    The album goes through phases: intuition, denial, anger, apathy, emptiness, responsibility, reform, forgiveness, resurrection, hope and redemption. This is much more explained in the film that she released along with the album on HBO.

    Beyonce is very underrated & this is a great body of work. Genre-bending but cohesive as threaded by the storyline.

    I find some of his reaction a bit off putting and unusual but somehow I liked his video coz at least he's being honest although it kind of gives his lack of knowledge and background on some production choices and why the song was done in that type of way. "Sounds strange" in Daddy Lessons, girl, country came from black people and the instrumentation is what country is and not these yts you all listen to. Lol. 💀
    I enjoyed the video since it's cute and new to most of the reactions I've seen
    Add more history and knowledge on music and your reactions will be even better.

    i think it’s fundamental to listen to this album expecting to understand her vision of the cheating as a black woman.
    the tracks tells u a history: suspicion, anger, self empowerment, then fragility/ vulnerability which leads to the possibility of forgiveness and finally, reconciliation.

    Great album. A few songs like 6 Inch don’t really stick with me that much but otherwise it’s great. About her relationship: Jay-Z had started seeing other women in secret, and she made this album after finding out. She chronicles her anger, acceptance, and newfound understandings throughout the album.

    daddy’s lesson perpetuates the narrative of the cheating… her dad was unfaithful to her mom, so in the lyrics when she says that her dad says “when men like me come to town, shoot”, cause she’s aware of the infidelity of her father and fears that the same thing happens to her.

    I'm curious of what music you listen to and artist. Coz "disappointing production" reaction in a Beyoncé album must mean you listen to top tier artists who can sing, write, produce and direct better than her. And all other technical stuff.
    Please drop them. Would love to listen to them.

  • @brentecksdee

    You should listen to EVERYTHING IS LOVE by THE CARTERS (the carters being Beyoncé and Jay-Z), a must listen album right after Lemonade. It gets really personal and honest as it's about their relationship, family, friends, black power, and just overall being successful.

    • @manuelmora26
      @manuelmora26 Рік тому

      @@ofclshn You clearly missed the point. Obviously lemonade doesn’t sound like a madonna or Janet album because its by Beyoncé…what I’m saying is albums like ROL & TVR influenced pop artists that came later on to push boundaries in different forms. The Influence can be lyrical,vocally,production choices etc. Beyoncé has openly stated madonna and Janet have done a-lot for pop music. Just because lemonade or Beyoncés sound doesn’t sound like a product by Janet or madonna doesn’t mean it wasn’t influenced by them.

    The word “slay” may be a temporary term for you as a, I’m assuming, straight man, but for gay and black people it’s actually slang that is rooted in our history and culture. We very much still use it, all the time actually. Not trying to hate btw just saying, it’s VERY much still used today, even by a lot of straight people lol
