People being problematic about the podcast and im actually proud of how Camila is able to verbalize her frustrations and how Shawn listen to her and understand it! Communication is the key to any relationship and the podcast is not about that at all, is about him dealing with it.

Exactly this. They’re incredibly mature and you can tell their souls are old. The things they talked about impact my life so greatly also cause in my surroundings we communicate a lot and it’s probably on of the only things that helped me stay alive and especially with my mental illness now with grief and trauma. Communication helps so much for many. I could acknowledge my feelings and cry to remove pain and also to reduce suffering in the long run from bottling up. They really get it. Been a fan since 2015 and I’m so proud of their growth and maturity. We all need more people like them

I agree with you! The most interesting is watching the people who are criticizing something that has already happened, is incredible to see how in the video he is talking about really shocking topics and we only look at something that they as mature people and couples have already solved, it distresses me to see how we are beings unable to empathize.

@@karlacortes9201 ikr especially that part about men being sexual subjects and women being sexual objects...as someone who was introduced to porn at too early an age like Justin, and who has had similar experiences with the "male gaze" like Liz, that is such an important topic in today's society and the fact that ALL of that got glossed over what the kids on the internet PERCEIVED as abusive (I cant even believe I'm typing this out) is truly terrifying, if you think about it in the context of what the world is headed towards in terms of empathy and sympathy.

    This is truly amazing.
29:20 Shawn is literally expressing Matthew chapter 16 verse 25, "For whoever wills to save his life will lose it and whoever will lose his life for me will find it.”
Focusing on something bigger than yourself seems to be the answer to finding life and being okay.
30:04 Shawn sees that self-righteousness (being good at being the good guy) can and usually leads to manipulative behavior. So it's not just about "being good."
Proverbs chapter 30 verse 12 "There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth." (The filth being sinful nature or that "inner darkness" that everyone has.)
30:12 the lady says the solution is to get rid of the ideas of "good guy" and "bad guy" and everyone should just be themselves.
But Shawn knows the truth deep down (30:20), that there is a big piece of darkness in us, which the bible calls "sin" or "sinful nature"
30:33 the solution is not to ignore the darkness in us (even by prayer or meditation or religion) Because it will only get stronger.
The solution, as Justin baldoni puts it, is to live in the "higher nature" or "in the spirit".
Galatians 5:16 "But I say, walk by the Spirit , and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
But this is the crucial piece that they are missing...
We can't do it on our own.
    I think Shawn realizes this.
No one has been able to live as the good guy all the time and it's exhausting to try to find the balance.
    There is good news though.
Someone came to kill that inner darkness, that sinful nature, that lower nature.
He lived his entire life in the spirit.
He never surrendered to the darkness.
He gives us the power to do the same if we put our trust in Him.
He literally gives us His Spirit and a promise to never leave us.
He took all of our darkness, all of our sin, all of our evil and destroyed it. He can take yours too.
    His name is Jesus.
Shawn, you are soooo close to the truth. It's crazy how God is revealing truth to your heart. I'll be praying for you 🙏🏼

When he is talking about the detachment from the material things he says that not everybody can stop working. Man. That was straight to the point. Detachment doesn’t mean stop working but having a stronger reason to do so. It means that you’re working not because you want to have things from people but change people’s lives in a way. It means service. The point is where you put your heart on.
