Thanks you sir. You are the man with the plan
Very good video Mr. Fish machine
The ACC crappie rod you’re using was designed and built in my hometown of Mt. Vernon Illinois. The guy who makes them is a hell of a nice guy. ACC rods are the only crappie rods I use.
Great video thanks
Such an awesome bait. Would have loved to been able to see Mr perry and learn from him about tying.

Ps ...I'm sure the thumbs down on this video is from people who cant fish and are a little jealous lol
It's always nice to watch you catch em. Keep up the entertaining videos and you learn something every time. Thanks
Great video really enjoy watching you fish those docks.Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Shallow Creek farm! Thank you for watching my friend!
Thank you for your video!
Another nice video. The "Elmo" looks a lot like a common tie known as Gray Ghost which never has been real productive for me. The "Twilight" seemed to be working very good for you though. I will have to try to tie up some of those and see how they work.
Great job
Thank you Ralph!
Another GREAT ONE Machine! Dock shooting is some kinda fun to me
Thank you Jeffrey! I agree brother!
My dad shoots docks he loves it at lake Sinclair and lake Oconee he has learned alot of pointers from u he watches u every afternoon u are awesome keep it up!!!

Thank you Elijah!
Tried holding my spinning between third and fourth fingers. Took a little while to get used to it but did have better control. Its those little things you pick up that make a difference. Thanks Richard!!
no problem Bruce! Thank you for watching brother!
Richard gene is the man bass fisherman don't have anything on him lol he can shoot a dock better than any bass fisherman I've seen
Richard, I am from Texas, however, I lived in Arab several years ago, ide make the trip just to hang out and catch some slabs on Guntersville lake. It’s good fur yah... lol
I learned how to shoot docks while fishing at lake weiss in Alabama when I was a kid.saw a 5 pound crappie at jr,s marina and about flipped.never even heard of a 5 pound crappie, let alone seen one.ive caught one a little over 3,but 5 is a world record to anyone!!!
I know this video is somewhat old but I'm new on here . You tell us & show us how to hold the jig .How do you aim , how hard do you pull & where do I hold before my release ?
Awesome boat is that a 15 foot weldbilt?
Nice work . What line are you using.
Excellent video, enjoyed it and learned something new, thanks Richard!

Great video as usual Gene.. GO BIG BLUE!!! Keep up the great work..
Thank you so much Bill!!
Another great video thank you for all you do!👍
Thank you for watching my friend!!
Hey Richard. Is the ACC rod like you are using no longer available? I have googled it, and at ACC they only offer 10 and 11 foot trolling rods. Other than the ACC, what brand and length would you recommend for shooting docks?
I'm not sure about that, it's been a while sense I've talked to them. i would recommend a 5 1/2 or 6ft rod, 1 piece. As far as brand i like ACC but any rod that fits the length/ and the fact that it's one piece will work just fine. Thank you for watching Richard!!
It seems crappie like under the dock. Those are nice crappie fishing machine.
Thanks so much Agnes Currie!! dock fishing for crappie is a great technique to use!!
3:33 I'm 15 and I've been fishing with my grandfather my entire life, He's a River fisherman himself so he fishes with the seasons more so.. White bass, Striper, Crappie.. But Crappie fishing is his favorite and it's become mine too... Learning to shoot i can't coun't the amount of times i accidentally buried a jig up in my finger lol. I also do alot of smallmouth fishing.
We appreciate you Richard! Nice video!
Thank you Ken! Appreciate you for watching brother!
Yes sir! Gonna have to share your water Elmo next week cause I'm coming after them oct 22-27th. What's the cold front coming in the 23rd gonna do to these slabs? Gonna hurt or help feeding? Was concerned when I seen the extended forecast
Those crappie look like there fighting hard do they?
As always, Love the videos! Great video on learning how to shoot docks. Thank you and God Bless!
How much does a box of crappie jigs like the one you had from Mr. Perry cost?
What an wunderfull way to fish. I starded flyfishing because learn to make little streamer and Nimfs for light bass fishing here in the Netherlands and catch and release we called it streetfishing but I want to make the link to flyfishing too and to fish lighter then that. And what you do is what I mean its almost like a game to feel them coming, they twist again the jig or line and wait for nibble and the bite.
So light baits lines rod and reels is having great fun.
Thum ups
Thank you so much Richard De Boer!!
Hey Richard hope all is well.. What is your best color jig for river water that's slightly muddy
For slightly muddy water I like, solid centered white, pink/white combo, or Chartreuse. Thank you for watching Sean!!
Got a link to buy from Mr. Perry?
Another great video sir! Your video's are far better than the fishing shows they have on TV. Keep them coming - I'm addicted to your video's - can't wait for the next one.
Thank you so much Dewayne! That means a lot brother! Glad you enjoy them!!

Being 70 years old, I am having alot of trouble seeing clear line. I had purchased an ultra violet flashlight and found that under this light I can see this line a lot better.
Are these jigs still available
Nice action, Do you think its cool enough to try bank fishing ? Thinking about trying soon
Thank you Crimsontide798! I think it is!!
Where can I buy some of them Elmo Mr.Perry hand typed jig
How to get some of those jigs sir
Sure do like the definition of his camera
How many seconds per foot did those jigs for that?
QUESTION WHEN DOCK FISHN I NOTICED YOU HARDLY USE A FLOAT. WHY MAY I ASK? THX
Where’d you learn that technique?
How do you flip that jig and not hook your finer or thumb?
docks so high and wood pilings you could get close in and simply flip them in and do as well.
You knew good and well that you were not answering that guys question about the color and type of jig
Thanks Richard I’m going to get my first order of jigs from Perry
Where can I buy the perry jigs

Want Crappie fishing at my Uncle's lake the other day that has multiple schools of Crappie in it. Was using a Crappie Magic jig head and 3 inch Yum grub, caught 0 Crappie, 14 Bass and 1 Bluegill.

Thank you for watching Russell! ROLL TIDE!!!
Hey Richard how do you like that trolling motor was wondering if you liked it better than a foot controlled was wanting your advice on it because going to purchase one soon .i got a boat similar to yours .thanks for another awesome video I'm gona get some of those jigs.
I actually prefer This one. i have had foot controlled ones in the past, and i feel like you can control your boat better with a tilt tiller in my personal opinion. So i would definitely recommend the one I use!! Thank you for watching my friend!!
it would be awesome if you could spend some time showing us your jig technique.
will do Calvin!
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine
I got the knot part down, and that the jig needs to be horizontal. I just don't know what I'm doing with it once it's in the water.
How long dod it take you to master shooting docks
I would guess about 5 or 6 fishing trips using this technique and you will have it down pat! Thanks for watching Patrick!!
Gene you've done got me to where I go for nothing but a crappie anymore. Learned alot from your videos and I know I'm gonna learn a lot more. Thanks buddy 👍👍
Thank you JD! I'm glad to have you apart of the channel brother!!
I used to come home from work and look forward to some good dinner or some lovin from the woman...now i just hope there a new richard gene video upload instead!
lol Thank you Southeast Missouri River Fanatic! That means a lot brother!
Just a simple question, I noticed that when your fishing you like to reel in the line about 4 or 5 turns before you set the hook. Is this the reason I may be missing a lot of fish?
I like to come in contact with the fish and then set the hook. I would say you may be jerking a bit to quick, a crappie will hold on to a jig for an average of 8 seconds before they blow it out. i have tested this many times. So you have plenty of time to set the hook. You don't have to turn the reel 4 or 5 times, just as long as you are coming in contact with the fish before setting the hook is the main thing. Thank you for watching James!!
I’ve got a lot of work to do, to get to where I can shoot docks like that! Thanks for the video, I thought I knew how to fish.
Great vid Richard, thanks for the tips....
Thank you toyotaman29!
Good video, very informative, Also love the way you can see the line jump when the fish hits the jig, So if you miss the thump you can watch you line jump. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much Leslie!
Thanks for the video and the link. I’m definitely going to have some of them jigs. They look like good ones for tree tops during the winter. Thanks again for all the good footage.
Thank you for watching Rodney! I think your right would definitely work!
