remote? I know it is connected via Bluetooth. Where is the API/ library covering the connection? I would love just a hello world on this connection. AMAZING proj! I would love for this to be a learning project for me to do on my own.
www.deviceplus.com/arduino/arduino-hexapod-part-3-remote-control/
Found this page which might have the info I am looking for.
Ok. Doing research on how HC-05 and HC-06 work. (Maybe can be replaced by ESP8266?)... starting to see how the controls work. Bluetooth connection acts just like a USB Cable connection. Arduino can not tell the difference. Ok, I might just be able to do this. (Any little hints though would be greatly appreciated!). I am definitely having trouble finding info on building the hard remote part of this. So... hardware pointers would be sweeeeet! Anyway thanks for the vid! You pointed me into some cool spaces!
Good name
did you use arduino?
How to make hexapod's 3d printed parts in tinkercad
Will you make a review of the jgaurora?
Yes I will :)
I would be interested in if the robot could handle stairs up and down (automatically)
Since it’s arduino you could probably program it to do so, I for one have no idea where to start lol
Where can we get the stl files, they weren't available from url link. Thank you.
By the way the kit sells for $154. I thought it was $50.
Why not PETG?
I'm doing this robot. can i wear sg90
What would happen if i 3d printed this, but 18 feet tall? Is that legal? Can anyone answer me? I want to print this, but REALLY big.
How much to make
Thanks for informing us that scratch gift by MIT just like Mit app I2.
But it would be better if we can programme to arduino Permanently using S4A scratch . Because S4A need usb serial connection for working instead stand alone ini scratch code !!!!
Is his name Luccas?
link to the stl pz
What is the resistance of the Potentiometer?
10K Ohm, just updated the description :)
Cool project. Just a comment on buying parts:
I bought small plastic servos multiple times online and from reputable sources and I must say the servos I normally buy on ebay, banggood, etc... are very inconsistent. Bare in mind I am only talking about the smaller plastic ones. I got some that worked very well and others in which the driver burned down just from powering it on once, some in which the gears where defective and rattled their way to oblivion and some that simply did not work. The most common problem is that, with the same control setup, they were off by, sometime, 30º from what it is was expected. Even when buying from the same seller, they get different batches and one time you get perfectly good parts and the next one they are all garbage.
I am not in anyway telling you not to buy parts from ebay, I myself continue to do it and it is much more cost effective than other sources. I am just saying that servos specifically I prefer to just get them from reputable sources because, even though they are more expensive, they normally have better quality control. And since I do this as a hobby and my focus is to have fun doing it, I prefer not to waste my time having issues that can be avoided.
Of course, to each is own and some people might not have the money for that but I just wanted to share my experience for the ones that are weighting both options.
In this particular case I do believe, if you have the means, you should buy it from the guys that took the time to make something cool and opened it to everyone :)
To be fair, with the servos, vorpal in fact send you an extra one just in case. one of the ones i had in the kit also didn't work. i supported the guys because i believed they deserve it. it;s a great project and a great initiative and i fully support it.
That is even more awesome of their part. One more reason to support them :)

Yay no dislikes
Yep, it scares me lol
please give me the diagram ?
Total cost of making this app.
Hi...3d maker Noob Is there any link to find source code?
I've now added the link to the video description, thanks for reminding me :)
3D Maker Noob ...thanks a lot!!! ...i am definitely gonna try this...please make more project vedios like this...
a video for editing does not exist?
Maybe put some rubber tips on the feet
very funny
My first thought is upscale x 8 and put guns on the legs. I'm a bad person :(
Is it real the fastest "new life" addition can be working doing this(ez job) and learning of it(subject-buy)? Then who reads this if not true? After 12am time-killing + different feel in life.
Hilarious
FYI If you buy the HC-5 Bluetooths adapters on your own, you will have to program them as slave and master. The two they send are preprogrammed. Watch ua-cam.com/video/BXXAcFOTnBo/v-deo.html for instructions on how to program them.
I bet that would freak my dogs out.
He needs little rubber shoes! :P
Sense you 3D printed your own parts I bet you could reprint them and make it look like a war robot with a little creativity.
+
Eighteen-Six-Fifty :)
Lol ironically I should really know as I have a ton of them to use on my vape boxes hehe
Wait.. arent you the 3d maker noob.. with a pair of glasses..
Hanzhen harmonic drive gear , robot arm gear , over 30 years experience ,
really... a dab in 2018?
Its called a 69696969 battery
Eu vi um anúncio horrível!
1st! :D
Que mal diseño
very, very, very bad head design but nice job with the rest.
Why? Whhhhhyyyyyy? This shitty music on interesting videos? Whhhhhhyyyyyyyy?
