  • The idea of getting out of bounds in Deep Descent seemed like a pipe dream to Nightfire speedrunners, but yesterday, the community celebrated when a new way to break this level was discovered. Overall, it saves around 50 seconds, and is perfectly viable for full-game runs, unlike the previous version of the glitch.

    I was unaware of Nightfire speedrunning and this channel. Both criminally underrated.

    WOW that is insane. It's been a while since I've kept up to date on Nightfire or any speedrunning stuff in general, but I just love seeing new simple yet game changing discoveries like this. Nice video man!

    This is so dang sick! Love when stuff that skips the slowest, most tedious parts of levels in any run are found! Good video btw!
    Also a casual player found Hinox Warping in Link's Awakening 2019, to give you an example. The community made it consistent, but that glitch was initially posted on /r/speedrun randomly a couple months after the game came out lol

    Definitely your best video to date, excited to see more of this quality and energy from you. The Metal Gear Solid door clip found by a casual streamer was similar to this find.

      Thanks! Your videos are a big inspiration for me. I want to do for Nightfire what you've done for Agent Under Fire.

    Most major glitches are found by casuals. Anothet example i can give you is few years ago there was streamer playing Metal Gear Solid 1, theres one section of game where you have to exit the building which takes around 3mins. What happened was that she was trapped near a door cuz there were loads of enemies, when she got shot, it pushed her into the door then loaded her outside of the building. That strat saved 3mins

    Callmeliam and Verif: We found a new OoB!!! It's very precise though.
    Casual Player, ZupaTr00pa: Hey, you looking for something like this?
    Anyways? This means a new Nightfire TAS?

    • @FitterSpace
      @FitterSpace  5 місяців тому +4

      One day, definitely. I considered making one when the old OoB was found, but I didn’t end up doing it. As far as TAS goes, I need to finish the GoldenEye Wii TAS, then I want to update the Agent Under Fire TAS. Nightfire may be after that.

    yeah, i found fence skip in singularity, saves about 30 seconds, no one else was using it, and im looking into other out of bounds possible in vanilla, i was always a bit scared of doing full runs cause i cant pull off the biggest skip

    It's insane how newcomers just find stuff like this.
    In Luigi's Mansion, my friend who doesn't even run the game accidentally stumbled upon a strat, which would be used to one cycle the first boss in the game, Chauncey. That night was insane. Easy 33 seconds saved.

    Even if you do the out of bounds trick what about the stuff you have to do in bounds such as the disarming nukes battling the boss submarine can you just skip all this and simply drive right to the end and it counts?

    • @FitterSpace
      @FitterSpace  Місяць тому

      The only objective that's technically required is the one at the very end where you have to place the mines on the submarines, right before the boss fight. Everything else is just there to get you to that point.
