- Today we fly our new Cessna 210 turbo up north in the mountains to try to buy 2 cheap airplanes that haven't flown in 10+ years! Will they start up and fly for the first time? Turns ou tJason and Joe from Rebuild Rescue beat us to the deals. They allowed us to come along and try to get these old Piper Commaches running and flying once again!

So much fun seeing you guys and having some airplane fun 👍🏼
Nice rescue! Can’t wait to do it again!
It was great to meet you guys and hang out for the afternoon, glad you had a spare airplane and made it up! Sorry I didn't think to offer the Comanches to you guys but hey we still have a 1949 Piper Clipper and a 1952 Piper Pacer if you guys decide to have a go with a tail dragger let me know! 😉
Is a two month delay between shooting videos and posting them normal? This was on August 1st, & today is Sep 29th! Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the content!
Great to see @Jason and the @REBUILDRESCUE crew on the video 📹.
How on earth do you not have your PPL? You have the money. You have the places. I don’t get it.
Money ✅
Planes ✅
Time ❌
@@JRAviation I obviously don’t know your schedule or anything, but I will say that if there was, potentially, a “getting my ppl” video series, folks would probably love it.
what a collab :) thanks for the entertainment guys
Glad you enjoyed it!
You guys need to get you PPL!
Where I live on Long Island there’s an airport called Republic Airport and there are abandoned planes that have been sitting for years never flown but the owners are still paying to keep them parked maybe you guys and rebuild rescue wanna head over to Republic Airport and take a look for yourselves there’s also a WW2 the American AirPower Museum which is located at the airport want to restore this plane but they need someone to put the wings on which no one has done for years so it’s been sitting with tarp all over it in that abandoned section with the abandoned planes for years
Great airport with a lot of good history as well!!
Just out of curiosity do you not have your PPL yet? Notice you always fly with a CFI and was wondering if that’s just for safety or lack of certification on your part yet. Great channel though definitely enjoy watching the aircraft purchase adventures, keep em coming!
He doesn’t (I do) and learning the way he does isn’t going to do him any favours
@@sprint955stthat or he can’t get a medical is my other guess
@@curtisclements9956 yep there is that possibility but if it was me and my channel - I get it, it’s not - I’d explain this is not the way forward for aspiring ppl’s
Piper Comanche production stopped after the big flood in Lock Haven, PA in 1972. The tooling and the factory was damaged beyond repair. Comanches were also quite expensive to manufacture. Piper decided to close the Lock Haven factory. They moved to Vero Beach, FL. to build more economical airplanes. Neither the PA-24 nor the PA-30 Twin Comanche were never built again. IMO, they were the best piston engine airplanes Piper ever built.
Too bad, imagine that flood never happened!
quit making videos for a month and get your PPL...flying as you are doing isn't making it easier down the road
Too hot to fly in PHX in the summer. Many planes just can't make the power to fly when the heat makes the density altitude too high. That, and if you don't have A/C, ground ops - sitting baking in the 115° heat 🥵 with almost no ventilation... Hard pass! My instructor refuses to fly when it gets above 85° (the wimp 😉 )
I'm still waiting for JR to deliver my '$10,000 Cherokee'...
As if getting that license is all they have to do. How many pilots licenses do you own ?
@XX-166 like anyone else just one..but with sel, multi, instrument and glider endorsements...the initial SEL took 6 weeks...the rest within a year
@@mattf49006 good for you.. enjoy your life attempts and respect others pace.
@miloswanson9646 my initial sel training was in a 172 in July in Los Angeles..took six weeks and there were quite a few times flying started before 8am to beat the heat...PHX is only 1000ish feet MSL ..I'm fairly sure that Cirrus can handle two skinny pilots with a cpl hrs of fuel on a hot day
can you talk with out useing the WORD LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!V every 2nd word
Hey - full elevator deflection on run-up - does that help with braking??? Been flying for 30 years and never heard of this. Would really like an answer.
You guys seem to have a better eye for the realistic restorations. I gave up on rebuild rescue given how long they were taking / IMHO some of those planes should have been tossed to the parts bin.
You keep buying planes but we dont ever see any other plane content. No updates no nada
Very tired of rebuild rescue also, but enjoy your channel
Glad to see you getting more hands on experience you should be getting close for a check ride !! Keep up the good work
Nowhere close to a check ride. Probably plenty of hours but most are cross country. They're too busy buying and selling to do enough pattern work and maneuvers. They'll have 200 hours by the time they get licensed. And that's cool. We all have our own priorities.
Looks like a black widow to me.
Bound to happen.
Correct, Comanche production ceased due to the 1972 tropical storm Agnes flood. 12 feet deep in the hangar I was working in at the time. Also, building it was more labor intensive than the Arrow. (At 18:32) The Right engine on the PA-39 is the LIO-320 the L being the designator for left turning, or counter rotating, the Left engine is the IO-320, which would be found on both sides of a PA-30, non Counter Rotating. Rotation directions are as viewed from the back of the engine looking forward. Clockwise on a standard IO-320 and Counter Clockwise on LIO-320.
Piper also experimented with an upgraded version of the PA-39 and built 3 designated PA-40 Arapaho
BTW, I knew the test pilot who bailed out of a PA-40 during a test flight. He got it into a flat spin and said (I moved everything that moved and nothing worked.) Later an engineer who was into RC flying built a replica of the PA-40 to test a theory. A pair of strakes were then added to the aft fuselage, on each side above the bend where the bottom of the aft fuselage starts. They stuck out about three inches. Another pilot I knew flew that and said it was a sweet handling plane. One more thing, if you look at the gap between the rudder and fin on a PA-39, there might be an aftermarket seal in there that helps in engine out situations.
Where is the early 210? Can we get some strutted centurion love please?
Also a shallower climb 90kts should really help with those temps.
Like his channel.. but they have 16 shorts in the span of 4 days... There just flooding things to get views.
Hey, were is the Malibu you guys own. That's a traveling machine.
Hopefully you doing a video with rebuild rescue will hurry him along.
Your instructor might have too much tail dragger time. On nose heavy Cessnas you should unload the nose wheel on taxi and start of the take off roll. Just saves wear and tear on the oleo strut.
Hello jr I am flight training on KFFZ, hope to hear you on the radio someday
PS selfies suck. Too close for too long. Try a tripod or get a camera person.
I won't rag on you for density altitude, I just like your videos and here we are!
Great adventure boys! Thanks for sharing the day! Stay safe out there!
You were born to be a flight engineer, not a pilot, I think
Did you see the planes for sale on Heavy D’s recent video?
What an awseome video. I love this stuff
Tired of rebuild rescue.
Tired of him beating us to these good deals! 😂
@@JRAviation 😂
Love both the channels. Wish I was apart

Another fun video. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
If you’re looking for cheap jets, maybe see if P Diddy wants to sell some of his?
Haha good idea!
Haha, feds will seize those if they haven't already.
Might need a detail with a Hazmat suit 😂
great video bro
Glad you enjoyed
Sell me the 210
We might just sell it! Email jrgarage22@gmail.com
Actually, dust storm is the proper name for a dust storm. Haboob is an imported word from people that moved here from somewhere else.
You mean the Europeans who moved in and displaced the Native people, and all the imported words they use? Lmfao!!
In our language dust is habok.
15:08 Arizona has a coast now? Really Jason? lol
Yessir, ocean front property!
@@JRAviation Touché, well played, sir.
What is a "bogey on traffic"? Never heard this in my years of flying
Mogollon traffic! Name of the airport haha
Bogey
A radar or visual air contact whose identity is unknown
I thought I heard that too. Second time I figured out it was the airport name but still didn't understand what it was.
This dude still be clowning
😂 😂
comon get your PPL or somethin i know its not fun reading those books but comon what a waste of you buying planes you can't even fly yourself
Your channel just lost its accoutablility buy have rebuild rescue on it. The guy and his channel is a joke and should not be involved in aviation..............
Top 5 aviation channels for sure!
Thank you!!!
I’d always feel safe with Jeffery on the engines. That guy watches the gauges like a hawk!
I do like engine management!
