as a kid I grew up jetty hopping inlets with sneakers like kid icarus lol smh not a good idea though . I was just used to the rocks and lucky . proper footwear should be law .
My Dad would never allow that when he took us finishing so it stuck. Even when I had spikes on he'd say don't think you're Superman you can still fall lol. So I always make sure I have the right footwear on.
Used to scramble all over Orchard beach jetties in the Bronx as a kid. Never fell once. Few years ago as an old man of 50+, wanting to take up fishing again and relive my youth, almost first step I took slipped and nearly cracked my skull. Lesson way learned.
