If you plan to build this robot you better check out the upgraded model, it walks MUCH better (the video is for Arduino version, but construction is universal) - ua-cam.com/video/wF3MR8pRAGo/v-deo.html
It'd be interesting to learn about the design process. How many prototypes did you go through before coming up with the final design? Would it be possible to see a video covering one from conception to the final build?
Hey Jonah, thank you for interesting suggestion. I thought about it for a while and in fact it is quite hard to grasp how would I make this kind of video.. Different models come from different experiences. Sometimes I have movement model and I try to wrap it into an appealing visual thingy. Sometimes otherwise there is a visual idea and mechanics come after. Either way there are few prototypes in the process and I always try to keep it as simple as possible, with the most basic electronics and construction process to make it usable in the classrom.

Hey Michael. Design layout is embedded in the video. You can screenshot and print it. We prepare a website with downloadable designs in pdf. As for the code there is a link in some prrvious comment of mine.
good morning it's me again jakja, was pa another question, is that I have a servomotor of the blue of 180 ° a SG90 IS A Microservo by what tells me the label, if done with this type, I will have inconvenience to the performance or efficiency of this same?
It depends how do you connectit. If you want to draw rhe oower from the microbit, then it will work but only ine servo and it will be very weak. If you have some adapter then it provides the power for rhe servis and they should work fine as long as they are compatible with 3.3v signal
@@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS For my part I want to provide power through the breadboard with a 9 volt battery but I don't know if I need a resistor or something else to make it work, and if so what kind of resistor I would have to use.
good evening how are you, I wanted to make a small query, this can be done with breadboard? and there connect the microbit, sorry for the inconvenience
@@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS Thank you very much, I will take this into account, although I would have to see some tutorials on the protoboard, thank you very much
I use microbit in the video but it is not a big problem to switch it to arduino. There is sample of microbit code in one of the previous comments check it out, it will be very similar on arduino.
Mi profesor de las clases de robotica nos puso esta actividad y estamos programando los servos desde la micro:bit La verdad es que esta muy interesante ya que vamos a hacer una competencia de el que quede mas bonito 😊
Suprisingly as for only two servos, you can tweak the sequence to make him move in four direction, but take it for what it is, a gimicky concept for fun.
Hi! Thanks for the comment. The purpose of all my designs are to be useful for teachers in primary school classes. So if you want to give away hobby knives to a class of twenty 10-15olds... go for it! ;-) As for why I stubbornly use nuts and bolts over glue: 1. Reusable 2. Reversible 3. Fast 4. Clean 5. Connection is strong enough.
now just add a swipper behind it, and it will sweep the entire house. can u upgrade it to sweeping ?? vacuum bots are too costly, and require useless manual cleaning every week.
I really wonder why people use 3d printer for simple parts. So many can be cheaply made out of pvc for example. Put a little love in it and it looks good and may even be way faster if you don't 3d model it + printing. I got a 3d printer myself this week 🙈
Wow, your projects are amazing! I like making cardboard robots with microbit too, and I have some videos in my youtube channel, but you are in another level! Congrats! If you don't mind, I will talk about your channel in my youtube channel. I think people interested in my content will be in yours. Good luck!

I just started assembling a robotic arm with cardboard even though I have a 3d printer. It's just so easy to build and modify stuff with it.
"Almost like Boston Dynamics" 💀💀
yea boston dynamics doesnt have anything on this
Yes, they started from it too😂
Not wrong, almost looks like it dances too.
Same thing that came to my mind😂
I can see it.
what you did is nothing short of MAGICAL.

This is unbelievably wholesome, instant sub!
Such a Great Idea 💡 using Cardboard instead of perf board🎉
Damn another creation to make my life fuller.. thanks for helping all those geeks like me out there for this amazing method
En realidad son muy creativos!😊
Hi, could you give me the code for the micro bit?

Oh wow, I love your Bokedown Dynamic robot dog.
I love this channel - just subbed!
How do you code the MicroBit??????????????????????????????????
ok, another request for the code, give me some time I will make the code for the Control APP today
@@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS Thanks
You have basic code here: makecode.microbit.org/_gWwdyj8zwJoj
Unfortunately it crashes on Micro:Bit v1, due to lack of memory, works only on v2
I will make v1 workaround tomorrow
@@CARDBOARD_ROBOTS Thanks.
So cute!
That is so cute. Makes me want to build one.

In general, when you power a motor you do not limit it with a resistor. But 9v is a bit too much for a micro servo, most of them operate at 6v max
Also be careful with 9v around the micro:bit you might fry the io pins when you mess something on the breadboard
I would better go with 3 or 4 AA or AAA batteries
Loved this channel. #SoooooooCute

Hey, if you do breadboarding maybe check Arduino version of this robot: ua-cam.com/video/wF3MR8pRAGo/v-deo.html
But yes,if you have breadboard adapter for the micro:bit it will do as well. As long as you will know how to connect the servos an power them.

Couldn't most of the bolts be replaced with glue? I'd also suggest a proper hobby knife.

Hey, you cant try this code as a starting point: makecode.microbit.org/_c882jvaU00Ku
Dog movement is a simple sequence of servo steps, if you tweak it you can make him walk in four directions (just don`t expect it to be too fast ;-)
