  • Twisted seat belts. The behind-the-back maneuver. Friction from the shoulder belt in the neck area.
    What are some of the most common mistakes kids make when snapping themselves in to a booster seat?
    Although kids of booster age are typically ready to understand and follow the instructions, parents need to be vigilant and firm about the proper use of booster seats, says Injury Prevention Coordinator Tracey Fejt, RN, of Cardon Children's Medical Center.
    Watch as Tracey, along with the Turchick boys -- Max, 6, Sam, 5, and Tyler, 4 --demonstrate the details of safe booster use.

      Yeah, even older than that honestly. I'd say around 12 is when most kids are. Sadly a lot of parents not only allow kids out if booster seats around or below the age of 10-11 but they also let them sit in the front seat. It's just super risky and dangerous and more parents need to be making the safe decision and keep their 10-11 year olds in the back in booster seats

    • @andygeer3057
      @andygeer3057 2 роки тому

      Apparently the black strap with the red buckle is used to help position the seat belt properly near the shoulder of the child, keeping it away from their neck.
      Raise the strap vertically to its full length and thread the seat belt through the red buckle. Ensure the strap is laying against the back of the seat - do not allow it to be in front of the child.
      This should now keep the seat belt off the neck of the child.

      The age is 8-12. I know the law doesn’t apply to adults who are short because adults who are short still have fully developed bones and can still take the impact better then a child. I wonder about teens.

    • @Awaken12578

    I know they always say use a high back booster if the kid can't stay up or falls asleep, but I'm an adult I fall asleep and can't stay upright. It's bad because the seatbelts also cut into my neck sometimes so I put it behind me

    $13 booster? lol...is she talking about those inflatable ones, that are not safe? Because I have not seen a $13 booster. $20 is the lowest price. And I love how they show these skinny kids every time. What if it is a larger kid....and the legs push into the armrests and the belt is stuck there.....I wish there was variety in kid size, in such videos, and we were told if it is still safe how it fits them and if not, what to use instead....

      @luvblueybingoheeler3150 3 роки тому

      I don’t understand how is it brainwashed. Saying brainwash doesn’t make it so. Kids do need booster seats. Short adults don’t because they’re bones are fully developed and can handle impact better then children. They said around 4’9 or 8-12, so I’m guessing even short teens don’t need one. I could be wrong. And please don’t give me “I done that as a kid and I’m fine”. It is not an excuse. What if you wasn’t? Booster seats (the right ones) keep kids safe.
