And therapy isn't as easily accessible as you think it is. Even with the NHS IAPT(I may have named it wrong but I think it's Improving Access to Psychological Therapy) you could be waiting a long time for a very small amount of help. Obviously she would have the money for now, but it's safe to assume unhealthy coping mechanisms have come into play. I'd also like to disagree with myself for the whole "it's not about money" thing as we're likely both right about it. Also, im not saying she's not conscious of the decisions she's making, just that trauma plays a massive role in remapping your brain. Theres nothing wrong with being invested in a discussion. As a rape survivor myself, if you let yourself sink into the horror of it, it takes a day ro two to recover with lots of bad stuff (anxiety, flashbacks, depression). Humor or other positive things are a common coping mechanism and can help you share your trauma without having to relive it

And therapy isn't as easily accessible as you think it is. Even with the NHS IAPT(I may have named it wrong but I think it's Improving Access to Psychological Therapy) you could be waiting a long time for a very small amount of help. Obviously she would have the money for now, but it's safe to assume unhealthy coping mechanisms have come into play.
I'd also like to disagree with myself for the whole "it's not about money" thing as we're likely both right about it. Also, im not saying she's not conscious of the decisions she's making, just that trauma plays a massive role in remapping your brain.
