OH LORD... PLEASE LET THIS BE A TOP COMMENT. The two retainers on the inside of the console that hold the "4-Gen Flap" If we'll call it that do not need pried out with a screwdriver. They have 3 90 degree retainers on them. 1) Slide the mobile center console all the way BACK. 2) grasp them and pull them rather firmly forward, toward the front of the truck. Boom. 3 clips release and snap right out. So if you ever want to put them back in, they'll snap back in 2 seconds. Good luck everyone!
Thank you for the suggestion! I actually pushed the sliding tray to the front. Then used a rubber mallet and gave each of the tabs a tap from the back, knocking them towards the front of the truck. They popped right off easily! Thanks again!
Justin Peters is 100% correct! Just installed the Locker Down extreme console safe in my 5th Gen 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn Lone Star. It takes a little bit of mussel but you can remove the clips by forcing them toward the front of the truck and they pop right out. No damage and they can be reinstalled if you decide to remove the safe and put things back to stock. Glad the posted was pin!!! Thanks Justin!
I left the rubber pad in and drilled right threw them. (Want to make sure the metal safe and plastic console didn’t make any type of rattling) I went and replaced the self tapping screws with the same size self tapping screws with a hex head.
Fits like a glove in my 2019 Ram Bighorn - exactly what I was looking for - quality is outstanding and delivered on time as promised - highly recommend this console safe - and best of all its made in the USA!! If you are thinking about it - just do it - you will be very happy you did!!
Nice video. It is not necessary to remove the tabs. I was able to simply tip the front of the unit under the tabs. Also I cut the back portion of the rubber liner to put into the safe as well as the front portion - really easy to do, and keeps my gun from sliding around.

Just installed it in a 2019 Ram Rebel Quad Cab, and it fits great! One thing about those 2 tabs: There are 3 plastic clips holding each in. What I did was exert a bit of pressure upward and out, which worked better then pushing forward when trying to remove them. There is a movable plastic piece under each, but you don't have to squeeze or compress anything to get them out. Drop the Safe in place with the lid shut...its much easier. The electronic keypad part will beep when the battery is low. Also the battery compartment is on the outside so dont worry about being locked out with a dead battery. Battery is CR2032 button cell battery. 4 self tapping screws I received were all the same length...short ones in video. All tapped in easily. Cumbersome to put in back 2 screws, and you will need a short Phillips head screwdriver for that part. Where they cut the vinyl/rubber in video worked fantastic. Fits like a glove and a pair of scissors worked fine. Love the look and fit! Recommended.

Much more secure and if someone managed to break it loose from the truck they would not be able to get into the safe easily as the bottom is NOT open like this style. Nice video and safe though. It's about deterrent and being hidden at this point. A thief that really wants in will likely find a way if given enough time.

I think Mrs Rambeast would love a BedRug bed liner, plus it will match her tonneau and be nice and soft for her cookies! I’ve yet to see a bad review on them. Cheaper than spray in as well.
That’s nice. But for 370 dollars for a safe that held by small screws into plastic is ridiculous. And on top of that it will only hold a couple keys a small pistol and may a flat piece of paper. I definitely like the idea but it should be attached to metal. I could get that out in 10 seconds with a small pry bar. Those screws will rip out the plastic easily. Looks like about a 100$ mod to me. Way over priced.
