New Jersey Fall Run Blitzes
Переглядів 3,8 тис.День тому
I had three days to find some fish while on vacation, celebrating 16 years of marriage. I headed over to a spot where the current conditions should produce fish where bait should be at this time of year. I found just what I was looking for, fish blitzing on peanut bunker for the entire day.

Bubba The Seal Killed My Fish
Переглядів 607Рік тому
We have a Seal problem on the canal. Seals hang out close to fishermen waiting for us to hook into a fish. Once we hook up they take the fish sometimes not even eating it. This seal already had a fish it killed and once I hooked up it dropped the fish it already had to go after and kill my fish causing me to lose the fish, line, and jig....this must stop!

@SlayKamara-m5k Thanks for your support. However, as I mentioned in the "announcement" in this video...my season is done.
Great video! It’s tough out there with the wind in your face. But that does push the bait in. You’ll be back to the salt no doubt.
@johnbrown5870 I'm used to that wind in my face...it triggers certain memories of bites I've been a part of...only time will tell I'm able to fish the salt.
@ just remember there’s a lot of land locked striper fishing out there. Which state are you moving to?
@johnbrown5870 Yeah, someone else alluded to that. That's something I'll look into once we know for sure what state.
Shaka, I would like to send you a replacement guppy.

@@alexbetancourt6378 Thanks!
I just have a complain “the music 🤦♂️”
@mrtonysimoes lol, yeah, music is always a touchy subject. Some people like it, some don't. Can't please everyone 🤷🏾♂️. It was either listening to high wind noise or music... I chose music. I'm also a musician, so music would be an easier option for me.

@zizosheriff8466 what's your concern?
@nah was just saying I agree, rather hear u talk Ngl
@zizosheriff8466 okay. I didn't talk much, and the wind noise was too crazy for me. As mentioned, some like music some don't...can't please everyone.
Hi l have been watching most of your videos especially the ones from the canal great videos.
Awesome, thank you!
@ShakaAantoine Hi how can get intouch with you?
Don't know what state you are moving to, but if there is a man made reservoir lake near you, odds are there will be at least Hybrid Stripers and maybe pures also. Left Brooklyn in 2014, thought I was going to miss the Stripers, but they are in the lake near my house, and they come way up the Delaware River. Good luck with the next stage of your life.
@FishermanX Thanks. That's encouraging, and I'll definitely keep that in mind.
Am in CT l was at the canal on 3 occasions grinded all day but wasn't productive. Watched your video on porgies that was epic was that in the cape or Rhody?
He ido muchas veces a sandy hook y no he tenido suerte con la pesca,,,buena vara y señuelos 😢
En que playa o zona de New Jersey fue la pesca
Nice vid. Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm up here in NH and the fishing absolutely blows this year. I have one striper, 26", two short of the slot (28-31", not sure what it is in NJ). Anyway, I'm-a hafta take a road trip down there next year. Can you tell me, tho-- what are you wearing to keep yourself dry?
@livenhfree Thanks. I have on Frogg Toggs Hellbender waders and wading boots and a Guy Cotton Pro Surf top.
I did the same thing 2 weeks ago lost one of my favorite plugs too so painful!
@@alexbetancourt6378 Damn, I bet that thing is loaded with nice plugs.
Nice catches, where?! Change them treble hooks to single circle hooks so much easier and faster , and better for the fish, bra the ocean is for everyone who wants a fish He just mad cause he wasn’t catching!
@alexbetancourt6378 Thanks. I use dressed siwash on many of my plugs. The belly hooks are exclusively treble to keep the balance of the plug. Yeah, either that or he needs the Intel from the bait shops to know when/where to fish.
Nice spot burn. No wonder there are 100 guys there every day
That's hilarious! As many other videos that are made each year, not to mention this year there and other places, you want to blame my video for the "100 gyus" that fish there? Get a grip.
@DavidRoss-m3n Not to mention the bait shops that give live and daily reports, but I'm "spot burning" with this video? Seems like an attack on me.
@@ShakaAantoine The GoPro - UA-cam fisherman have ruined NJ surfcasting.
@DavidRoss-m3n you're crying a river. Again, you failed to mention the bait shops. What's the issue you're not catching as much when you get out? Or is it you rely on the bait shops to know when to go?
@@DavidRoss-m3n Some of you are just sad human beings.
That was terrible. Releasing a dying fish. What a shame. Next time bring a bucket w u or something.
Right, so carry a buck to kill fish. lol, ok, capt. I guess I should've just left the fish on the beach...releasing it was the best option.

@ShakaAantoine I didn't say don't eat one, by all means I'm for eating fish. Just like to look out for the big girls.
@seanb2604 I "look out" for all the fish I catch. That's why I release them. The "bleeder" was the biggest. However, I didn't bother getting a weight due to the blood loss it already sustained...that's me "looking out" for the fish.

@angelopengue7117 I knew you were joking around...those are good conditions despite having a gale warning. Gotta love the best conditions. I wish I could be there. Catch em up!
Lmaoo bro last time I went to the Cape that same shit kept happing to me. I would move to chase the fish and they would end up being closer to the side I just left. After being played like 4-5 times I stopped moving and would just wait the fish out. One of the local guys told me not to chase the fish that they would eventually come closer to our side and he was right.
@marcuslarwa9098 Yeah, during certain tides and winds, they favor a side. The forecast was wrong on that day.
I hope next time you would keep that first fish because once you hooked the gill like that and the fish bleeds that badly there’s no way it’s going to survive. Even if you don’t eat fish I’m sure there’s a neighbor or even a shelter in your town you could give the fish to. I myself am a catch a release guy saw ell but when a fish is bleeding that bad I know it’s going to end up dying so I much rather take it.
@marcuslarwa9098 I asked no body wanted it. I wasn't in a position to keep that fish (long way from home, no cooler, and was going to be out the entire day), so back it went.
Is that what you would tell the warden...?
@Thestaroftheshow88 I wouldn't have to because that fish was going back.
@@ShakaAantoine bro I’m a fishermen and there’s no way you’re going to lie to me and tell me nobody would take that fish. Maybe the 2-3 people you asked closest to you didn’t want it but there’s plenty of people that would have taken that fish. The bottom line is that fish died and was wasted regardless. Better off taking it and giving it away than releasing a fish that’s guaranteed to die.
@marcuslarwa9098 I have no reason to "lie" to anyone. As I said and the bottom line is, I had no plan to keep a fish. That fish was released as the law allows. Go police another fisherman who might feel bad for not dragging a fish around the beach while chasing blitzing fish.

I'm fishing primarily Plum Island and Cape Anne, but also have taken a bunch of trips to the canal this fall. Thanks again -Lee
@@LB-sf6ys it's my pleasure.
Where does this guy fish
From MA to VA...the entire NorthEast Migration.
20 lb first fish of the season is outstanding. But ouch. That rear treble in the eye. Can we just remove rear trebles on all our plugs please? Sp minnow works totally fine without it.
@robertyacoub9705 Thanks. You can if you'd like to. Many of my plugs have a dressed single on the rear. That's a Hydro Minnow. The fish will be just fine. I've caught fish with only one eye before...they're resilient.
@@ShakaAantoine I’m not trying to preach here (ok maybe I am) but it’s such a simple change to make. That a fish survived with one eye is great but why inflict that damage if it can be avoided so easily, even once?
@robertyacoub9705 might as well use rubber hooks with that perspective. Society is so "soft" nowadays.
@@ShakaAantoine what on earth does that mean? Soft because we don’t want to harm fish unnecessarily while still CATCHING them? You misunderstand. I don’t disapprove of fishing (not that anyone cares what I approve of). I FISH. My point is simply that it’s been proven over and over again that a rear treble is not necessary and obviously does more damage than removing it or replacing it with inline single. So why not? If you feel criticized that’s not my intention. Only information. You do all the damage you’re legally entitled to. No one will stop you. They just did a study in Mass. showing the differential release mortality rates between rear treble, rear single inline and no rear hook. The latter decreased it the most but even switching to inline had the biggest impact. So if I can kill one less fish I’ll do it. The population is crashing, no matter how “soft” that sounds. That’s a fact. Despite the mythology of stripers being tough fish, so what?
@@ShakaAantoine but let it be known I love your channel and you always entertain and inform. But on this one issue….
Nice. What state are you in?

hey man what is your advise on someone who live 40 mins away from the canal and only fishes on the weekend? it is to get out there as much as possible or try to lock in the conditions and tides on screen?
@thebear74 Man, if I only lived 40 minutes away, I'd be there as much as possible. With that kind of time to spare, I'd have a better idea of when is the best time to fish the canal and make sure I'm there then. If you only have the weekends, then fish it hard on the weekends.
