To be honest, people that make these quality video's deserve MUCH more views and subs. I am guessing that they put hard work into making these video's. Keep up the great work!
The spring modification is an absolute must. So much more minor precision at center, and it doesnt pull the base around (as much). I cut mine literally in half. Put the flat end facing up and the bare point facing down toward the plate. Still holds dead center, but its so incredibly easy to make minor inputs. If you dont like snipping a spring, you could just buy a shorter, or softer spring of equivalent diameter.
As a VR user, I wish it had a larger track pad instead of the display on it. I'd be making any stick-specific adjustments in its software before starting up the sim in VR, and I'd get a TON of use out of an integrated trackpad in sim. Blindly grabbing for my mouse is one of two gripes I have with my current setup.
Im buying it for 66€ and seeing what it does. It looks like its more than enough for me and Im really happy to get into a new world of SIM games since I already do sim driving.
Got it for $50 from FB Marketplace from some guy who never used it, bought this for my 9 yo son for the upcoming MSFS 2024 game for XBox. Can’t wait to see my son’s reaction as his bday gift, also picked up the MSFS 2024 Limited Collector’s Edition game for him.
I think this review is more geared towards those just getting in to simulation. At this stage people can be put off by the vast array of flight sim products and the expense. This review highlights that all you need to start is a stick like this.
Great vid, I just bought MSFS20 last week on XBOX, so I am a newbie. Today I bought this stick just to get into the flying, cant wait. If the base is to light, I will add stick-on wheel balance weight inside the casing. Its a cheap and effective way of adding invisible weight.
I would highly recommend this for flying any GA style aircraft which natively would use a stick. The central detent from my actual flying experience feels good as most of the time you are only moving the stick a few degrees in each direction. Works well for gliders too. This would be a brilliant option as a first flight controller as it covers everything. A joystick mount is a must to use the stick but other than that, it's very good.
Yep, went from a T16000 to VKB Gladiator to VKB Gunfighter (using the grip from the Glad), no regrets. The Glad was absurdly good value, but it was also cheaper than the later EVO revision.
@@g-locmedia To swap between left/right? Yea. You can get it in the left or right variety though, not sure how much buying a left/right grip to swap in is. Not a bad idea to have two for HOSAS either.
I just ordered one so it’ll be a little more comfortable to casually play MSFS24 PC and Xbox. This seemed like the no brainer option, and additionally it’s on sale for Black Friday on Amazon!
I just got into flight simulation a few days ago (I’m a little late to the party) and this seems like a great beginner stock for me to get comfortable on MSFS in preparation to going over to DCS. Great review
If I have the stick, should I get the yoke too or go for pedals? I’m a former PC player and builder now on Xbox Series X because I’m getting old and just wants things to be easy and simple. Gaming PC building was just too much management and spending all day on work in front of a desk I like to game on the TV to relax.
If you want a more authentic experience flying GA stuff then he yoke it good as it comes with a trim wheel and button box too. It has rudder control in the handles
@@g-locmedia I did actually, got the Velocity One stick. Happy so far, only thing missing is I can't get reversers to engage on airliners although I did bind the button on the throttle axis to "Hold for reversers" or what ever the key binding is called
I've been looking for a flight stick and throttle for a while and I think I'll just settle on this one. Haven't been playing war thunder ever since my thrustmaster hotas one went haywire
I've heard the centering mechanism is bad. It is exactly opposite of the high-tier stick like Virpil. The linearity is upside-down. Common stick has increasing centering force with increasing deflection and with very low centering force at detent. Turtle Beach has very strong detent and the with increasing deflection the force is reducing.
My husband got into MFS 2024 on XBox SS and I am thinking about getting him this stick as a Christmas present. It is completely compatible with both XBox Series and MFS 2024, right?
Xbox simmers don’t have much choice !! Nobody is giving us the controller choices pc users get. If we got better choices some of us would be more than just casual !
Unfortunately I don't see this changing much. I see X-BOX as a gateway for some simmers that will eventually move to PC for a deeper experience as the sheer volume of peripherals available for PC is astounding. A lot of this is because of x-box licensing issues.
Bro, consoles suck so bad. I've gamed since Caleco Vision/Magnavox era. Pong days! I've had every console except dreamcast. After all these years of being a console gamer on old machines to the newer ones (specifically PS1 through PS5 when PS was released) I realized and got sick of being held back. Yes a PC will cost a bit more always but the fact that you can upgrade as you go through the years makes the cost much more effective. Not only getting a full 100% gaming experience with all the bells and whistles that consoles never have and never will offer. Mod support is off the chain. I just, a little over a month ago, gave my PS5 to my younger brother (28yrs old) and got a PC. I used to own PCs but never for gaming, just programming and graphic design. But this time I went all out and spent way too much money. I will be using the PC for game design/3d rendering and animations so I had to go big or go home but I will also be able to run any game at the best specs possible as well. You don't have to have the best of the best to game though unless your budget affords it I guess. The point is. Save for a relatively decent gaming PC and you'll never go back to consoles lmbo.
@@djirate052380Since I don’t know much about PC’s for gaming can you recommend a PC that would be a decent one by name brand and model at a affordable price for just Microsoft Flight Sim…….since I already have an Apple Computer for everyday use ? Thanks a lot.
Honestly I feel that but then you gotta understand a lot of people don’t wanna buy stuff like that because it’s almost the price of a console just a bigger market for it in pc I feel like just like the steering wheel just most games that are worth playing with these are not on console like DCS
This stick has 2 big problems. One is the stiffness, which can be fixed (as others said). The other one is the very small movement angle of the stick. And that can't be fixed. Compared to my old Thrustmaster stick, the Velocity One has almost half the movement. This just feels bad if you are used to a good flight stick with a proper movement angle. It simply can't have the same precision if you need only half the stick movement for the same movement in the sim. I tried the Velocity One stick and returned it immediately. It has very nice features, but unfortunately that's all worthless if the stick fails completely in the most important points: Comfort/ feeling and precision. In my opinion a complete misconstruction.
@@JohanTalk Can't remember. But it's not relevant, because it doesn't change anything about the very small movement angle of the stick. Even if the sampling rate is accurate enough, it is simply easier and more precise for people to control if the joystick has a larger angle of movement. Extreme example: Imagine a mouse which is extremely precise but you just need to move it a couple of millimeters in every direction. No way that a human can be very precise with that, even if the sensor is insanely precise.
@@g-locmedia Unfortunately, no. However, the internals of the Ursa are an exact copy of the VKB NXT, making it a no-brainer at the price of $120-almost half the price of the VKB. It's far superior to anything Turtle Beach has to offer. I have preordered a set of Ursas to compare with my VKB and Virpil. I will probably give them away on our Star Citizen ORG Discord afterward.
As a dcs player I would never recommend this or there future flight deck model… the screens take up too much space it’s not got enough buttons or switches and a STECS and gladiator would be much better
