- In this video I'll walk you through the easy steps of how I go from brassy blond hair to ash blonde at home using Wella T14 Toner. I'll aslo talk about the difference between using Wella T18 versus T14 and some things I've learned from past attempts. My hair was bleached using Feria Absolute Platinum prior to filming and my goal here was essentially to remove much of the brassy orange tones.

Thank you for putting a Before and After pic side-by-side! Most people forget to do that.
you saved my hair w this video seriously i saw this last night at 3am and tried this as a last hope and it completely got rid of the orange THANK YOU SO NUCH i owe you my life
Love the video! And THANK YOU for mentioning T18 needing to be on super light hair! T18 is a purple based toner, which only cancels out yellow! So a lot of people don't realize you have to have the lightest, palest level of blonde before using T18 ...and all it's meant to do is tone out yellow brassiness! "Silver Lady" T14 is a blue based toner! Blue cancels out Orange! And can also give you a silver color which I love! Cuz I do my hair in silver grey! ^_^ So glad you mentioned all that for folks!
Edit for Side Note: anyone looking to use wella toners... toning does not last long! So consider getting a blue or purple shampoo to use in between toning with wella! Because they will also help keep your hair toned!
Great advice Bre!
Bye orange hair woo hoo worked for me sooo relieved thank u so much !! Y’all !! this totally works
T14 + 1/2 of the 050 with 20 developer - 25 min. Did the job omg 🎉😮🎉❤
Tried this and it totally worked for me. I had super brassy hair after a box dye job. Still a little brassy at roots but overall really satisfied with the look and impressed I fixed it myself. I used t14 with only 3 capfuls of 050, 10v developer. Thank you for sharing🙂
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The before and after cleared up so many of my questions. I used exactly what you did and got the same results. You win the toner explanation award. CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉
Awe thanks so much for the kind words. Really happy it helped 🙏💗
Out of all the videos I've watched about T14 on super orange brassy hair, yours is the most helpful and inspirational of all. Thank you!
OMG, my hair fell out years ago, but this man is so adorable I watched the whole thing. Bravo!
I saved my husbands hair (and our marriage…lol and j/k) by following your video. His hair was a light orange that glowed in the sun. It’s much better today. More of a sandy blonde because the ask cut so much of that orange. Thanks for posting!
OMG you save my life..Thank for such a simple clear explanation how fix brazzy hair color..
Thanks Ana, hope your experience goes well!
Thank you! I just bleached my hair yesterday and used t18 and did not change to my hair thankful for this video im gonna have to try this because this yellow/orange is not great!
You're so welcome! ✨
Thank you soooooo much for this information. It helped me fix this issue myself. I appreciate you!
great job, your hair looks fabulous, natural. Thanks for sharing.😊👍🏻
The result is very nice.👍 Your explanation was very good too because women tend to talk faster and can be harder to follow at times. My hair is yellow with some brownie/ yellowy tones at the nape so I’m going to go to a Sally’s near me because I was going to use T18 and it probably wouldn’t have done anything. Thanks and good video 👍
You saved my hair with this video!!!!
So happy to help! 🥰
Wow your hair came out great. I’ve never heard of the additive and was told to use T18 but the 14 looks so good. I’m definitely going to try this. I am so orange. :(
Helped me so much!!!! The outcome was great! 😩😩 Thank you!!!!
it looks so great! i bought t14 bc of this video. been thinking to get t18. thanks for the help
Great video...awesome explaining it too..yea turned out really nice! It's always confusing which toner shade to use..yea I stay away from any of the ash colors. Great job
You look amazing with Blond hair believe me!
Gracias muchas gracias estaba buscando un video como este porque no he podido quitar el naranja de mi cabello a si que ahora se que es un T14 y un 050 👍🏼
GREAT JOB!! Well DONE!!
Absolutely love the after! Way to go bro 😎
Thanks Julian! 🍻
Everything you described is my exact scenario. Literally sitting here after toning with t18 and because my hair is more orange after bleaching I needed the t14. I also wanted to protect my hair so I used coconut oil on my scalp and I think it prevented the bleach and toner from processing properly. I’m going to use a blue shampoo and see how that neutralizes the orange. And I’ll give it another day to three and then tone again. I just feel nervous about bleaching and didn’t want to do a full bleaching session in order to get closer to a level 9 or 10.
Hope it works out Tiffany! The coconut oil for sure prevented the toner from sticking. Best of luck with the fix 🙏❤️
Excellent results! Great easy to follow video!
What if I already have conditioner in my hair ? Leave in conditioner? Should I rinse it out first.
Great tutorial. Good Job. Hair looks great!
Looks so good!! And thank you for your informative video!!
Thanks and glad you found it useful! 🙏
You just saved my life! I’m Trying this tomorrow hopefully It works and I won’t look like a carrot when I go back to work 😆
Awesome so glad to help! 🥕
😂❤
Love ❤it, thanks!
Thanks for the tip.Worked great for me.I have a perm on the ends,so i left on only 10 minutes due to porosity. A bit darker but ash has eluded me for years.Let's see how long it lasts
Yay! Glad it helped 💫
Looks very good! Why is the 050 needed? Is the T14 not blue enough?
Good video. Thorough and to the point. 👍
Thanks man you simplified it
Well after watching this video i feel ready to do it for my husband… wish me luck!!! 😉
Best of luck Stephanie!
Nice, just bleached my hair and it’s hella orange so this helps a ton
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Did this but iI ended up eith greyish ends where i use to be really blonde..... can i now color it over toner T14 to even it out ? Have same color as yours but white ends. To use t18 i need fo bleach again ?
Thanks for sharing! do you think it would work mixing 20v developer with T14 only without the 050 additive? What does the additive do exactly? I am thinking to apply the toner on my roots after dying my hair to a blonde level 9
I always used a capful of the blue. For me it seemed just enough to go after the orangy bits.
Thank you so so much
You're welcome! 🙏💫
That looks awesome!
It’s looks good on you!😍
Thanks for the video!
Everyone was telling me that i HAD to bleach my hair, but i wanted to keep it the same brightness (mine looks IDENTICAL to yours)
Hope it works out! :)
Awesome, let me know how it goes!
Did it work??
Wow very also nice color ! Perfect 👍
This is so informative
Thank you
Thank u headed to Sally's in a few
Awesome, hope your experience goes well Michelle!
Well done…looks great!
Thank you
Thanks for the kind words Lynn! 🙏💗
Good job
Thank you 🙏
Purple or blue shampoo will lighting it more
Love it ✨
I have dark brown hair, bleached with 20 vol developer and ended up with red/blond hair, should I wait one week and bleach again and then apply a toner?
Sometimes it takes several rounds/boxes of hair bleach to get a lighter shade. For me in this video I had to use a medium blonde and then a platinum box right after. Best of luck with your hair journey 🙏💗
Thank youuu
You're such a guy!👍🏻
Does the additive come with the toner?
No
You'll need to buy them separately, but would be SO cool if they did come in kit!
Much better.
Very informative.
Thanks saved my friends hair haha
Glad to help 😀
much better
nice job, handsome.
I think it's still too light and artificial looking. I would go darker ash blond.
If you went to a hairdresser they would of toned your hair straight away after bleaching 😵💫
Which is a bit overdrying the hair and the scalp. I like to wait at least a day in between and putting oils on my scalp and hair, making sure they rest and moisturised before going in with the toner.
