VMS Basic Setup from Start to Finish

This is a basic start to finish setup of the GeoVision VMS software. This will give you all of the information you need to get your cameras IP addressed, assign passwords to your cameras, update your firmware to the latest version, add cameras to the VMS, name your cameras, adjust camera settings, create a layout for your cameras to display in, configure recording settings, starting monitoring, enabling remote viewing services and preparing the Playback window for reviewing playback footage.

Can you install VMS 17 version to windows Win 7 32 bit machine?

Hello Bhoj. The latest version of VMS 17 requires Windows 10 or 11.

I’m using the GV-EFD2100 and the website shows there’s no firmware at all for it, so do I just go ahead and carry on with everything else or do I try to find the firmware for it?

any chance to record on background? If I turn off VMS recording stops.

There is not really a way to do this. If you Exit the VMS, it stops recording because VMS is the software that records your cameras. There is an option in the Startup window where you can have VMS startup and hide in the system tray. This may be a good option for you as it will have the VMS minimized.
