One of my all time personal favorites from Tool is called "Right in Two" and you can not listen to it without the video, there's about 100 different meanings and messages behind that song that involves the B.S. that is today's society and the way things are going, and probably headed. Story short, it starts out with a guy, makes his own world (He's God) Adam and Eve start time evolves on into what is "now" then shows the messed up future where were headed if all of the super power countries. But in the end it's deeper meaning of the video is we are all our own "god" we make our own world and depending on what we do with and to it is our own choice on how it will turn out....just watch it brother interpret it how u want cuz it can be 100 different ways but everyone can relate to the message. everything started with war and ends with war, why's it gotta be that way? peace and love my brother man 🤘❤🤘
@@ulventorden5293 @Ulven Torden Idk how heavy you like your metal/rock but if you haven't heard of them check out this Indian folk metal band called Bloodywood- Jee Veere, fantastic song about overcoming depression and any prob you'll face in life. 🤘🤘 also if you're into some really hardcore metal look up "Slaughter to Prevail-Baba Yaga" they're Russian and Baba Yaga means Boogeyman in European folklore but the video basically everything to deal with Russia in it, it's such a bad ass video 🤘😂🤘 I bought one of their masks off of their web sight. If you do watch it just know this fact that that is actually the man's actual voice. Also watch some of the reaction videos to that band it's funny watching people completely freak out 🤘😂🤘
I am not a Tool fan. I've seen them live twice. Listened to their albums quite a bit. That's because most of my closest friends are Tool fans. However, I can name no drummers alive today that are his better. Not one. These guys are artists. The real deal. What they do is incredibly complicated and requires incredible talent, skill, and concentration. I recognize and salute these facts even though their music is not my thing.
I've been a Tool fan since their first album dropped and the song that I have grown to absolutely love is Reflection. This song will take you to a whole other world!

Mike Portnoy is another world-class drummer that is far less well known. Mike Portnoy along with guitarist John Petrucci started the band Drean Theater in the 80's that took two of their favorite genres, prog-rock (like Rush) and metal and turned created progressive metal. Dream Theater created prog metal and Mike Portnoy is the backbone to this genre.
You *need* to watch their live version of “Sober” performed in 1993. Then 46&2 and *then* watch “kids cover 46&2” That’s your mission if you choose to accept it🙃❤️👍
Great reaction, that right there is why Tool plays to packed arenas all over the world. Some of my favs r Jambi, Sweat, Intolerance, 3rd eye, Pushit, Ticks and Leaches.
I can watch it over and over again… and still can’t believe what I am witnessing! It’s ridiculous what he is doing on his drums. No words needed for this genius
I'm pretty sure someone out there will correct me if I'm wrong: This video was filmed for a "Drum Clinic" that Danny was involved with. Danny always gets a pro jersey of the city Tool is playing in and wears it for the concert. Not sure if he was offered a basketball scholarship but he wanted to play music instead.

I don't like calling musicians "greatest" for this reason. There are super technical drummers like Matt Garstka and Larnell Lewis who wouldn't find Tool's music to be challenging to their skill sets, but they wouldn't be writing drum parts for Tool songs that sounded like Danny Carey, either.

Danny has entered the top tier of drummers but each builds on another. Danny loved The Professor Neil Peirt so check out his most recent drum solo or any of them. Jon Bonham solo is called Molby Dick check that out live early version. Then real drummers can tell ya the big band drummers who influenced the above mentioned.
yes!! tool is awesome! I know I mentioned A Perfect Circle with the first one, The Pot, but going down this rabbit hole is definitely needed! so many amazing albums by them!! Sober, 46x2 , the list goes on...Try Eulogy when you have a chance!! it's a nod to the late great Bill Hicks..
His rhythm, timing, and his style are unmatched. There’s a lot of great drummers, and Danny is two of them in one. Just like with Eddie VanHalen, and his guitar, you can hear their soul and their voice coming through their instruments. He could play anything on any instrument, and you’d know it’s him playing it. Truly remarkable musician
Tool gets better with age.. I first heard them when I was 13, I'm almost 40 now. There are so many layers in it, a lifetime is not long enough to truely understand their musical talent. I personally wanna get fat and old, and listen to their music when I'm 90, blasting the walls of my house with loudness!
The best part is that you said, "this is one of the best solos I've ever watched"....It was'nt a solo....it's just part of a song....THAT is even more astounding!
Got to remember, With all instruments from all groups, they created this. Whatever group, however simple or complex in hearing the finished product, it took time to create. This is no different. People who say any song by any group is "simple," remember that the song was created, and those who play it who say it is "simple," the [person or persons created it whole-cloth. It's easy to "copy" a song, to cover it, but to create it from nothing that is perfect for whatever song.... it really is a talent. Even if the song is not liked by the listener. This is a great song. PERIOD!!!
When you see them live, Maynard (singer) stands in the dark behind and to the side of Danny. You rarely catch a glimpse of him except in the shadows, while the three instrumentalists are spotlighted. It's a show not to be missed.
Love watching 1st reactions on Tool. The songs never get old and are timeless. The appreciation I have for this band is just crazy. I could listen to tool and nothing else and be completely satisfied for life. Try Sober, Jambi, the grudge or Eulogy. Really though, throw a dart and let it land on any song, all are masterpieces. Whatever you do, don't quit now. Keep it coming
His technique is damn near Flawless watch his elbow level as he's playing his elbows barely move there in that same spot in the frame almost the entire song. There is zero wasted movement every movement he makes has a purpose it's insane. Which I guess is even more important when drummer up his side seduce like 6'5
So many incredible songs to listen to by them, Lateralus, descending, 46n2, aenema, the grudge, Jambi , wings for Marie parts 1&2- listen to these together. Just to name a few lol
The Mount Rushmore of Drummers you have John Bonham, Neil Peart, Keith Moon, and now after the Fear Innoculum album the GOAT Danny Carey. They are all good but this dude is from another planet. I know there are Ginger Baker fans out there who feel he is probably better than maybe Keith Moon? But John, Neil, and Danny are the best hands down.
Watching someone fall in love with Tool is genuinely one of my favorite things on UA-cam. It should come as no surprise after watching this why they call Danny Carey “The Octopus”
Honestly, you can react to any song from them. They’re all great lol. Stick to audios though. Their music videos can be a little distracting from the actual music.
Danny Carey lives in Malibu and is a die hard Lakers fan. I ran into him at the Pavillions on PCH with his daughters shopping and he was wearing his Lakers uni with Kobe Bryant’s #24 jersey. The reason you will see him in concerts wearing other teams unis like the Celtics in this video is because he wears the city they are playing in their most popular or legendary players uni. I’ve seen him in a Dr. J uni in Phili.
This song is extra special for me and I'm sure a lot of the other diehard Tool fans. It had been 13 years since their last album and then they drop Pnuema and eventually the Fear Innoculom album(which in my opinion is their magnum opus)

Tool Army here, (The Grudge) this song showcase Maynards vocal abilities, and (46 & 2) my personal favourite. Please stick with lyric videos, the music videos are distracting and some of them a little disturbing, and it is hard to find a good quality live version since Tool doesn't allow any filming during their concerts. Enjoy the ride..... You should also check out another amazing Rock group called Soundgarden, the lead singer was Chris Cornell he had one of the most powerful voices in Rock music, sadly he passed away in 2017, but he left behind some musical gems like (My Wave) and (Fell on Black Days) you won't be disappointed...... RIP Chris it breaks my heart you're gone...
Another band you might like to check out is Porcupine Tree. They have another great drummer, Gavin Harrison. Here's a link of Gavin playing the middle part of PT's song "Anesthetize" live at some drum clinic or such: ua-cam.com/video/6suv3mraIhw/v-deo.html
one rather long song in a full live concert it is amazing to me that he can keep this energy up the whole time. I can't imagine how tired my arms would be
Just wanted to drop a few band and song suggestions. 1. Mastodon- blood and thunder , 2 .Type O Negative- black no. 1, 3. Jane's Addiction- ocean size, 4. Deftones- passenger (also has singer of Tool singing as well. ❤
Danny Carey is AMAZING! If you like this, You will Love Lateralus. IMO he shines during that entire Album and, it is best heard on headphones for sure. Peace...
Absolutely love this reaction video. Thos song beckons us to step out if this flesh, to let our spirits wander. To realize we are all of one flesh, one breath, one word. We are will and wonder. Let this one be what unties us All as a people. Let us overcome these petty nonsensities of life and grow as one. And Danny...he truely is a divinely humble spirit, donating his downtime to jam out with youth bands who cover Tool songs (check out the video of Danny and Kt Ruth Harms), theres also a video of him playing with the marching band at a Kansas City game.
Now that you know Danny other drumming is going to seem cheap and lame. By far one of the best reaction videos I've seen to this, and there are many. Please pull up the lyrics for your next one they are very important. A few suggestions in no particular order are 1.AEnema 2.Jambi 3.46&2 4.Parabola parabol
It's true. I find most other non tool music to be childish and simplistic. Most pop music is garbage and the old classics are great but.... TOOL...... just.... wow..... wow.
If you're looking for more Tool to listen to, I haven't seen anyone mention "Parabol/Parabola" off the Lateralus album. They're listed as two tracks, but Parabol is basically the intro to Parabola and you'll want to listen to them back-to-back. Just don't be driving when Parabol turns to Parabola or you'll crash or something :)

The octopus. Danny carry. There's a reason people call him that. Focusing on 4 different drum pattern, rotating 8 different sequences. Mind blowing.

You DIDN'T interrupt much... You did REALLY good... BEST COVER OF TOOL I'VE SEEN SO FAR... GREAT cover of tool sir.... Imma fan now
Just go through their discography. Might as well. The whole thing is pure gold
Ticks and Leaches is one of my favorite harder songs they do. Its amazing
one rather long song in a full live concert it is amazing to me that he can keep this energy up the whole time. I can't imagine how tired my arms would be
No big analysis. Just enjoying the song. It’s great
Just wanted to drop a few band and song suggestions.
Peace...
Silverchair - "Tomorrow" , this is the one song that started a lifetime of love for grunge music

Love your reaction, its a great feeling realising theres so much more good music out there
most pause on the first little drum solo not knowing the brain blast for the next 12 minutes
cheers to a new tool fan ! welcome friend
Please do a Dave Mathews Band reaction!!?
Carter Beauford is an amazing drummer
Try Led Zeppelin "Moby Dick" if you want some drums.
Oh, how I do love watching peoples’ minds explode watching The Octopus in action for the first time😌🙏
I think about what good shape he must be in and the physical and mental endurance of it all. I mean, look at his arms!
I love anything Tool. It’s so vast in instrumental. Just close your eyes and escape
Welcome to the pleasure dome... His posture and confidence always kills me
Now that you know Danny other drumming is going to seem cheap and lame. By far one of the best reaction videos I've seen to this, and there are many. Please pull up the lyrics for your next one they are very important.
A few suggestions in no particular order are
1.AEnema
2.Jambi
3.46&2
4.Parabola parabol
It's true. I find most other non tool music to be childish and simplistic. Most pop music is garbage and the old classics are great but.... TOOL...... just.... wow..... wow.
Tool the grudge
If you're looking for more Tool to listen to, I haven't seen anyone mention "Parabol/Parabola" off the Lateralus album. They're listed as two tracks, but Parabol is basically the intro to Parabola and you'll want to listen to them back-to-back. Just don't be driving when Parabol turns to Parabola or you'll crash or something :)
I listen to Tool while I drive, I yell, "Damn Danny!," regularly.
I totally dig the hit-hat being put straight ahead of the snare. That's a really neat placement on it that I've never seen personally.
