I'm a disabled veteran and last week I was leaving the VA Medical Center and I said excuse me ma'am to a person! This person then begins to lose their minds stating it was a he or something so I simply stated I said excuse me and I personally don't care what you are or identify as and it continued to follow me abd yell at me all the way back to my pickup! I just got in abd started the truck hit the gas pedal a couple of times so I couldn't hear it over my exhaust and I just drove off! @@karenv5103 Exactly. You show good manners, and they mistake kindness for weakness. Truth is, they’re bullies looking for victims; whilst playing the victim. I know two, trans ppl in my town. They are adults, both have good manners. I have no problem with adults making their own choices, even if I think they’re making poor choices. It’s not my business. But bullies making demands.. ? Or worse, Preying on children… ? That should never, ever be tolerated.

Had the same thing happen tjis weekend sort of. Im a server & this 1 customer comes n everyday. Hes an older man & i believe he may be dealing with dementia. Well as he starts getting ugly for no reason, i just kept smiling and agreeing with him. The more i smiled the more this poor guy got mad. I learned this same thing at that time. No matter how much i wanted to get mad i knew he was probably sick & couldnt help it. Im human so i cant say i havent gotten mad b4 but this time i tried not to with all i could muster. The more i smiled the more mad he got. If u allow someone to get u upset when thats all they were trying to do n the 1st place. It will eat them up if they cant get to u. Its not easy to keep ur composure but if u can u will eat their tails up not being able to get to u. Glad ur friend did that. It can be a blessing to ur day to not let them ruin ur day. God bless ❤

You're buddy was absolutely right Zach. Back in my 20s my son's biological father, my "bio." Mother (Grandma was truly my mom always), and my bio. Moms bf taught me that lesson.. what they all have in common is that they're all sociopathic narcissists with antisocial personality disorder. I do not say this lightly or uneducated either. The last 2 of those people have still not figured out that I've put the wall down with them and will never speak to them again, nor do I give one care in the world about them after the things they've done. Again, that decision wasn't made lightly. Some people are looking for a reaction. Either they're looking for an argument for attention. Either way not getting it from me. Otherwise I'm giving them what they want. That is not what I want, for sure 😉 keep on keeping on Zach.

I would have asked for the manager, at the end of the day, all people want is pleasant polite service, not this crazy drama scene!

awesome story and advice. ❤ Zac. I watched this x2. I think you should have asked for the manager and told the mgr the waitress badgered you guys throughout your meal about her damn pronoun problem.

I had a similar situation. I said "IT needs to turn around and walk away before it really gets its feelings hurt." It started crying and ran away.

Thanks for posting. This is a good lesson. It did not matter what or who the waiter was, they are there to perform a service. That is it. No one cares if they are male/female or who they bed, just keep my tea cup full, my food brought to the table, you will get a good tip that you like, and we will get along just fine.

As a born, raised, and still live in the Deep South southern woman my grandma taught me early how to hold my tongue, be polite, then when the time is right throw the facts at them hard and fast while doing it so politely and kindly that they aren’t sure if they’ve been complimented or ripped to shreds or both. That way you leave them speechless. I think that’s one of southerners super powers! Plus the older most of us get we just don’t care anymore. And we ain’t taking no one’s bs. I worked in a mental health clinic that served 4 counties for 5 years. At that time therapists were taught not to go along with anyone’s delusions. Speak to them kindly and sweet but tell them they are confused. Then tell them how things really are. Now they’ve been advised that if someone identifies as a unicorn to go along with it. I refuse to ever go along with any delusions. Each of us has the right to create our worlds like we want them in our minds. But we don’t have the right to make anyone else live there. I prefer to think it’s back in the 80’s when life was easier and a lot more simple. People didn’t get their feelings hurt over everything! Heck we weren’t allowed to have feelings. We dealt with them thru sarcasm, making fun of each other, & humor. I miss these days when you could say something about someone and they didn’t care. If it wasn’t your family or close friends no one cared what anyone else thought. They should be ashamed because you’re not supposed to air your dirty laundry! I don’t want to know nor do I need to know what anyone’s sexual preferences are! Keep that private and in the bedroom!

I would say, “I’m a gen X feral child and well you should know we don’t handle being told what say or think. I only see one person in front of me of me so just tell me your name and I’ll use that.” Damn… my country ass had enough problems with grammar class that I repeated two levels. You just touched on the one issue that lord help the person that talks to me that way. Can we Bless your heart and you can guess my tone.
Oh and I’m a 3rd generation Democrat who will always vote for policies that help me not against me or irrelevant to me. Don’t clump extreme left with the Democratic Party just like the far right is not conservative republicans. Those far leaning left or right are in their own party in their minds and are delusional to think the majority of humanity is behind them.

He handled it very well because if you ignore people when they persist in that you do something and don't give them a reaction they get up very upset
