The Crochet Into The Light Afghan by Jeanne Steinhilber was a much-needed stitching journey. Filled with light bouncing textures.
Jeanne found herself trying to cope with emotions during this unprompted crochet design. It was never intended for the book but when she showed us behind the scenes, we were gob-smacked by the intentional shadows that it gives off.
As Jeanne designed and hooked herself through this afghan, a lot of time of thinking was placed into this blanket. It’s a blanket she personally cherishes. This blanket was sent back to Jeanne to gift to a friend who helped her claw her way out of the dark and back into the light.

This tutorial is awesome. I just finished part 1 with rounds 1-12. It’s been years since I have crocheted but the picture of this afghan is so beautiful I couldn’t resist it; especially since I didn’t have to try and read the instructions. My eyes aren’t what they use to be. I hope it won’t be long before we get the next installment of instructions.
I had hand and wrist bone graft surgery in early November and the therapist asked what would help me attempt to crochet again. I think I found my reason to pick up my hook and yarn again. I have the book and will do a dive into my yarns to come up with color inspiration. Thank you Mikey..

I began to chrochet 5years ago cause i have many Problems with hands and shoulders, rheumatism. And IT works. IT hold me flexible. The vids from Mikey helps and inspiered me a lot. Thanks so much❤

Thanks Mikey for this video I have been crocheting for over 40 years and have been scared of the Bavarian stitch, I want to make a blanket for the local fall fair competition. Hi I’m a bit confused Round 9 we did 3 double crochet, chain 3, sc back into the same stitch.
Round 10 you said it was backwards so should it be sc, chain 3, 3 double crochet? Whereas the video slip stitches instead of single crochet please help?

Is anyone else having trouble with round 2 my petals sre cupping. Cannot tell on the video if that is start of the process and it will flatten out. Love the intricacies of these stitches. Thanks for your help
It will stay slightly lifted but never flattens down to the surface. It's not meant to.

It's just a generic hook I picked up at Amazon Canada.
