she can feel the music cuz of that she can make such a wonderfull music:)
Britten is just incredible. He may have been the only composer Stravinsky was seriously jealous of. Igor was terrified of the guy.
You may well have a point,certainly Stravinsky had an irrational almost obsessive paranoia about Britten.
peter feltham I would like to know more about this story. Any sources?
that concerto was written in quebec i think (grey rock)
too much scratching and acting
artur mouardian 100% agree
stronger than a strong coffee without sugar...
I just love this performance!
00:35 ba, ba, ba-flat bababababa
You can even watch the entire concerto. Just click on the button in the "more info" section. Merry Christmas from Berlin!
DAMN!!!!! YEEESSSS!!!! That got me pumped, lol. Love when the artist totally gets a high from playing and just feels the music and becomes one with the piece!
Jansen - A true show stopper and one hell of a player :)
Awesome And beautiful
would it have killed you to have posted the entire mvt, at least? No, it wouldnot hv. Hrupf.. Merry Xmas ..
she moves because she feels the music, she s not a machine
Is someone reading a book at 1:31?
Christian Johnson I think it’s the program
Love this piece!
I've just watched the whole concert and Janine gets a rousing reception . The violin bow is falling apart by the end.
Roseburg93 really? What happened after??
the bow wood was basically twisted and bent! it was crazy!
Perfect German! And frohe Weihnachten to you, too.
Bravo Janine Jansen. Amazing. Congratulations! BRZ. Santos City.
Wow!
@2007wesman Certainly not!
I don't agree. Anything at this level of quality has a price and a value so it does matter who's it is. No matter how much you like the corner bakery, you cannot go ahead and give away their bread to promote your idea of freedom. I agree that writing instead of sanctions would be a gentler way. But then again, BPhil is a largely self-managed orchestra. I will rather have them play than get hung up on negotiating with data pirates around the world.
i didn't know she was this good!
What- how could you have not known, she’s basically a force of nature 😃
rock and roll
Look at the size of those arms!! No wonder her sound!!
Amzing movement!! Good job Janine!!
At exactly 0:19 those appogiaturas really snap!
I have her Britten recording~It's superb..
great chemistry between harding and jansen
0:12 Philippe Cuper, guest principal clarinet !
look like dupre
She is an incredible artist!
Thank you BerlinPhil!
@Ctadeo
Janine is always intense.... and she shows it with her face, her body language, making music also visible for the eyes, not hiding anything....
Does anyone know what dress that is?
@BBRENTTAGHAPP
You can get more leverage on the bow (which results in a more powerful sound) when the entire arm is above the bow, I'm betting that's part of how she achieves that kind of output for the explosive passages. Based on this clip, I think she's more focused on communicating the music. The high shoulder may also be indicative of subconscious tension carrying over into the rest of her playing (there's another outburst after this clip ends). Hope to see more of the performance!
meraviglioso!
@aPMism
You are right but where is the problem? Such things happen when you play with full energy and high risk to give a strong, lively performance...
I was afraid she was going to hurt herself but iloced the piece. Very very intense
yes it was delightful.....Glückliche Feiertage! !!!! i hope that was write....
wow...that was intense, i mean...you can see it in her face lolololol.
@legoinaboat1 I'm sorry, it was a mistake. Thanks for the correction!
her acting look like dupre
Sorry, but when one sees such passion, one has to wonder... :)
Thank you very much for this wonderful gift! :-)
this concerto was made for Jansen and Berlin
¡¡¡Que maravilla!!! Janine, te veré e Murcia este proximo año...
the woman with the violin did it too so...
@meagamon490
how are the other 4, now?
love the theme at 1:38...it's almost rock!
SOUNDS LIKE SHOSTAKOVICH!!
The Nowdays PAGANINI!!! Demonized!!!
sounds like tom and jerry
Dark music.... baffling
Britten was a wonderful composer.
She's making that violin sing!
Merci
@chamberviolist "right"
God bless you Jansen.
@aPMism big deal...
Intense.....awesome
I got goosebumps.
This is great!!!
Excellent.
LIKE SJC
Wow.
Fabulosa! 😍❤️
Energie Engel
This sounds like diluted Shostakovich.
chinese musician dislike this xD
Shes so beautiful. Her shoulders and hands are so beautiful. Love. 😚
great energy and overall performance. but i couldn't help but notice that she didn't go high enough on the glissando at 0:35. The note it concludes on should be a half-step higher, which she does correctly in the repeat of the passage that follows.
awesome! but is it just me or is her right shoulder super just a bit to high?
very nice, though i would have prefered it without so much body movement, after all i think the piece speaks for itself, it doesn't need acting to enhance it.
